The beauty of a flame (campfire, stove, fireplace or candle light), I often say "Its 500,000 year old 'TV'... the programming hasen't changed and it's still worth watching"
Never been said better! Thanks for watching!!
My friends and I have been calling TVs "the big campfire" and phones "the little campfire" for years 😂
Those stoves have been used for more than a hundred years for heating Sad Irons for ironing clothes. They are commonly found in antique shops in the States and usually are less than $75. I have several including a double one.
Not my price range, but the idea of a flame lamp with cooking ability is quite appealing. Sitting in the front of a bell tent around such a cooking lamp, talking and cooking dinner… But also at home, a session of an armchair roleplaying game (similar to better known tabletop roleplaying games, just with emphasis on telling a story, not on miniatures fighting on the table), combined with a slowcooker meal when the party gets hungry, or maybe just Raclette… Waiting for the not limited, cheaper standard edition, or maybe for a competitor. But no big deal if nothing in my price range ever shows up, it’s something I would like to have, but not really something I need.
you said it man! Have a look at the Thous Winds one, it's a bit cheaper but slightly smaller.
I love this, I WANT ONE, take my money! Then I saw the price (CA$499.00), humm. Limited... hummmm... DAM! I showed the video to my wife and I thought she would love it and say get one but most of the things coming out of her mouth was "he's so cute" she laughed every time you giggled talking about it, she was like OMG he is like a kid with a new bike! She might still let me get one though ;)
Just showed this to my wife and she laughed! Lol! Haha I love the stove but do have a look at the Thous Winds one. It’s 200 cheaper and nearly the same.
@@TheMidweekEscapeArtist Yep I saw that one while looking for this one and the design is similar, but the material is Stainless Steel and not Iron. The Iron will give off much more heat than the stainless steel version and that is part of the attraction. Also the ThousWinds version is a good two inches smaller in all dimensions and while they show a photo of a person cooking in a grill on top of the unit, they do not apparently sell the grill on their site and because of the size, I don't think I could use the Winnerwell Iron grill with it :( They have some other accessories on their site that look interesting and I may pick up one or two but as for the stove itself, The "winner" is Winnerwell :) No worries, she'll crack eventually! Thanks again , great video :) LOL I was on a roll, I just replied to like 10 people here asking different questions I had answers to. I am so psyched about this I could not stop myself!
Thous Winds do one the same for cheaper.
@@alexpervanoglu7420 I wish people would stop saying the Thouswinds is the same... It is not even CLOSE to this, not in size, not in material, not even close bro.
It's way to expensive 😂
This stove reminds me a bit of the paraffin heater we had in the kitchen, when I was a kid.
Of course the paraffin heater was quite a bit bigger, and you couldn't see the flame.
The smell of burning paraffin takes me back to those childhood days.
Had to pause this video to get information on the stove. This is so fun and nice to see your daughter being a good sport to try something out of the ordinary. Thank you for posting the video.
They're li.mited edition new but you can still find original ones.
These were made all over the 1700s and 1800s meant as train station lanterns but hobos stole them and used them in hobo camps, they also work well for keeping warm to.
The original ones also had the metal handle on them so you could carry them they didn't have the hinges on them.
Thous Winds do one that is cheaper and not limited edition
Now that is indeed one awesome little stove there brother! Excellent review and demo 👍
Very cool that you got to enjoy a bit of lunch with your daughter as well 👍
Cheers my friend!
Yeah it hard getting her in anything lol! Thanks for watching.
@@TheMidweekEscapeArtist I hear you there man. I have a daughter myself, so I know the struggle, lol. You're more than welcome by the way brother.
Hello, Thank you for the great review. I was really hesitant about this item. I had seen a different review where there was a lot of smoke. But after seeing your excellent review, you covered all my questions, and now I really want one. Thanks again.
The smoke is from having the wick out too far, easy to avoid ;-) thanks for watching!!
Outstanding presentation, the way man is supposed to live. Peace to you
Thanks for showing. I want one.
