UDO is giving us an opportunity to witness history, as young synth fanatics and enthusiasts, we can now tell a story of a legendary synth 20 years later, @Anthony Marinelli Music, freaking legend you are.
@@alexanderednie1205 yeah Dr mix does, love him, but he does product placements and weird sell your soul to the system. While this man, this man is absolutely and completely fuck you money let me show what I care about on a mission to archive synth history.
UDO is incredible! As an owner of Super 6 i mostly use to take on vacations, its my go to preferred synth to carry and also do some rough sketches of any tracks i get inspiration of to make. 🙌🏻🔥❤️
So glad you took a look at the Super 8. Amazing synth. Was hoping to hear you on the Super Gemini! You’d kill on that thing. Next time then. Always great to see your videos, Anthony!
Anthony, would love to see you get more hands on with a UDO synth. They’ve picked up the spirit of some classic synths and put them in modern packages. I’ve got a Super 6 and it has to be the most enjoyable instrument I’ve ever sat down with. It’s so tactile and lovely sounding.
Anthony really has a gift and that trained ear for sound design. You can watch the gears in his head turning trying to figure out what is making each patch behave the way it's behaving.
Very very nice!! Gotta have this as a software synth if they decide to make one that way!! These keyboard sounds are gonna be in Film and TV as soon as it comes out!
Always wondered what your reaction to these synths would have been Mr. Marinelli, thanks. I think UDO makes one of the best sounding synths on the market today.
I hadn't checked out the Super 8 yet. I got one of the first Super 6 keyboards to hit the US back in 2020. I traded it recently for a Super 6 module, but I carried over all my sounds from the keyboard and picked up where I left off.
Totally enjoy your videos!! The SUPER BOOTH 24 are great also. After listening to several of the videos, I can see your mind working overtime on sounds for your movie scores. Or even developing a movie after your scores!!
Dear Anthony, I think and hope that George was happy and proud to have you. UDO is an amazing brand since its launch. About Hardware, it's ambicious, it sounds round and bright, I just desire it for me. One day, soon... Please tell me if you enjoy it.
This company is well worth following. The Super 6 and 8 are lovely, and the Gemini multiplies the possibilities, with a bump in price. They are not cheap, but they seem well conceived and beautifully realized as playable instruments.
It sounds as good as the Summit, both have digital FPGA into analog filters. However the Summit has tons more effects and other features. Both are nice.
...just missed the live stream. My opinion about the UDOs is that there's a lot more under the aesthetic hood, f. e. the FPGAs also produce digital spectra, and as far as I know, the UDOs are the only binaural HW synths to date. Don't ask me what it"s exactly. It has to do with the stereo spreading but's more sophisticated. Since you understandingly seem to like the synth, I would definitely go for the Gemini. Since, as far as I know, it does without mod matrix, you don't get bored that quickly through layering sounds & spectra. Since (like heard in the vid) the LFO can act as 6th oscillator I assume there might be tracking for LFO Rate as well Otherwise it were "just" an audio rate LFO, what I don't believe.
Yeah, I’ve been a big fan, really, since before their first synth was making noise.. just by hearing the passion and how they were talking about synth design
Nice to see new synths, Anthony do you have a Korg polysix ? It was my first, sold it yeas ago. Would like to see you play something on one. Thanks Terence
@@caleykelly yeah it's really fun to use as well. Very immediate and the oscillator also has a single cycle waveform. So you can get a lot more tonal variety compared to standard analog oscillators
Not sure how one could have missed the Super Gemini. It's possibly the greatest synth in the last 10 years. Of course the 3rd Wave is amazing too. Waldorf Quantum and Moog One are fantastic, but not really immediate, like UDO.
de-esser , wow, that guys voice made me have to deal with t just to watch it. had to realtime de-ess him. I like how those boards look like the roland 707
Price vs. Super Gemini is understandable, but not great IMHO. Internal observations and/or musician feedback that Gemini is BIG was 1 part of making this. The other was many (most if being brutally honest) just load a patch then twiddle cutoff and maybe an EG a bit. How many place a high value on seeing EXACTLY what both layers are doing live? Losing 2 (4 really) voices, the ribbon and 2nd layer interface for $500 is not a choice I would ever take. However, size/weight savings for losing something you do not value much could be just the ticket for some? Were I in that boat I would more likely go Super 6 desktop instead and pair it with a polyAT controller or synth.
Anthony, you told them very clearly that that you really liked the 8 voice unit- yet they were a bit thick (playing it off?) even with the pauses you provided after your praise for the machine wherein they had ample opportunity to offer you one. 🤷🏻♂️I would've kicked you down as you're a legend and would be a top drawer user to reference!
Pretty skeptical about dropping this kind of money on digital. I have 3k headphones so I’m going to listen very carefully. Inspiration is obviously Roland sliders. I fully believe in digital but I have fallen in love with the idea of software/ midi/computer. Digital is great but my iPad which was 1.5k runs some pretty amazing synth programs and they will also run from my iphone also 1.5k but these synths are usually 15 bucks with the exception of pianoteq that is 150 bucks. With that being said these seem to be the coolest digital synths around.

