I don't think it's going to be "redemption" in a sense one may think. It'd be extremely lame, if they did a sort of redemption where Sephiroth goes like "welp, I'm so sorry guys" and all the good guys + him fight against Jenova or something. What would be better is him intending to merge all worlds into one, assimilate the entirety of Jenova and tons of energy from lifestream to become a demiurge and create an ideal world. Not any different from what his objective in OG was, but now that objective would be given a reason(instead of the generic I'm very evil, so I want to become a god). I think that flashback scene with Rosen can be used to show both his resolve and compassion. Meaning he's going to steel himself, while moving towards his idea of the better world, no matter how bloody the path ahead is and no matter how painful it may be for him.
Got the same perception. But he’s gonna sacrifice himself in the way to kill Jenova to make it possible (I mean, who better than him to know her weak spots). Somehow the media is going to tell to the public opinion: “sephiroth, believed dead once, reappeared to save this planet from an alien threat, a truly legendary hero”.
Que culpa tiene el de que su nacimiento fuera un experimento y a lo largo de su vida no tuviera ni padre ni madre quien estuviera con el para educarle en el buen camino. Merece redimirse.
This is probably a pretty good and also pretty sad metaphor for a destiny full of pain, that can become a part of you when you try to live up to orders and expectations instead of following your heart, your inner light or the higher aspirations of your soul.
Everybody is missing the point If game developers redeems Sephiroth they will end it, and woul screw the timeline of Advent Children, because what makes Sephiroth memorable is the he was a great guy who was turned insane after realizing what the company he fight for his all life did to him, so it makes you feel empathy for him in the end, he wasn't bad, he was manipulated So, that sad ending of his good side is what's made Sephiroth so iconic and timeless It's the same thing with Batman, you cant make a batman without the canonic event of him becoming an orphan I think that if they redeem him In some way it would be like the Doc Octopus redemption "I will not die as a monster" kind of thing
Thanks for posting this. I didn't want to go through the stage fight again to view it. It PAINS me that the cut-scene quality is this poor on max quality in-game settings! Not sure why they did this. To avoid a buffering load screen? Guaranteed they made these scenes in native 4k and then uploaded them in 720p. GIVE US THE 4K QUALITY CUT-SCENES!
@@ji94games Ya I play on multiple devices. I just watched this cut-scene on PC on ultra settings and it's just blurry and poorly rendered. My point is: if they're producing them on their end in 4k quality, why put them into the game in poor quality? At the very LEAST: they could upload the original quality to their TH-cam channel or something so we can see what I call the "real" version. It's nice that you don't mind getting whatever quality they decide to pump out and be content with that, but for anyone that cares about quality cut-scenes, give people the choice of seeing them. Costs them nothing to upload vids to their TH-cam channel. Just good marketing for the game.

After watching this, I have a strong feeling that Square Enix is going to redeem Sephiroth at the end of FF7 remake trilogy.
Thats really possible

Yes. Seph deserves a redemption. He's such a likeable character.

Then they change the storyline or at least make a new one
The city of the ancients at the end topped it all offf
SE stop hurting children!! And stop hurting me, please! This is absolutely heartbreaking!

Better than them trying to make him act like he didn't burn down an entire village, killing most of the residents.
I don't why but, for me the FF7 series is the best story from final fantasy series. The storyline was amazed me.

I was hoping that he didn't kill him too. Seph should have looked, or created, another option.