Imagine sitting in front of it in a power cut (I believe you guys call it a power outage 😊), with the flickering flame casting shadows on the walls. 😎
OMG!This is a Amazing little wonderful Oven ! Like a Victorian Camping Kamin With a Grill ! And what a wonderful Young Lady she shines more than the Fire in that oven ! Amazing good Video Sir greetings from Germany!

I've been very interested in these lately and you popped up in my recommendations 😂 I do find these very appealing but outrageously expensive!!✊️🔥✌️💚
I know right. Very pricey. Thous Winds do one a little cheaper if you wanted to have a look at that instead. Looks very similar.
@TheMidweekEscapeArtist I was asking a friend if he would review it love to see a side by side comparison!! I own a winnerwell wood stove and it's the best quality of my 3 other stoves
Du bezahlst den Namen noch mit. Da hat winner well das rad neu erfunden. 😂
Sadie was hilarious!! She has the "teen girl embarrassed by father" look down to a T. Lolol. My daughter has it down too. Seriously though you made me get one. Have a good one. P/s Have Sadie in more vids
Mate, it's hard having a teen :-) She secretly loves being in the vids though. We're actually going away tomorrow on a 4x4 trip and she's very excited. I might let her drive a small section if it's safe! Thanks for watching!
Just watched your video, Great! I do love these little burner, had an antique one “Beatrice Stove” awhile back, sold it but want to get another one. They are great to use on those cold winters nights
I love the 'Tiny' feature of this unit!
I also worry about actually using that top as a 'Stove'?! The base seems WAY too narrow (One/The long side). It wouldn't take much to see it topple.
Aside from that? This looks damned nice!
I've just ordered a similar one, labelled (and presumably made) by some other company.
I think it looks really 😎
Even if you never used it, it'd make a beautiful display piece.
I’ve just seen this stove for the first time thanks to you mate… I’ve now liked, subscribed and also ordered one with accessories! 🤣
Awesome! I hope you like it as much as I do! Welcome to the channel!
A cool rainy night would be perfect with the little stove. I would probably leave it on, well after supper 🤗
Sounds great!
Good video. Thouswinds has the same stove for considerably cheaper. Down side is that they dont offer the criddle. Several Chinese sites list them for under $100, if you trust ordering thru them.
Hello, do you have any links to those sites? All I have found sell everything separately.
@marcoshernandez1427 Well in fact it isa not the "same stove". The ThousWinds version is made from 304 Stainless Steel and while it is a good material, it is NOT cast Iron and will not generate the kind of heat you would get from the cast iron version. Also as in my previous post, it is about 2 inches smaller in all dimensions so you would not be able to use the Winnerall's cat iron grill with it. And yes, I also noticed that they have a phot of someone cooking on a grill on their site but do not sell the appropriate sized grill...
The product this infomercial is pushing is complete garbage.
@@marcoshernandez1427 Ali Express sell the Thouswinds stove, albeit without the griddle.
@@andrewvautour1795 I suppose the upside to it being 304 Stainless, is that it will be quite a bit lighter, than the cast iron version.
Your enthusiasm is infectious, I think I need one now hahaha
Great demonstration. Accessories are included with it at this time (2-9-24) and I additionally used a discount code from the TH-camr I first saw this on.
Considering you bought this yourself your review is absolutely stonking! So good I came here from the Winnerwell website where your video is ☺

Glad to hear it
James of Waypoint Survival showed/used an 1880s Florence brand of your stove.

Very cool piece of kit. Like you say there are more utilitarian options available. They won't make you smile as much when using them though. Thous Winds Firedance looks like a good budget alternative.
I really like that one too!!! Thanks for watching!

Coleman do a filter funnel which makes adding kerosene a lot easier. I use one for my Feuerhand storm lantern. I'd definitely recommend getting one.
Love it !
They should have put a cary handle on it so you could cary it around lit at night for a lamp.
