Off Topic: I first heard that Robert Frost poem when I was in scouts, and it runs through my head every time I come across a fork in the trail. It really has made all the difference. :)
G'day Mark, love this one mate, that'd suit me down to the ground for a short hike/picnic. I'd probably get away without it in my climate, though I would like to see a pre-heat tube, ...... just to make sure in winter. To be honest I've had very good luck with Piezo, though I always have several other options, so I'd forego that for the tube ; ) Personally, I reckon a case is much better than a bag, even before the multi-use. i.e. the crush factor in a pack. Furthermore, yes you can certainly carry gas stoves in pots/mugs to fully negate the crush, but if it's got its own case, that storage can then be free for other items. In this instance, whether it works as a cosy or not, it does still give you somewhere to put the thing when the stove is in use, close to the unit without being another thing to trip over and/or lose. Cheers Duke.
I have another Fire Maple stove I have been holding on to waiting for cold weather. Bigger, more powerful and has a generator/pre-heat tube. Thanks for commenting Duke
One issue with the canister cover/case, is gas canisters will naturally get quite cold as they get used from the process of the liquid turning back into gas (this is also partly why isobutane stoves have issues in winter), so it is counter productive to keep it in the case as you are just keeping the cold it generates in. But it isn't a winter stove anyways... no heating tube, so not designed to run inverted. Otherwise it is a nice design and would work well with a foil windscreen. Cheers!
Thanks for sharing. This looks like it uses the more expensive format butane canisters... will have to use an adapter to make it use the thriftier choice. $35USD is a pretty reasonable price for such a stout & stable stove.
It is set up for use with gas canisters with a Lindal valve but can be used on butane or 1lb propane cylinders with the correct adapters. Thanks for commenting
Thanks Mark. I've been looking at this stove for awhile. Thinking of getting two, connecting them to a dual valve. Then connecting, by adaptor, to a 1 pound refillable propane tank. This would be our stove system for kayak/canoe camping. Any thoughts?
Do you think it burns hot enough to make crepes?.........😬 Okay, that's a beast of a burner. I like the carrying case. It could pair up nicely with the green one pound canisters. ✌️🇺🇸🇨🇦✌️

Very much my personal mantra as well. Thanks for commenting
A good looking option there Mark. Thanks for sharing.
Great piece of kit for sure. Thanks for commenting Steve
I like the large pot stands. The problem with most camp stoves is they can't accommodate a large pot.
True. Most stoves are intended for smaller, lighter pots. This stove can be used with a larger range of pots and pans. Thanks for commenting
Cool little stove and thanks for sharing! 👍Take care my friend and Cheers!
You bet. Thanks for commenting

Yes, exactly. Thanks for commenting
So far this is my first and only canister stove so I can't compare it with other stoves but it suits my needs very well :).
Great stove for sure. Heavier than many but super solid. Thanks for commenting
Short wide and stable. Nice!
Right on. Thanks for commenting

Nice stove. I tried to buy one on Amazon, not available yet. Fire Maple's site charged too much shipping. I'll wait.
Worth watching for. Thanks for commenting

Wow, well thought out. My only reservation would be performance in cold weather. Otherwise, hard to beat that as a cook system. Thanks for commenting

I am sure I could burn a few crepes with this. Thanks for commenting

Do I ever like the plastic lidded case! Less bends.
True. Not ultra-light but it is strong. Of course, nothing about this setup is ultra-light So it goes together well. Thanks for commenting
