In such circumstances reasonable arrangements should be made to facilitate this. In practice this may mean providing regular smoking breaks during interviews. It’s as if they’re frightened to death you may do something, perhaps steel a couple of pieces of loo role or something. I honestly don’t get their behaviour, very strange. That happened here in Dunedin where are memorial was erected to Queen Victoria there were no official walkways through the park however people did keep walking across the grass and wore a natural path and eventually under New Zealand law it had to be put into a permanent pathway for members of the public.

    I’m glad he was challenged Ii firmly believe that all police stations should be secure and any member of the public coming into the rear area should be politely asked to leave. I also noticed he ignored the first sign asking pedestrians to use the front entrance as there wouldn’t have been a video somewhat selective.

      Totally agree. I like watching public audits but this was a non-event, the inflammatory conversational elements came entirely from the auditor. If anyone was filming me and my business duties I’d ask the same basic questions. If there is a security risk then asking the questions will help the organisation improve, I doubt they’re trawling TH-cam to assess their risks.

    To be fair, this was a pretty good audit, so they probably get a pass. Shame about John in the front office, a public servant who refused to assist a member of the public, with a simple request to look into the disabled toilet. It is little things like this John that maintains the disconnect between the public and the police. Also Tubbs and Crocket should know that you do not need consent to record from public.

    It is amusing to see the response by officers that approach you, it’s as if you were an alien from another planet! Sadly the vast majority of officers who interact with you immediately adopt a ‘defensive’ attitude on first contact. The public are being treated as a threat, I suspect this is born out of an inherent lack of confidence. No doubt this is influenced by past experience in attending conflict situations, that stated, if they approached with an open mind, and with civility not confrontational, the interaction would be resolved amicably. The contact fails when they threaten you with action that they cannot ‘lawfully’ follow through with. These are basic communication skills the police appear to have lost.

    • @kevinfairclough4619
      @kevinfairclough4619 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      What confrontation happened? Am I missing something? If someone was filming my business I’d ask them the same questions. It’s not confrontational to ask a question. Why are the comments to this so biased?

  • @lindaszatko8511

    When you see problems like these you should bring them up to whomever is the financial officer to that department. Sorry don't know what you would call them in England. The road should be fixed so the cars don't bottom out, causing damage to the under carriage and figure a way to fence off that pathway. They should have someone make sure those dumpsters are moved back, otherwise someone in a police car may not pay attention and BOOM!! They'll have an accident. I think that's a great idea that they have those containers right by the road there. I've never seen that here in the States. You'll have to see about doing something about checking that bathroom that they wouldn't let you look at. Overall, I think you did a great job auditing!👍👍

    Can these "public servants" really be that ignorant about their duties?
    I'm a carpenter and have known for years that there can be no expectations of privacy in a public place. Have they forgotten who pays their wages? Do they believe they are their own boss? But from people like yourself they seem to be getting the picture. These cops seem very friendly, just the type of people I don't mind paying to look after me.