I've wanted one they used to make this style stove as a home range in the 30s during ww2 It's kind sad these are as expensive as they are cause they are so nice and multi-purpose but not 400 bucks atm
Hi. I’ve just purchased an original stove as in your video. Looks the same as yours but window only on one side.
Looks nice like a soapstone wood heater. I have had an old GI M50 single burner stove and the integrated 2 pan carrying system. This "Tanker Stove" is 70 years old. It will burn white gas, naphtha, mogas, diesel fuel, probably Ron Rico 151 (a waste of good drinking booze though). For car camping the weight wouldn't really matter but ounces equal pounds when you carry it. I think that I'll stick with my Coleman single burner. If it needs repair I can send it back to Coleman and for $50.00 it will come back running like you just bought it. Soup, eggs, bacon, fried spuds in a cast iron skillet. If I need light I'll use my candle lantern light
How beautiful!
In fact this is a very nice furnace with high BTU rating. If they made this out of aluminum or low plate steel it would be an alternative to a foldable woodstove. If it burns 6-12 hours on 1 liter it is the best option ever. You got a heater, cooker and light.
It’s a cool stove, but I think I would rather have the nomad view medium for the same price
Be quick about it, the cops are coming.🤣🤣🤣
Great job, that's a cool stove.
Like a little campfire.
Right on
Great review! I got notified by Winnerwell about the development of this stove before it was produced and I was going to get in on the presale but the price at the time was a bit much for me. This video sold me on the idea that maybe I really do need one! So I just ordered one! Thanks!
PS. Where did you got those Tongs?
Thous Winds do one cheaper
I love it . . . BUT IT’S FOUR HUNDRED FRICKN DOLLARS!
I KNOW! It’s ridiculously priced. I paid with my own money and I’m still hurting ;-) but so worth it for me.
@@TheMidweekEscapeArtist I like your thinking!
Guilty of it myself.

You’re gonna love it! Let me know how you go!
It’s cool for sure
Just as a display piece, it'd be very 😎
I want one but i im going to remodel my backyard first and build a brick oven then ill get one
I'd definitely recommend spending a few dollars on a Carbon Monoxide Alarm.
Nice stove, I wonder how it would work in windy conditions while camping. I would likely use Kerosene as I have other stoves and heaters that use Kerosene.
@@glengarritysr9997 it’s not great in the wind. I’d be sure to use a windscreen with this one.
Good video, however...
Cast iron should be seasoned with flax oil in an oven, 2 coats, for best results. You can use the dietary supplement flax seed capsules. It forms a harder surface when you use it than vegetable oil, and the grease and oil will separate from the seasoning more easily when cleaning the cast iron.
Oh yes, that's VERY nice, and waaay beyond my means.
These look great! Does the wick ever need replacing?
Yes eventually you’ll need a new one, but they are easy to find on Amazon.
Lets create the best thing ever... and make it limited in order to not earn more money, and make people crazy.. For no fcking reason.
I want one ! I did look them up those I have seen a quite expensive I was surprised by pricing. When I find one at a more reasonable price I will get one but not 300.00 US
That is a "sad iron stove" you can get them pretty inexpensively for those who are interested.
Could be a dumb question but is it meant to be leak proof or no? I don’t think it is just due to the build and physics of it. If not you’ll have to be careful when traveling and keep it upright.
Very unlikely, the liquid reservoir is sealed but it will leak out the top if it tips over. Yeah transit will be the real test! Thanks for watching!
The stove is cool, but I’m most interested in what you are calling “chorizo”. I grew up in Southern California and currently live in Arizona. I’ve also visited Mexico many times, and I have never seen chorizo that looked like that. I’m very curious how it tastes.
It’s like a Smokey, spicy, tasty pork sausage. I’m sure it’s not traditional chorizo (very few things here are actually traditional) but is a nice little number ;-)
I live in Spain and you can get chorizo that looks like that.
