Thanks! I'm about to learn surf skating (with all the correct protective gear). You've inspired me! Never too late to try something new. I bought a surf skate and it's so much fun.
I just bought a Yow surfskate for my husband and thought I should try it too. I'm now addicted to it and will probably have to buy my own one :). Your VDO is super helpful for a newbie such myself. Thanks heaps.
Thanks for this great content mate. I have never been on a surfboard or skate in my life, but now kite and watersports are draging my atention. So far i was thinking about getting a surfboard to start practice somehow. Realy enjoyng the series.
@@surfcompanions I am Brazilian, for us the dollar and the euro are very expensive now. If it weren't for that, I would definitely purchase my surfcompanion. In the right moment
Phenomenal! I am a kite boarder, but getting those explanations and demonstration about how your head movement (looking where you want to go) and body compression makes all the difference! Thanks so much for sharing and I will keep this in mind for my next session🤙🤙🤙
how awesome !!! your videos are excellent and the instructions are clear and objective. congratulations. I'm already crazy to test when my skateboard arrives ... Thanks Bro
Thank you so much for these videos! Been looking for a good resource showing an in-depth breakdown of the manoeuvres and prompts to follow with surfskate drills. Looking forward to receiving the surf companion!
Great video, I also love you editing style! Funny I was watching it and was like “hey” I know that place! Have been surfing there many times but mainly in St Girons Plage.
Do a video about how to do a roundhouse cutback on a next!!! I simply just LOVE the way you simply explain how to apply surfing techniques on a surfskate! Keep the videos coming! :D
how to generate speed/pump would be nice to see as well :) I can do it on the surfskate pretty well but I'm struggeling a little bit doing that on the wave
Hi Daniel! Great explanations, I really like how you break down the manouvers with surfskate. Looking forward to the next videos! Would be great to see: Roundhouse cutback, and the same things you've already done, but for heel-side wave, because those are more difficult to do. :)
Work in progress. Yes the roundhouse will come as well. We are super busy with extra work, but you will see the release when you subscribed or even check our instagram;) thanks a lot for your comment;)
in the turning process you shift your weight from the back foot to the front foot during the turning to maintain speed. You should always end with chest over front foot!:) Thanks for your question. If you want more tips and more knowledge visit our website: surfcompanions.com
thank you SO much for this video! can’t wait to get my YOW soon...i’m debating between the Teahupoo and the La Santa. I’d love to ride barefoot, but i would have to use shoes sometimes of course. which do you recommend for a beginner?
Hey just bought a second hand Carver C7, great feeling but I'm actually surprised in Paris with all the holes in the road of obstacles. Could you give advices on how to properly navigate / hang out in the city without risking any incident ?
Yeah deep wholes are not great for skating. Rather try to cruise on streets which are flat and without whole or stones. Then you are in the clear. PS: Always wear a helmet especially in a big City like Paris (scooter everywhere:)).
Personally, the miller is okay and works, but if you want a surfskate/surftrainer the best out there then you should look into smoothstar & carver. Smoothstar is the closest to surfing, But like I said that miller I used for my videos did his job;) hope I could help;)
So top/bottom turns could be fs or bs , so as far as surfskating is concerned how do I know when am I doing a top or bottom turn ? Because initially I assume a bottom turn is always a fs and then straight into a bs turn I'm sorry I'm very new to surfskating and I don't know surfing at all 🙏
Hey Dmitry, I will go soon in to a carver Bowl but with half/quater Pipes its not that easy with a Surfskate. Rather use a skateboard then:) Thanks for your comment!
this one is from miller. Trucks: Miller XRKP2 special system 356 premium Aluminum, press casting 160 mm (6.5″), but at the moment I am only training on a Smoothstar from now on, because it is even closer surfing:) Hope I could help.
Hey Ringo, to make it easy at the beginning use a few meters and than make it a bit shorter when you do the practice a bit fast. So, your turns will be tighter. Try it out!:) Thanks for your comment!
Best surfskate instructor on here. 🙌
Wow so great to hear!!!
Dude, I have been surfing for almost forty years- your videos and advice is some of the best I have ever seen!! Thanks - well done!!!!

Hey Jordan, dont worry, there are more videos coming;) give a bit more time;) no hurry.
Well done 👍 surfskate I underrated.
Yes, it will help you A LOT:)
Do you need to shift your weight to either foot when doing the re entry? Or is it pretty equal on both feet?

Hey Chloe, shoes I would recommend flat shoes. I also sometimes train with no shoes to get the "surf feeling":) Let us know how your progress is:)
What surfskate do you have?
I am riding a Smoothstar now! :) super to have the proper stance.
Interested to know which surfskate you are using in this video specifically?
Nice 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

All good. You always have to do a bottom turn first, and then the top turn. You cannot do a top turn straight after the take off in surfing.
More more more !!!!! It's not ENOUGHT !!!!
I will I will:)
Show some ramp tricks bro

May I ask what this board’s brand and trucks?, thx

Top!
thanks a lot!
Vdo est super
Merci boucau;)
Vielen dank.
Gerne;)
Nice!!! ;)
Good video but it would've been awesome if you'd showed it on a wall too.
What do you mean with a wall? I am curious
The other side is much harder for me :(
Yes frontside is usually easier to perform comparing to the backhand
Best shit ever
Thaaanks so much donnies
Hey love the videos I was wondering if you had a business email to contact you with a business opportunity if interested on surfskating
