    ** DISCLAIMER: THESE ARE NOT PROFESSIONAL ADVICE. INSTRUCTIONS MIGHT NOT BE ACCURATE AND CAN BE OUTRIGHT WRONG. ALWAYS TAKE THOSE INSTRUCTIONS WITH A GRAIN A SALT. IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO IMPROVE YOUR SURFING, CROSS TRAINING AND PURE SURFSKATING SKILLS, PLEASE REFER TO A PROPER SURFSKATE COACH. **
    __________
    the re-entry is done when you reach the top (lip of the (concrete) wave) and you need to 're-enter' the wave.
    backside re entry / toeside kickturn is generally easier for beginners. You can see where you are going
    and shoulder rotation is more natural.
    ________
    STEP 1 A : toeside kickturn 0:31
    STEP 1 B : heelside kickturn 0:46
    STEP 2 A : backside kickturn 180 1:09
    STEP 2 B : frontside kickturn 180 1:17
    STEP 3 A : backside kickturn on ramp 1:54
    STEP 3 B : frontside kickturn on ramp 2:07
    HOW TO RE ENTRY ON RAMP : 2:27
    STEP 4 : Time to do it ! : 2:43 - 3:01
    YOUR NEXT STEP ? 3:02
    remember:
    •lead with the head and shoulders before reaching the top ( lip of the (concrete) wave )
    •look where you want to go - the body will follow naturally
    •try to have your front foot above the lip.

    I hadn't realized that the 're entry' was the same to 'kick turn' in skateboarding before u mentioned it. it really helps a lot improving my knowledge about surfing and carver riding. many thanks.

    In a ramp/park setting why would someone ride a swivel front truck skateboard over a typical fixed truck popsicle skateboard?

    May I ask how to define backside and frontside???? It seems to me snowboarding do the other way around.

    • @shanelai2515
      @shanelai2515  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If the wave(ramp) is facing your front, you'll perform frontside maneuvers, if your back is facing the wave, you'll perform backside maneuvers.
      So if i do a frontside re entry, it's like the wave was facing me, then I'll do a frontside bottom turn to go up the wave, hit the lip and do a frontside re entry
      Hope that helps 😊

      Dans les dernières vidéos, je skate avec une planche bon marché (tahwali) que j'ai équipé avec le Waterborne surf adapter.
      Je prefère le tahwali a cause de son empatement plus long

    Quite hard to do the same with a 1 mt surfskate, for some reason on a ramp i end up doing more of a slide than that type of reentry

    • @shanelai2515
      @shanelai2515  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably going too fast or turning too aggressively.
      Try dosing your speed that's just enough to hit the top then 'fall back down'
