Textbook run. 0 mistakes. I wouldn't have left hell the first time until getting a mirror and a mace, but that doesn't matter when you luck out and get a mirror on your FIRST mimic kill... and then complained about useless mimic drops... When I did a timing run to get a workbench as fast as possible, I got shoe spikes 50% of the time. With extreme luck and a little skill, you can get NPC's in 7 hours, but with a couple mistakes and bad luck it could take 20. That does not include the time spent AFK'ing for a full desert.
Thank you! That's high praise from the maps creator. I think the main reason I left hell was out of boredom, as killing nothing but lava slimes for hours is not particularly stimulating even if it is the most efficient way to progress. I probably could have got the workbench at around 8 hours if I didn't afk the sand
@@constantdemonics Me? Not exactly, I made the map that's torturing people, so sadist is probably more appropriate. Here's the thing though, I've seen concept maps that are far more cruel and unplayable. A skyblock run with no starter tools that requires killing harpies with falling stars during christmas to get blocks exists for example. Heck, this isn't even the hardest skyblock challenge I've made. That would be the secret "no mode" option in Brutal Skyblock.
@@sebaq I do associate it with videos with youtubers screaming in your ears, editing that makes sure you never click off, a bunch of filler to pad out watch time, and where you'd be lucky to not encounter misinformation. I guess I just can't like this thumbnail style anymore because of the people who use it.
Yooo, this is crazy, I remember after you posted the first shimmerblock episode I wanted to try it out, but when looking for the map I accidentally downloaded shimmering skies, me having no idea how to play it just sat at the surface and killed frozen zombies until I got a full set of snow armor before quitting It’s honestly amazing seeing someone who I truly enjoy watching to do this challenge, becuase not only do o now want to do it, I also know how! 10/10 would recommend ;)

I just realized at the start of the video he can just shimmer his copper tools for wood and when he dies he can get his copper tools back so those 12 hours for the work bench was all for nothing lmao
@matthewmccullough9336 because this map is not intended to be played in mediumcore. The challenge comes from figuring out how to obtain certain items, not from losing your items to the void
Very good video, defiantly worth the wait. I'm interested to see what part 2 will be like. I've always wanted someone to do a video series like this on an extremely hard skyblock, there are some other people who have but i find yours more interesting probably because you made shimmerblock and know what your doing, actually i guess i also had a series like this with terrablock but your videos are better so I'm not counting mine. also the map i was referencing in my comment on your community post was the one i basically stole from kinkoos and made it slightly harder which is way harder then terrablock.
You should definitely count your own! They’re what got me interested in making a skyblock in the first place, then when shimmer came out it all fell into place for ShimmerBlock. I don’t think I’ll want to do and skyblocks more grindy than this, in vanilla at least. I’m excited to see how 1.5 changes the meta though
@@ChiefLogan_ Vanilla skyblock are reaching, if not have reached, the peek, i remember a few years ago that's when there was room for improvement and everyone was jumping on the skyblock thing, and shimmer brought a hole new realm of possibility's same goes with the secret seeds, so im thinking and hoping 1.4.5 will bring large changes which will allow people to make even more limiting and harder skyblocks, i mean we already know meteorite, the angler and some other stuff will be possible in i think every world and progression will be a lot faster due to slimes dropping acorns and such.
@@crawdad105 Knowing what little I do about what's coming, Skyblock is probably going to get easier, not harder. Altars and dungeon supplies will always be available. The potential for interesting solutions is still there, but it comes down to how the first stone and dirt will be available, and at that point, it almost certainly will be a lot simpler than my cruel but interesting methods. I agree with vanilla having reached it's peek. I made a skyblock mod late last year with the thought that it'll be the last chance to make my "ultimate" version of skyblock before it's added to the game officially and made far more accessible to the general public.
@@Freedbot I'm hoping the new update will at least bring things that allow for a more complicated and restrictive world. i was also going to make a skyblock mod with the idea that it fallows basically the vanilla path but has some slight changes to make it slightly easier while still requiring grinding, i didn't get far though, basically all i got was snow clouds would spawn snow then i realized you had already made a skyblock mod so i didn't bother also making one. also not sure if you saw the video, it wasn't linked in your discord server, but Wild lmao made a video of "the Ultimate" terraria skyblock mod, i haven't watched the video but its a similar topic so i figured id mention it here.

Both "Brutals" (yes I'm bad at naming), have built in progression choices that change how you play the map and how hard the puzzles are to solve. The hardest way to play either, is to choose nothing. The mod is especially in need of attention so that people know how to install the mod pack and look up the extra mod items in Recipe Browser to read their tooltips for hints.

I happened to beat terraria for the first time in remix seed yesterday so I guessed mimics easily. And by the first time I mean that I've never beaten terraria except for when I was a kid and mech were final bosses.

Because everything was dangerous, and because I was playing on mediumcore, I was not eager to rush bosses or doing anything dangerous. So I would instead chill, fish, build and do other stuff I've never done. Except for golf, I'm not THAT bored. The results to taking things slow were great. I got anch shield, cellphone, endless buckets, golden fishing rod, stick of discord and a bunch of other items I never held in my hands before. I think I made a wrong impression with my comment tho, I've reached moon lord before. I just always loose interest after mech bosses because plantera golem and cultist are too easy for me, and marchians, eclipse, updated dungeon, biome keys and Halloween/christmas moons seemed pointless because you get the best weapons from pillars anyways. And I couldn't beat moon lord because I didn't understand how to fight him and refused to look it up. My problem all along was the fact that friends shamed me for liking defence reforging and being a tank, as it's for noobs and useless on higher difficulty anyways, and said pro players only do glass cannon builds. And for years i belived them. But this year i came back to terraria and desided to try the defence build. I liked it so much in expert mode I desided to drop my world and go straight into legendary.
The hunger mechanic mostly just adds unavoidable deaths in vanilla skyblocks, but I did account for it in my Skyblock Brutalism mod. Basically, I just added some junky food from gel that's only good enough to keep you from death, making a hardcore run on Zenith seed technically viable... but certainly still insane. It requires speed and luck to get enough blocks and slimes in time... and I would never play it on those settings. Far too evil.

Exectly how many hours umm I kind of have beaten slime god in infernuim hardcore one hp so ummm about 200 or 300 hundreds hours on calamity wiki and double that for the normal

Honestly defense builds are so much more fun to me than glass cannons too. Dying isn’t fun

Any advice to get mimics spawning I don’t have enough rope to get to the underworld and have only found 2 mimics in 20 hours.
If this is other people’s problem I find that extending the bridge with resources from slimes makes mimics spawn pretty fast.

Mimics can’t fall through platforms, so you can use that to your advantage
