I love these kind of easy licks to build on . You also have a calming voice to listen to . I used to subscribe to another guy and he was like a fast train on a runaway track . So thanks for being easy to listen to and follow .
Robert your delivery is perfect Thank you. I've been playing for years but now I've decided to push and learn every day these simple short licks are perfect for this it's almost coffee break guitar lessons Except I'm off work but watch...digest ...watch and play later ..perfect!
that was the first true lick I ever learned years ago and it is a go to and you are right you can milk any part of the phrase or any note it it quite easily.... your teaching is most pleasant...
Thanks Robert. I enjoy your lessons and try to incorporate as much of them as I can in my playing. Your Hendrix lessons have been helpful to me and I'm finding the techniques you've outlined in so many songs....for example The Weight. Keep up the good work.
It’s very similar to AC/DC’s opening to ‘have a drink on me’, but I never thought of incorporating it into improvisation. These lessons are excellent because they just trigger lots of playing. Thanks
You help me loads , I thank you. My only set back was having to get new equipment after I smashed it all up 3 seconds after seeing you play for the first time lol . Oh and I chopped my hand off n had to re-grow that too! Now I just accept there can't be more than two gods, the bearded guy with the halo up there , and yourself , and i live with it . And crack on with your fabulous well thought out teaching .
As a noob it would help to know what pentatonic pattern you were playing the lick in. I figured it out so it will probably stick in my memory bank longer. You are ending the lick on the root note so you could play it anywhere on the fretboard as long as the root is available to finish on. Thank you for the video!
I like it again! Sweet like Jimi, who I have followed and practicing a lot. I play on an acoustic, just as fun, maybe a tiny part harder. I'm practicing your showing us the A chord with fingers 3-5 and the index (2) hiding on the 2d note (B), but where did it go? thank you again Mr. Robert!
Hi Robert, I tune in to your lessons. I am really curious to know " The Brand and Model, is the 'Bridge Pickup' ?? - I also purchased a 'Suhr Classic Pro SSS' but not fond of the existing Bridge pickup, I am seriously thinking to change over. Please if you could so kind with the info. Regards Dom.
Robert, love ur lessons. I'm a bit more advanced...l use this as a way to build up to and fro...these are things learned long ago by ear...now what l realize is it's root, 3rd, 5th, 7, and it adds color...that along with arpeggios, and chord tones...u've made my git complete...using my first finger as a thumb imitating hold a pick. Problem is that often l strum no pick...and l need to develop my pick strumming....but l pluck alot also....more of the basic plectrom strumming. Or even pluck and strum would be great...l call U doctor..for u help me with the bad habits..I'm trying to do surgery on.... Kookie Jeanne
Sorry to sound so thick but is the first note played on 2nd fret on G string and then you immediately slide to 4th fret. I can see what is done on video but the guitar tab is confusing for me with that first little dash on G string.
Yeah, but you don't have to slide all the way from the 2nd fret. I slide from the 3rd fret. We are after the sound of the sliding note, and sliding from the 3rd fret is easier and sounds better to my ears. The angled dash means sliding into a note. You can slide into a note either from below, or from above.
@@Dolphinstreets Thank you so much for your prompt and detailed reply. My tin ears did not enable me to recognise the amount of slide. Hopefully they will get better with time.
Robert, are you using the round edge of the pick like a mandolin player, or does it just look that way? Maybe you have answered this before. Thanks for the lessons.

Are using overdrive? I can't get my strat to sound this way.
Wht key is this???
Liking these licks - but for some reason I keep thinking - 'Got to get to K-Mart!'
I love your stuff and will continue. But when I attempt to download your material the email message is mostly whited out. So?

"boom boom boom boom"....!
Play this on the low A and E strings and you're (kind of) on the way to learning the Joe Bonamassa version of "Just Got Paid Today!"
Hi I'm Rowboat... hahahahhaha jk.. thanks bud this helped out big time for your time and effort for us newbies.
🖒🖒 sweet!
What guitar is he using?
Suhr C1 Pro.

It’s difficult to keep track of your finger placement.
Robert you sure have a lot of guitars. As Paul McCartney says. And what's wrong with that?
i think jimmy page used this in the whole lotta love solo
i wish you would spread your fingers apart more when playing so we can really see what fret you’re playing
It's not enough that he shows it from great angles ? How can you tell a guitarist to spread your fingers so I can see better? That is ridiculous.