Can you buy or does it come with extra wicks
Ah yes, garlic bread. The staple of Mediterranean cuisine. Jokes aside, beautiful stove and a great vid
We do eat it quite a bit here in Spain
I reckon it’s German engineering, so it’s a bottle opener in the first place and THAN a handle for the grill plate😉Nice vid, ATB from Germany…..
Chinese
You convinced me.
A mini heat source. There's nothing like this besides a solo mesa stove or a fire. There's the Cupid heater that's mini or a mr.buddy. but they lack the same warmth from a cute flame like a cast iron fireplace.
We have one. It is pricey but well made. We bought it with the coupon but still paid a lot.
I really wanted to see what it looks like in the dark.
I wonder how often the wicks need replacing and also if it gives off much ambient heat to warm the inside of a (properly ventilated) tent for example?
Provided you don't let it run out of fuel, the wick should last a long time.
It's the fuel that burns, unless/until it runs out of fuel, at which point the wick starts to burn.
They're back in stock now.
How much heat you think it gives off do you think it would keep a campervan warm during winter in UK
I have the opportunity too good and original. Double burner. But the seller does not Ship and he's two hundred miles away
Thous Winds do one almost the same for a lot less money.
I’d put a pot of water on the top for tea…
over 300.00 for a tiny stove is a bit much you could buy a small Kerosene stove for 1/2 that kind of money.
How long does it burn on low when you fill the lamp oil to the fullest capacity?
do you know how the max heat output? website states "Burning Time: Approx. 5 hours (depending on firepower)" - That would be ~1kW with 0,6l kerosene
My original was £25 GBP.
She totally has the wheres my beer face on.
Hahaha exactly!
You have had me very confused as i hear some very SAFFER words like noice but it saying South Australia. Loved the video
Can't understand wtf he's saying. Except, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, gorgeous, p.,p.,p.. Those folks accent sounds so pretentious and fake.
How about the smell? If used in a camper van do you thing it will have strong smell from burning the oil?
This is an outdoor stove, I can't recommend using it inside a camper van, please don't. I only recommend unscented lamp oil, it doesn't have any smell.
What was the price of the whole kit. Bag ang grill?
Where are these repop stoves made? I have been looking everywhere, and cannot find a listing. Thanks!
i got mine from Homecamp but i think they are sold out.
You're a true enthusiast, exactly the right person who should be reviewing this kind of gear. Good on your daughter for trying some of your seafood, even though she thought it wouldn't taste good. She discovered that prawns taste like butter (or buttered corn). Your video reminded me of this other candle stove i saw a fears ago. Both great stoves and great videos! th-cam.com/video/EtPoq4XHTn4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=qCkGD18iRojWvZsK

@vanmnguyen4451 Thous winds, mine just arrived and it's amazing. £140 delivered! Also had glass rather than plastic Mica.
@@furstyferret81 You get what you pay for, it is NOT cast iron, it is stainless steel and that is what makes the difference. Also good luck trying to find a skillet for it, it is about two inches smaller in all dimensions and even ThousWinds does not have one to fit it on their web site...
Expensive af!
There’s this really cool Asian pot that fits until I put it up. That’s what I’m hunting for. I have two of those one in black and one in red. There’s also the eggs cheaper than it is really cool. It has a little glass window on the little sides that mimics the flame chamber and you can see the water boiling. That’s what I’m looking for anyone know how to get that. Please get in contact with me. Thank you. I believe the parts come in red black and a dark green. I believe the sets come in black, red and green the black ones look more like cast-iron. The red one to me has more of aenamel look. Don’t know about the green?
How are the fumes if any?
Heavily depends on what you use in it. Unscented lamp oil produces no smell or fumes.
Not sure about the Mica window on something so expensive!
Mica is a naturally occurring mineral that can be split into thin, flexible sheets. It has several properties that make it useful in various applications, including its resistance to heat and its electrical insulating capabilities. Here are some considerations regarding mica versus glass for a product like a mini oil-fired grill or a tiny iron oven:
Advantages of Mica:
1. Heat Resistance: Mica can withstand high temperatures without melting or breaking, making it suitable for environments where heat is a factor.
