    • @OverlandingwithBruce
      @OverlandingwithBruce  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi John. Yes I agree fully but I have a confession to make. Most of the time that I use music is because I am trying to cover up talking, engine sounds, coughing or just general other "unnatural" noise during filming. If I could figure out how to cover all of that up without music it would actually help so much as its a battle to find the right music without copyright restrictions.

      Most of the time it’s better to go to the ablution block before setting up. A lot will also depend on where you are what tent you have etc

    Hi Bruce. I really liked your video. Well done and thanks for all the good advice. I also tow a Companion and thought it wise to replace my 10y old Monroe's shocks, before leaving for Mabuasehube, with brand new Tough Dogs. Very disappointing to say they couldn't even get me to Mabua, they both failed. On my return, I took them to my Conqueror branch in Zambezi in Pretoria and they replaced it with Monroe's again. We did a Moremi trip now in July without any issues. Tough Dogs are not so tough after all. With what did they replace yours? Cant wait for your next videos.

      Thank you Robert. That's the weird thing about it, I dont find it tense at all. I think it's because I always have an escape plan and generally we always know exactly where they are. If you had seen the first Beautiful Zimbabwe episode where we were at Chitake in Mana pools surrounded by a pride of 22 lions, that was a bit more intense :) :)

    Hi Bruce, I absolutely love your videos, but if you could keep the music lower in the mix. It seems it’s about 5 or 10 db above your narrative. Personally I’d rather not have the music, but your narrative or ambiance. Thanks.

    • @OverlandingwithBruce
      @OverlandingwithBruce  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Robert. Thanks so much mate. To be honest the colour and sound levels is a constant struggle. I am far from professional so often when I film there is other "unnatural" noises, like the car, a camera clicking, the EGR clicking, people driving past, and worst of all the lens I have makes a noise when it focuses which I only discovered when editing this video. Will have to try use it in manual mode next time. So in all honesty I use the music to try and cover up a lot of that. I do try and keep it to a minimum though. The good news is I will be upgrading the mic's and have ordered some speakers for the "studio/office", so hopefully there will be an improvement. Im learning daily.
      Thank you so much for watching and thank you especially for the honest feedback. It always helps.

      There are no suspension mods to his vehicle at all but if you wanted to its a very cheap and easy mod on the lands. Look up Johnson Rods on google to see how.

    Great videos! Very interesting to look at as I have owned Discovery 4 and 5 and now have a 2020 D240 Defender like you. I live in Norway, but have actually driven the Disco 5 in Namibia via Land Rover Adventure tours. we plan to drive in Botswana now with the new Defender. Do you find the new Defender quite a bit better than the Disco 5 when it comes to off-roading? I feel it is much better built. My Disco 5 fell apart for nothing, the build quality just was not there. I also think the air suspension are better on the Defender.

    • @OverlandingwithBruce
      @OverlandingwithBruce  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Stein-Harald. We did find or experience any problems with the D5 as it went everywhere the Defender went and we didn’t notice any differences in ability or performance. You will see in the next video more off roading also.
      I do much prefer the New Defender obviously and it has a lot of little things that make it better but for this type of travel both will be perfectly fine. We don’t really do the hardcore stuff.
