I do Dr. Ellie Phillips 5 step toothcare regime. She is in her 70's and a dentist and her teeth look AMAZING, like 30 year old teeth. I am age 54 and my teeth look amazing too! Steps are 1. Closys mouth rinse for 1 minute. 2. xylitol (I just use birch xylitol and put a tiny bit in my mouth move it around then swallow. 2. Brush with Crest REGULAR toothpaste massage gums and finishing with brushing teeth. 4. 1 minute swish in mouth original listerine 5. 1 minute swish in mouth mint ACT. Teeth are super white and my dentist said I am a dream patient! I only floss about 1x per week because Dr. Ellie said floss only to get food out of teeth as flossing is very hard on the gums and can contribute to gingivitus. I will say I have eaten a healthy high fruit and veggie diet no processed foods, no meat, no dairy for decades and decades.

Hello Jennifer, I normaly never comment on videos as I watch mostly to educate myself, not to interact with others. But I wanted to say that I think your approach to ageing, to skincare, to exercise, your diet and life is very honest and fantastic. I love seeing someone that provides facts as the current sience sees it, and also practice what they preach and has proof that the pudding is good. Thank you Jennifer for your thoughtful videos, you help me make decisons I think has been great for myself -I use more wide brim hats in the summer, sunsceen every day, tret or differin at night, silk bonnet when I sleep for my hair, azeliac acid morning and night, foot cream with urea, vaselin around my eyes at night, coconut oil before I wash my hair etc. I feel like these are low effort-high rewarding habits.
Question retarging this video- do you think a water pik would be a good alrernative to flossing?

I follow Dr. Ellie’s mouth care system. Bad breath, even in the morning rarely exists unless I am a bit dehydrated. Dr. Ellie worked with dentists in Germany that got to the bottom of gum disease and cavity prevention and sometimes reversal. She will go against some of the “research” but has the studies to back things up. She also believes in Xylitol and sells her own.

@@Shell.29 I have been on it for 3 months and I am making progress very slowly. I follow it to the letter and I am mostly dealing with some recession. I recommend the mints and not the gum. A large bag of mints is on sale on the Zellie’s site. I love the Cherry 🍒 Berry. Also, the softer toothbrush she recommends by Dr. Plotka is best. I also did a complete overhaul of my diet at the same time. For that I am following what Dr. Ken Berry recommends. He has a YT channel. I almost never get bad breath and that happened immediately.

Thank you for replying! I appreciate it. I've ordered mints and the rinse, having gotten the last 3 steps. I'll have to get the soft toothbrush. • @TexasLyoness
      @TexasLyoness 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

@@Shell.29 It sounds like you’re on your way to better teeth. Just keep doing Zellie’s program consistently and know it didn’t happen overnight, so it will take time. Consistency is key. Be sure to time the rinses like she says. Going too long can be an issue. The toothbrushes are pricey, but worth it. I love the new diet, but I fast a lot and only do one great meal a day usually. I feel amazing to say the least and rarely have cravings. I just went to church after not having gone for some months and people were commenting on the weight loss.

Well, if you only drink water, eat healthy, you are doing 90% right. But easier said than done.
For me, when I was a teenager I was obsessed with bad breath. I didn't like the dry feel in my mouth, tongue. So tried chewing gums, mouth wash. Then read a sport article about hydration, since then I drink 3-4 litre of water every day.

You should try a xylitol-based chewing gum; preferably the most natural one without other ingredients 🌸
Personally, I eat a lot of acidic foods with each meal -kimchi, for instance!-, and drink coffee a few times a day. As I don't believe in brushing more than twice, I chew xylitol gum or add some of it in powder form to green tea & sip on that between meals. Apparently it neutralizes bad bacteria and is generally quite good for the oral microbiome. Also very convenient for when you're outdoors and can't brush until later...

I’ve been told the “tols” aren’t to be consumed regularly as they can raise blood glucose levels, which suggests that diabetics shouldn't consume it, disrupt gut bacteria which has numerous effects but also can damage kidneys while being toxic to pets. I choose organic stevia, maple syrup or honey personally having been a prior user of erythritol.

I use toothpaste with xylitol and chewing gum and no cavities for the past 7 years and also the last cavity that i have before i started to use xylitol was totally healed, my dentist saw it in the beginning, but she said there is no bacteria in it, so she doesnt need to fix it.

Natural does not mean safe unfortunately. Essential oils, for example, have been classified as endocrine disrupters. Also many of them are sourced from the most polluted and unregulated places in the world and are often contaminated with toxic substances.

The Auromere toothpaste might not be as toxic-free as they say -- all of the problematic substances I mentioned above are in it. Even the EWG (known for its corruption, bias, and non-scientific practices) rates both toothpastes almost the same (orange category). I bet if it didn't rate some of the Auromere's exotic/unknown ingredients with zero data as completely safe, it would quickly jump into the red zone ranking, which would make it much worse than Colgate.

I appreciate all of your videos!! Such great tips and perspective. Would you consider doing a video on your wardrobe? I’d like to see how you decide to purchase clothing and shoes and I’d like to see your items. 🙏🏻🥰

Hey my friend, you need to remineralise your teeth. Try a toothpaste that does this but if they're really transparent then find a good dentist

It's been so long since I last saw your videos. I remember when you uploaded the video years ( ? ) prior talking about wanting to try youtube and you finally did it and I'm honestly so happy for you. I followed your castor oil eyelashes routine from back then and still am thankful to this day. So good to see you glowing and doing well, I aspire to be like you someday

Although I do not necessarily have the traditional sweet tooth, I do love a nice milk chocolate (preferably from ALDI). My wife does like the dark and I have not aquired taste for it. I may rethink that and see whats happens! Awesome video as always !!!

I love your personality. Despite not being a smiley kind of person, you still translate as authentic and I enjoy that you speak about serious matters with a serious tone. I'm the same way.

Boka makes a really good whiting toothpaste with hydroxyapatite and doesn't use toxic fluoride. My whole family uses it! We also don't use mouthwash because of the potential adverse effects.

Yes! I seem to get a ton of cavities from fluoride but zero cavities when I use none fluoride toothpaste. I haven’t had a cavity since I switched.

I’m worried about the teeth whitening toothpaste and the strips. Do they not destroy the teeth which is irreversible?
