  • We have just finished writing our latest study, "Annealing under the microscope Part 4" and we decided to make a quick video showing how our new Bullet seating tool works with its load cell capability.

    Very interesting video. Thanks for posting it. I've always brushed the inside neck prior to tumbling or ultrasonic cleaning. I mostly tumble everything now and my final step prior to priming and loading powder is to run a cotton swab moistened with alcohol into the neck to remove any residue. I can get very consistent velocities and some really good extreme spreads and SDs.

    No Primer + No Powder: No air is being trapped in the bullet case during seating. Does this increase the seating force requirement? Test should be revalidated with real time condition? thanks for posting this video.

    Would it be a good idea to combine annealing and changing bush for stable neck tension?

    Love my AMP annealer...dumb question here: what are we to do once we finish seating our bullets with this machine? Not sur how this advances the process

      This is more of a diagnostic tool. With it you can now see the actual seating force of each bullet seated. This allows you to compare seating forces over the entire batch and potentially cull any ones which looked undesirable.

    Have you cleaned the cases prior to the test?
    Does ultrasonic cleaning alter the need to brush the case neck interior?

      We have not tested this yet but will in a further addition to this study.

      We are currently making the first 10 beta units. after the feedback from them we will start production. We currently do not have a release date but hopefully it will be before the end of the year.

    It would have been more interesting if you had measured the power needed to pull the bulit out of the case.

    The engine is too weak. To get the right result the time must be equal.