Some great sounds at around 12:00 . Lovely modulations , reminiscent of the sort of things you can get from the VCS3 , due to then looping envelopes 🎶
Amazing, didn't know about these guys! What a beautiful instrument. Thanks for showing us what's out there!
Loving these almost daily uploads from my favorite YT channel!

I have the super 6 desktop one. I love it.
Great sounding synth. I like what he said about the orchestral idea.
wow! great demo and insights. Another synth added to my GAS list
Anthony! Would love to see you play the Super Gemini and get your thoughts - its UDO's flagship. Thanks for this demo!

"Great Job" Yes, this synth is very emotional and expressive.
Wow these guys seem to be making some really nice gear.
Fatar key beds are really nice to play.
Their synths just keep getting better!

Great questions and playing as always Anthony! Cheers 🍻
Wow! Dreamy design & features. Seems very playful, intuitive & fun….did you treat yourself? You are most certainly worth it Sir!

That sounds wonderful. Get a big artist behind it and ride the wave.
😎 no doubt Anthony will dive deeper than most ! 🎵
Beautiful synth. I played the UDO last years superbooth as well as this year. If money wasnt an issue i would get it immediately ;)
Love UDO! George is the man!
I own the Gemini and spend many hours getting lost in it :)
Small company, really great synth.
I think I've become addicted to your hands, hahahaha. Great video❤.

This is so cool, it kind of reminds me of a CS 80! I hope it will be somewhat affordable.
Great times we are in
That's a nice bit of kit ❤
Those are very nice synths

An awesome synth, a very very very affordable binaural synth that has its own character. Love it.

George has a prototype in his shop that is AMAZING !!!!
It’s a one-of-a-kind synth that helped him start this U.D.O. journey ….
Ok, now I need one.
It's funny, by about halfway I was thinking "Does this guy know who he's standing next to?" and just then he handed over the reigns to the master.
There are a couple of design decisions I would've done differently, but this thing sounds the biz
I'm going to try that sine waves and wind witchcraft
Great vid! The most confusing release ever. I heard they’re going to raise the price of the Gemini did they mention that at all?
Beautiful engineering there. Did I catch that the 8 has digital oscillators?
all UDO instruments have digital FPGA oscillators going through analog filters
@@itsdrawkcab5899 Cool. I thought 100% analog. I love the sound/flexibility of hybrid.

Lol...he finally let you have a play, you basically had to pull him away from it. "" oi ! My TURN ! ""
I was most surprised by the great sound and that it's mostly manufactured in Europe and not China.
Sounds like a Kraftwerk machine.
Seeing this MF hands makes my hair stand like thriller.
sUper DOoper UDO.

It's FPGA, so you can't run the same technology on your PC or iPad, they're fundamentally different
Everything pales in comparison to the Continuum setup in your house Anthony, but thanks for sharing these beautiful sounds nonetheless.
🫀🫀🫀
Analog synths should always come with analog delay. I SEE DEAD POEOPLE
Why is this synth so soft 😅
He needs sum harder patches
