    I (38M) am getting married to my beautiful girlfriend (35F) of four years in less than a week. This is my second engagement. Twelve years ago, I almost got married to my ex-girlfriend (38F). She was my high school sweetheart and we'd been together for almost ten years so naturally and we'd even lived together for five years. So naturally, I was ready to get married, and from the looks of it, so was she. My family loved my ex as well so they were thrilled when I announced the news of our engagement. But it didn't happen because just one day before the wedding, my ex ended up sleeping with my brother (34M).

    Wife's Friends: "She didn't deserve that!"
    Everyone: "This woman was under the impression that she was going to start an affair with your friend's fiance. You have empathy for a woman, happily ready to ruin your best friend's life?"

      So we’ll put. Those manipulative “friends” are appalling.
      Would encourage fiancé that their presence would only add toxicity. OP should mention that if they really care about her they’ll stay friends and understand how they blew it with the wedding ultimatum.
      Otherwise no big loss, moving on is a part of life.

      @@Jerseybytes2🎯🎯🎯exactly how I feel too! If I had to guess OP’s new wife was “that friend”. Every group has one. The one that is pretty, but not enough to where the others are threatened, they know they can easily get her to agree to just about anything and they know she will always side with them bc she doesn’t like to rock the boat and usually never has an opinion….well, until now, lol. Maybe not though 🤔

      This and I bet all those 'so called friends' would NEVER forgive their exes when they cheated on them and no revenge would ever be 'too much'
      Or maybe they are all cheaters too and believe a cheater should alway get a 'second change'
      Either way, not much is lost by losing them!

    • @borgerborgersen372
      @borgerborgersen372 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +16

      @@robertx8020 OP's wife explained she didn't think the prank was the reason her friends decided not to attend the wedding. They were obviously p*ssed OP's wife kept prioritizing OP instead of them so they just found a situation they could use as an excuse.
      It doesn't make sense that the friends of OP's wife would even care about how the ex was treated if they didn't know her.
      It happens too often that friends sabotage relationships because they don't want to lose their friend to the friend's fiancee. Especially if the friends don't like the fiancee. Anyway, OP's wife wanted to settle down and was relieved she no longer had to always do what the friend group wanted. So it's not a big deal it seemed the prank got unintentional consequences.

      this was definitely a call the police situation.
      police can by authority of the state commit (force) someone to mental health facility for evaluation instead of arrest, if the situation justifies arrest (continual criminal trespass does, among other applicable laws to situation)
      now the danger of call the police for mental health, is those suffering mental health breakdowns can quickly become extremely violent, the key is to keep any tool away from those suffering a breakdown, anything stabby including screwdrivers, kitchen utensils and pens as those can cause serious bodily injury via stab wounds with enough force or gouging of an eye; and thus if they get violent with one of those in their hand; it is now a deadly force encounter

There is tradition in some countries that its bad luck to see the bride before a wedding, or in the wedding dress, or he needs to come into her place of residency and do whatever symbolic ritual with her parents or between witnesses of both sides, before they could go to the church on the day. Its not that uncommon. Preplanned is horrible for obvious reasons. Maybe she really did have pre-wedding jitters and needed calming down and emotional support, but cheating is still cheating, whether it happened for the first time because they connected in the moment, or brother really was always there for her, whether she needed someone to listen, help when OP wasn't around, with his cock always at her service, and this kind of 'physical stress relief' was really a normal occurence for them. Even though they had no knowledge, relationship, or past experiences with anyone actually involved. They were mad at OP’s wife for not calling them so that they could roll up on the ex. How dare she let him decide how to deal with her. They expected to have this same control with everything that happened in OP’s relationship. Baby names, houses, vacations they aren’t even going on, OP’s career choices….I’ve seen this “squad first” attitude break up a lot of relationships.

