You should to compile a rating system of amps. With power output, heat, price, low ohm stability? That would make each video more of a competition. It would also help us pick good amps out.
So for manufactures who's Amps are +/- 5% of their rated numbers. Maybe they pull X number of Amps off the line and list the average as their rated capability?
@downhilldaddy5282 And that's the difference between high end and low end. Reliability and longevity. I would dare say this amp will not last as long as say a JL or Fosgate.
Well my 5yr old DC Audio 1.2k blew while turning on,it could be something minor. Instead of sending it in I ordered this last night from Amazon and it arrived today. Granted the Hyanka 1200D would of been a more apples:apples to the 1.2k,I wanted a touch more power to push my 2 12" P3 at 2 ohm. Someone remind me to give an update here on the 1500.
Do you have a hardware leader board somewhere of items you reviewed / tested? Maybe different price ranges / setups like raw drivers / components vs box setups?
I'm more interested in the longevity of these Amazon-China amps? We all know JL Audio amps last for MANY years as well as other classic well-made amps. Tests are GREAT, but how long will you have it with constant use.
I was wondering, if u try the DB11 by Rockville.. dope amp.. I have in my truck.. with my audio pipe shallow 10… the 10 hits hard and amp stays cool… The amp is only $89 dollars
Big d can you please do an amp dyno on the Pyle pta1000 pro amp I am using this amp to power my Skar audio subs and I just don’t know if the ratings are correct can you please dyno it
@Covencraft The AD1 dyno has 3 different power tests. Certified measures power up to 1% distortion. Uncertified measures up to clipping, which is usually between 5% and 10% distortion. Then the dynamic test is just a short pulse of power.
You set the amp gain for the dyno with a specific procedure. The gain will be higher than normal. The dyno then analyzes the power output and only shows the power for that particular test. So if you're doing a certified test, the amplifier will be putting out more power than the dyno shows. The dyno stops measuring once it hits 1% distortion and shows that number.
The dynamic power is what I go for. So when the bass hits there’s enough power. It’s crazy how some amps put out more power(dynamic) when powering speakers than on the dyno. Of course if the meters are reading correctly.
A lot of that has to do with how much impedance rise you're getting from your particular subs and enclosure. It's very different from a resistive load.
2 schools of thought here... These manufacturers should dyno then and under rate them... Call it a 1400 and rate it 1400 then over deliver... But they went the other route.. Rate it high to look attractive and assume 99% of people won't dyno it lol
For the price, not bad. But for the price I'd rather go with Ocean Audio. But the truth is, a person would likely be better off spending $50-$70 more and getting a 2000.1 Taramps.

0.5 ohm DC. So you have to account for the impedance rise.
