oh boy we finally get more Angeal content and looks like we are going to dive into Sephiroth's mind involving Hojo and what looks like possibly the early signs of his insanity.
Wow, we could end up getting two new characters!! Young Angeal and Genesis!! That would be SICK!! If I had to predict, chapter 9 and 10 will focus on how they met, their friendship, and their time together as Soldiers. The deadliest trio to ever walk Gaia's lands, Sephiroth, Angeal, and Genesis. Imagine if in part 3 we get a mini chapter to sample the power the trio had as a team? I wonder what kind of monster or demon would be able to challenge their might? I also think this new content if it's based on what I just mentioned, could potentially be the cut content from Crisis Core that was originally meant to be part of it.
Yea, everything Sephiroth does to Cloud is him projecting. It's why he loves to call him a hollow puppet. He knows they're similar. Even during Cloud's trial, Sephiroth tells him to burn everything to the ground... just like he did (referring to Nibleheim) and the imagery in that shot is identical with Cloud facing the wall of fire like Sephiroth in that infamous scene. Also when Seph is younger he experiences another headache while in the Nible manor then Hojo's words pop up telling him he has to endure the pain and it'll make him stronger, it's literally what Sephiroth tells Cloud.
So looks like we’ve got: Young Angeal and Sephiroth, young Genesis and his obsession with Loveless can’t be far behind. Looks like we’ll see how they became friends and maybe why Genesis resents Sephiroth so much. The cameraman looks similar to Reeve, I wonder if that was intentional, like maybe he’s family or something. It looks like he ends up as a black robe. Most likely Hojo working behind the scenes to ensure certain inconvenient truths never come to light by using people who know too much as test subjects. Something that looks like a horror movie. If the first set of chapters were setting up Sephiroth as a hopeful character this set looks like it brings despair.

They have the potential to be the most disturbing father-son pair in the story, especially if they are going to make Hojo this horror movie figure. I suspect I’ll be relieved Sephiroth never knew that Hojo was his father after this.
Oh did i just hear *Tomoaki Maeno* 's voice (Genshin players might know him as Zhongli's JP VA) as.. perhaps *Young Angeal* ? The voice and the way he speaks kind of give me the vibe when Kazuhiko Inoue voiced the older Angeal.
It's sad but the current industry no longer allows for full-fledged spin-off games like Crisis Core, or even Dirge of Cerberus. Now, good stories that could have been their own amazing voice-acted entry are siphoned and drip-fed slowly into mobile games over the span of months and years. To lure potential players to their more lucrative business model. What they're missing though is that if you launch a good product it will be remembered for a long time (see: Crisis Core). No one will ever miss a mobile game after it has been shut down. The best we can hope for is that some day First Soldier actually gets a console remake but that has never happened before.

The thing that bothers me the most is that most of the First Soldier storyline is now essential to know about when you play the RE:Trilogy and the majority of FF7 fans are probably not playing this gacha game and get confused when they see characters like Glenn appear. I also find it odd that Square is spending money on new CGI scenes for a mobile game when they could've just made a Yuffie-style DLC for Rebirth but with Sephiroth as MC while we wait for the 3rd game. Like they already have his gameplay fully developed and its such a waste to only use it for 1 VR mission. Square really does make some weird business decisions sometimes.

Hmm.. I wonder if that's Jenova manifesting as Hojo in Sephiroth's mind? They say Jenova can become those you hate, those you fear, and those you love. It's similar to Cloud and his Jenova/Seph hallucinations... then again it's hinted that Hojo himself may have gone crazy because of Jenova too. She/it can also manipulate memories. That green glitch/headache that Sephiroth experienced when remembering Rosen, could that be Jenova altering something? We see it happening with Cloud all the time.
The color of the aura Hojo is letting off is interesting to me. Its the same color pink/purple that Jenova is (both her body and the glow she lets off) in the scene when Cloud looks into her pod in the OG FFVII. Even the flecks of blue in the aura are the same color of the blue eyeballs dotted all over her body in that scene.. 🤔 Obviously the connection between Hojo and Jenova runs deep as the story lays out but that really jumped out at me.
Well now we know where Sephiroth got his good looks. Okay no but seriously. Who else saw it coming that Hojo wouldn't be half bad looking as his younger self?

There are multiple campaigns in Ever Crisis. This campaign is called First Soldier. It's just called that because you play with the characters from that game.

Sephiroth being nuanced was already a thing since Crisis Core (17 years ago). And even before that in the OG it was clear that there was some Jenova manipulation. One of the main discussion points back then was who was really in control, Jenova? Sephiroth? Did they alternate? So no, it's not something new.