2. Flexibility: Unlike glass, mica is flexible and less likely to shatter under stress, which can be advantageous in products that may experience vibrations or impacts.
3. Lightweight: Mica is lighter than glass, which can contribute to a more portable and user-friendly product.
4. Electrical Insulation: Mica is a good electrical insulator, which can be beneficial in applications where electrical safety is a concern.
Disadvantages of Mica:
1. Durability: Mica is not as hard or scratch-resistant as glass, making it more prone to surface damage over time.
2. Transparency: Mica is not as clear as glass, which might affect visibility if the window is meant to provide a clear view of the interior.
3. Perceived Quality: Consumers often perceive glass as a higher-quality material compared to mica. This perception can impact customer satisfaction and the perceived value of the product.
Customer Concerns:
The reviews you shared indicate that customers were disappointed by the use of mica instead of glass. The main issues raised were:
• Perceived Flimsiness: Customers felt that mica is flimsy and likened it to plastic, which suggests they were concerned about its durability and quality.
• Price Justification: Customers felt that the price of the product was not justified given the materials used, particularly the mica window.
Is Mica Better?
Whether mica is better than glass depends on the specific application and user needs:
• For applications where heat resistance and lightweight are critical, mica might be a better choice.
• For applications where durability, scratch resistance, and clear visibility are more important, glass might be preferred.
Conclusion:
The choice between mica and glass involves trade-offs. Mica offers benefits like heat resistance and flexibility but lacks the durability and clarity of glass. The negative customer reviews suggest that, in this case, the use of mica did not meet their expectations for quality and value. It’s essential for manufacturers to consider these factors and communicate the benefits of the chosen materials to their customers to manage expectations effectively.
HEAT CALCULATION: The tank holds 600ml. Kerosene has 131,840 btu/US gallon. There are 3.785 liters in a US gallon. A liter of kerosene has 34,845 btus. 600 ml of kerosene has 20,907 btus. If the flame is adjusted to give a run time of 5 hours, this is 4181 btus/hour or the equivalent of a 1500W space heater. BUT if the efficiency is less than 100%, that is, byproducts of CO and soot are produced, this would be lower. Would you use this in a confined space for heat? It's the same question for any unvented fuel-burning device. Today is September 21, 2024. I did order a kit from the company using their 15% discount, as a result of watching your video (thanks). The Stove, griddle, bag and 2 spare wicks cost me $384.54. No sales tax was charged, and UPS shipping was free. Shipping took 24 hours and delivery from time of order 6 days from Salt Lake City to Virginia.

Question could it be used indoors say to.heat a small camper van with using the odourless lamp oil or would it generate to much smoke ie having a overhead ceiling fan installed.
Als Ofen zum heizen geht der. Riecht nur etwas.
Kerosene-Based Fuel lanterns and stoves are safe for indoor use. Indigenous people in the north have been using lanterns and heaters for generations. My family had a cottage in the woods, very secluded with no electricity and we used Kerosene-Based Fuel lanterns and stoves exclusively and there was never a problem. We later switched to a cast iron wood burning pot belly stove for heating but again, we used the Kerosene-Based one for years. HOWEVER, because they burn oxygen (like any flame based devise) they produce carbon monoxide so make sure you have a well ventilated camper or tent. Use the same rules as you would with a Mr. Buddy Heater unit. They (like a Mr. Heater) are not recommended to keep on while sleeping but personally I have done it many times, again, make sure you have flow through ventilation and you are fine. Also note unlike a Mr. Buddy, they do not have an auto shutoff feature that activate when it's tipped over so DO BE CAREFUL, if it tips, fuel can leak out and that can be VERY BAD. Always make sure you have one of these fire blankets on hand and close by: www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0BVZ7TDK7/ref=ewc_pr_img_10?smid=A2VWS0TSRMSZRQ&th=1
