- Hello friends,
Please don't abuse your lenses, if you want to clean or repair them, there are tons of videos, blogs, articles, and repair manuals to help you do the job effectively. And a bit less common these days, very skilled repair technicians that can help.
With that being said, a friend bought this Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 AF from a guy who did not take at all that advice and completely massacred the lens, trying to do...........well, whatever he was trying to do. In any case, it wasn't a repair.

Excellent tutorial. The vid quality is great 👍
Thanks a lot my friend.
I'm always watching at 480dpi, so 4K for my taste is rather usless luxury.Excellent video as usual.
I tried 4K but abandonned it quickly as videos take a ridiculous amount of space. Thanks.
Excellent presentation as usual - professional and comprehensive. Thank you.
Thanks a lot !
Hi there! What’s the name of the tool you’re using here at 2:14 ? I can’t seem to find one and I’m pretty sure that there’s no other way to open it without that.
Hi, rubber tools, there is a link in the description. Cheers
Greetings from Canada. I have a question that I can't seem to find anywhere and I'm hoping you can help. My Nikon 105 - 2.5 is very clean and beautiful shape but it has a loose retractable lens hood. I've seen your videos on the 105 and I've dismantled the lens but I can't figure out how to remove the lens hood from the front piece. Thanks.
Hi Mark, I took a look to a 105mm, in my disassembly video th-cam.com/video/0CDrqSLDTnc/w-d-xo.html there are two screws that are to be loose to remove the barrel, but, there is also a small one at about 90° from the two others. I guess this one allows to remove the front ring and thus the hood. Cheers.
What screwdriver are you using ? Thanks i got it in the description.
You're welcome. Don't forget to share the channel with friends :)
Gracias hombre !
Your friend is very lucky !
Very lucky indeed !
Good Video, nice and slowly explaind.
But please don't assemble the aperture with these oily Blades.
If you have the Lens open, clean all that Parts
Just my 2 cent
Thanks for the advice. I like to keep repair focused on one single issue, I have the video for the aperture blades cleaning coming soon. Cheers.
🖤
Thanks !
:)
You are kidding, right? You disassembled the lens, removed the aperture blades and put them back WITHOUT cleaning the oil off of them? You really can’t see the big oil spots on the iris blades???
the goal of the repair was not cleaning the blades. I have a lot of other specific videos for that. Cheers.
