Hi Ralph. Was thinking about you the other day. I felt you would appear again soon. We are all entitled to a break, indulge in other interests. It keeps us fresh and interested in life. Good to see you friend 😀😀😀
Good health to you, Ralph. Your videos are so easy to follow (as a synth newbie) but SO full of information. You, sir, are an educator of the highest order!
Hi Ralph. Just bought the Behringer UB-XA and just discovered your channel. Please do know that I really like your approach and your tutorial style videos. In one of your first videos on the UB-XA you said that you wanted to bring out more tutorials. I am really looking forward to this and subscribed to your channel. Get well soon and looking forward to hearing from you soon.
@@RalphBaumgartl Hi there Ralph. And thank you for answering my message to you so fast. Much appreciated. To be honest, I did not know that there is a Desktop version available..... And to be even more honest, I am quite new into synthesizers. At least in owing them and playing them (obviously I have been a great synthesizer fan for a great deal of my life...). That's also why I am looking out for tutorials about synthesizers in general and the Behringer OB-Xa specifically to better understand and use the synth to its full potential. I really hope that you can be an experienced guide for me on this journey. So looking forward for more OB-Xa content from you. Stay well and stay safe. Ronald
Sending you lots of positive vibes and wishing you a smooth and speedy recovery. Take care, and we look forward to seeing you back in youtube. Love From India.☺
HEy Ralph! thanks for answering my questions during this time (ARP2600 and Analog SEq). I've been on a similar path, focused more on KiteBoarding 🏄♂ Muscles and skeleton has their own memory, so you'll be ok soon 👍 👍 👍, "motion is life; stillness... is not!" TRAIN HARD!!! About your entertainment during recovery, darn! 🎹 my own family will not see me for weeks when I get my TEO-5
Hello Marco, I have always been fascinated by Kiteboarding ever since I saw it on TV for the first time around 30 years ago. Guess it's too late now to start another dangerous sport 😉 Many thanks for stopping by! Cheers, Ralph
Glad to hear you're on the mend, keep on healing. Just a thought though, with some of the tiny synths available these days maybe you could combine the two? Windspeed detectors generating CV signals? Oops! I'm having a mad scientist moment 😀
Thank you for your kind words! Mixing windspeed detectors and synths? That's a genius idea! Who knows, you might just revolutionize the music industry!
What a combination, skiing and synthesizers. I only hope you were able to tend to the orthopedic issue, Ralph. A guy I play music with here in the US is also an avid skier, and he had to hang them up this season (which he wanted to be his skiing swan song) to undergo hip replacement. Too bad there are no longer glaciers on this part of North America (New York). I keep telling him that winter 2025 will be his final outing.
It's amazing how hobbies can intertwine with unexpected challenges. Sending good vibes to your friend for a smooth recovery! I am making daily progress, but nevertheless I am going to play it save in the future. No hard Mogul Skiing, just cruising on soft and easier slopes ;-) Cheers, Ralph
You're my favorite 2600 person, Ralph. You got me up and running to use it in production work and I'm forever grateful. Hoping and praying for the best for you always.
1:34 Those curtains! :O Just by seeing those I feel like I'm 6 or 7 years old again, haha. I can see why shows like Stranger Things are really popular. The 80's did sorta "shine" a bit more, right? Like people were more enthusiastic about everything. Today, being social/creative means: get your phone out, bury your head in there and everything's gonna be fine. I'm really considering buying one of those 3310 reissues and get rid of my iPhone. As sorta an experiment, I lived for a week without any social media a couple of months back and I felt alive again, like... being HERE. Don't know how to explain this, haha. :)
I was always an intermediate skier (though an expert water-skier), the day I thought I was an expert snow skier I ended up tearing my right knee ACL and had to be carted down the mountain on a snow-stretcher. Ended up having surgery to reconstruct it. That was the end of my skiing career, but at least I still have synthesizers (and a road bicycle)!. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
I suppose you were also waterskiing in the Pre-Wakeboard time ;-) Slalom, Trick and Jumping. Waterski Jumping is extremely wild! Did you do that as well? Greetings, Ralph
@@RalphBaumgartl Slalom skiing- starting in deep water from one ski! I grew up on the South Shore of Long Island, NY and skied Great South Bay. We used to jump the 2 meter wake of the ferries going across to Fire Island. Interesting thing- after I recovered from my knee surgery I wanted to ski once last time (so that the last time I ever skied wouldn't be on a stretcher) and stuck to beginner slopes for the morning. In the afternoon I decided I wanted to try snowboarding (which was relatively new then), my instructor told me it was just like slalom water-skiing as far as weight distribution. As soon as he told me that, I was an instant expert! But I decided not to push my luck, and that afternoon was my last on the slopes...

Hello, I have a beginner question, I copied a patch from a Korg arp 2600m into the Arturia 2600 v3 vst and the sound is not even close, is this something common? How can I copy the same sound from the korg to the Arturia?

The very same slider position on one 2600 Synth doesn't necessarily yield the same sound on another 2600 Synth/clone. Play around with the slider positions.