  • @borgerborgersen372
    @borgerborgersen372 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +22

    I think OP is mainly NTA here because OP's ex AGAIN wanted to contribute to cheating. This time she wanted to make OP the cheater by luring him to cheat on his fiancee. She was overjoyed OP had suggested a hotel room so she probably expected some bedroom action.
    This shows she hasn't truly regretted what she did to OP initially. She seems like a selfish woman who does what she wants in the moment regardless of consequences. She had no thoughts at all about how hurt OP's fiancee would become if she managed to steal him from her. Stealing the bride's fiancee from her to prevent the marriage seems to be ok in her opinion. People in a relationship should be off limits.
    OP might be a little AH because he probably overdid his revenge by introducing the groomsmen with masks with his brother's face etc.
    Instead he should have just showed up at the hotel with his fiancee introducing her to his ex saying that this is how a faithful fiancee looks like. Then he could tell her that HE would never cheat on his fiancee so the ex is delusional thinking he would repeat her mistake cheating before the marriage. Then he could just finish it off by saying he has found his dream girl and will happily get married next week asking the ex to leave OP and his fiancee in peace.
    This would still be devastating to the ex, but not as humiliating as making a big scene with several people.
    Update after hearing the last update: The ex seems to have mental issues so she needs help and not being humiliated. OP and his wife saw that and helped the ex. We don't know if the mental breakdown of the ex started when she got news her ex (OP) would get married or after she was humiliated. So if the ex was mentally sick then neither were AH's.
    OP is lucky to have such a caring and empathetic wife. Not all wives would have tolerated having her life invaded by her husband's ex even if she had a mental breakdown. OP probably got a wakeup call too that revenge isn't important at all. He felt sorry for his ex and helped her to treatment and informed her parents when he realized what was going on with his ex. One can only feel sorry for her. Maybe she has felt miserable for years messing up her chance to get married with her stupid cheating. That was really bad and she knew what she was doing. However, she hasn't been able move on from that and find a new man she could treat better. That's sad.

    • @gwdzee
      @gwdzee 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      honestly, the cheating ex's mental breakdown sounds like it was inevitable, with or without the prank. Some cheaters can't deal with their ex moving on and living their best life without them.

    Well I can say the ex gf deserved all that since it was her that cheated not even long before her marriage. Op just made her feel a fraction of the pain he felt, wasted 10 whole years, a decade, you cant get that back. But to see that she had a serious mental problem, it saddens me, and its worse when the parents didnt even try, just the bare minimum and they still didnt see the gravity of the situation til it they got to the hospital point.
    As for the wife's friends, they can kick rocks. If they get cheated on before their big day, maybe they will understand.

      @pyroflamekid7412 Isn't it disrespectful to come to your ex a days before they get married to ask for a 2nd chance? That's exactly what she did. She didn't move on, she came to him after YEARS to get him back under some delusional thought that he still wants her. Plus who's to say she won't turn up at HIS wedding in a white dress claiming he still loves her?
      Many weddings have crazy exes who came in wedding dresses to marry their exes they cheated on.

    OP wasted entirely too much time and effort dealing with someone who didn’t deserve either. She should have been completely blocked and the second she did make contact with him, he should not have responded. Now, he’s experiencing the repercussions of his ridiculous “revenge.” Given his crying, hand-wringing and emotional response back when it originally happened, I’m not surprised he weak enough to not be more forceful and not let the ex back in any manner.

      The wife is either a bit too supportive (little data, but she did sacrifice her friends to support OP over unfair humiliation which possibly would've only encourage the stalker further they wanted), or given the previous experience of being cheated on, his ramblings of frustration fell into a fertile ground, so it became 'seems fair' pettiness over, 'please just let it go' approach a person without context or personal experience with unhealed cheating might have negotiated for. Which in turn might be graceful or people thoughtlessly trampling on victim's feelings that many other stories model for us.

    Cheating is disgusting and a major betrayal but it’s next level when they cheat on you with a family member or close friend because it’s not only them who has hurt and betrayed you, it’s also another important person in your life who has done so as well.. that trauma will remain forever and damage so many people.. not saying cheating with a stranger is okay but at least then they can just disappear and you don’t have to deal with family issues or friendship group issues etc.. crazy how people so close to you are willing to risk things for something that won’t even last with someone else close to you.
    So so spiteful, they could go near anyone but go for someone you care about just as much as you care about them.. I don’t know how people recover from that sort of betrayal, but I’m so proud of people who make it through this situation and still manage to find happiness in the future💗
