Hey, thanks for that! It's something that whenever I've brought it up to others, they never had another term for it. So I just went with what felt appropriate back when I pointed this out in college. The question now is which is catchier.
This together with Wakfu are one of my favorite animation series I am glad this has gotten the attention it deserved but I wish both series would get another season
Wakfu is getting a fourth and final season. :) And I have the producer's hat to prove it! Haha! But I do hope that Villainous gets another shot. It's such a good series, and I love that a Mexican storyteller got their shot to be in the limelight and get a show in their own language and style into the U.S. We're so used to anime that I don't think people consider just how difficult that is.
As a spectator, I feel like this would be an easy thing to avoid. However, my knowledge of psychology makes me know better than that. Everyone has a desire to be loved. Every single person needs love, compassion, anyone to care about them. And if you don’t have that, it really does leave a mental scar. Humans would be categorized as pack animals. We need companionship, or our mental health will decline. And as our love deprivation rapidly eats away at our sanity, we become desperate for anything that can help. Anyone who can love us. It’s a sad thing to see the mental decline of who used to be a good person.
That's one of the many things that makes Miss Heed such a fascinating character to consider. She is the embodiment of the need for love and how that love can lead to unhealthy practices and mentalities, as well as how the deprivation of love can lead to a shade of the same. And it's clear to see where if she had just done things differently, she would be a happier character! But alas! Miss Heed went in the wrong direction with her goals and desires, becoming a magnet for unhealthy adoration disguised as blissfully following.
@@camillesharem and the funny thing is (I may be reading too much into this, but…), if you don’t love yourself, but receive love from others, that love can feel fake, burdensome, false, or empty to the one receiving it. In this case, miss Heed’s enthralled servants being the ones who are faking love. And this can cause you to distance yourself from the people who truly love you. This is sort of Yamada’s mentality from “the Dangers of my Heart” as well. Feeling like you don’t deserve the care you’re given is dangerous, because it could cause you to either reject it, or feel guilty about accepting it.
@@Iso20227 I'm glad you bring up Yamada, because she's an excellent example of the flip problem Miss Heed goes through. And unlike Miss Heed, she has people who genuinely care about her and as we see she reciprocates that. Otherwise Yamada might go full anime villain on us.

Never watched Villainous, but the scene between Flug and Heed in the prison cell felt like he was going out of his way, one last time, to see if the person he’d originally crushed on was still in there somewhere. Hit with a truckload of feels here. PS - Villainous is now on my watchlist. I need to see this in its entirety.

Based on Goldheart's reaction at the end, and the canon universe twitter posts that were scrubbed due to it being kind of an ARG Goldheart knew about Heed's crush and actively chose not to reciprocate. There's also a significant implication that Goldheart and Flug are brothers. Which it makes it even more devastating knowing your crush loves your brother even if your brother is being a homie and giving her the big no which if the theory is true only adds to the toxicity. Given Heed and Flug were both Black Hat Institute kids Heed's actions being more akin to a villain fits the mo. I think Goldheart is an Empath and knew from the beginning Heed was toxic, but he'd be a hypocrite to his 'anyone can have a heart of gold' slogan if he didn't at least entertain or try to encourage someone that was a villain into a hero. There's a canon universe comic called The Risky Heist which touches on post asylum Heed.
Nah. My theory is that Goldheart is gay. When Heed opens his profile to look at his avatar, his tagline says “love is love”. That’s a common saying in the gay community and a way of dog whistling support. He wasn’t interested in the cutesy ingenue Ms. Heed because he doesn’t like chicks, _period._ It honestly sounds like he’s sweet on Flug and disappointed with his decision to be / work for a bad guy. I think the joke will be on poor Cecilia. Goldheart will reject her for a guy she played. Oof. Thank for the recommendation! I think a lot of people will check out the comics now.
@wormwoodcocktail He could be gay or bisexual, perhaps, but he could also very well be straight and not into her. Golden Heart doesn't have to be gay to not like someone. And if you're wondering why the man doesn't he sleep around with the woman, he could not like taking advantage of others in that way or simply goes by the basic rule of "don't fuck with crazy". So, while it is possible for him to be gay, any other sexuality could fit this guy, and you can figure out why he isn't interested in Ms. Heed.

Great catch with the bookend! My favorite part of the episode: Heed manipulates followers, and avoids commitment: "Not like that, like this" but then, when Flug offers something simple, non-committal: just a kiss on the cheek... "No, not one of those..." Heed has all of the power and no reason to actually reciprocate Flug... yet she does...? Which is crazy! So Mis Heed isn't manipulating Flug? But hold on, she clearly is! But then, why is she nervous when Flug almost snaps out of the spell? She had no problems applying the formula to other characters... earlier in the episode she's fine doing it to Flug, so why is she acting so ashamed? It's so paradoxical! I get the "pet boyfriend" discussion, but I think it goes deeper than just a simple case of an deceitful friend. From experience, sometimes people are just confused, lost, unsure of what they want. They break promises, lead people on, make questionable decisions not out of malice, but just being lost in the world. At the end of the episode, I think Flug finds closure - he isn't even sad about the rejection: his sadness is for Cecilia, realizing the mess she's become. She is in a physical prison, but also in a mental one: unable to love herself and always trying to find that affirmation in others... and that's probably why she was unable to connect with Flug. Flug liked her for who she was, no strings attached: and from the material, we can understand Cecilia so insecure... I figure she couldn't appreciate Flug's affection because it wasn't something she could control or create at her own volition. Also, one thing that stood out to me: Heed knew she stole Flug's formula - but in her first appearance she seems so casual to him: asking him what he thought of "her plan" as if he'd be impressed... It's almost as if Heed still thought she was a villain? I dunno, girl is all turned around and sends so many strange signals!
I think to sum up Flug's feelings at the end is Pity. For as much as he is loser, an insecure nerd with a literal body bag on his head. He has grown to have more maturity and love for himself than the supposed pretty pink popular girl that everyone liked. The girl who everyone adored, who the masses would give gifts too giving her all the 'LOVE' that he can only dream, a girl who he very much liked... To only then see that same person reduced to a mentally immature toxic person who can't love themselves makes one think at the end, of which the real loser between them is.
It seems the simplest explanation could be that she really does like him, but she believes she'll only get his love if she creates it herself. Some people genuinely think that no one could actually love them of their own volition, and it could be that she is one of those people.

She is still not a good person but she definetly is not a narcisist since Villainous has depicted Miss Valdoom (her rival who lost against her and is still angry) as one and you can clearly see the difference
I do love how regardless of what she's done to him his final note is honest advice showing he does care and hopes she does find a way to recover. She searches for love and seems to need it from her eyes but he sees that she needs to like herself before her love can be fully realized for others and for others to love her properly. He easily could have just left without saying anything to her but he did try to give her advice
In the arg it's revealed that Heed was experimented on and developed the ability to change the chemical composition of water. However, it was a painful experience as she would accidentally change her bodies own water causing her to almost poison herself to death. That just show the level of desperation and lengths she is willing to go to get Goldhearts attention and find love.

If you think about it this whole episode is also a example of what could happen when idol worship becomes obsession. She became so obsessed with someone who probably doesn't even acknowledge her existence but she'd do anything to be with him. It all eventually becomes a never ending cycle until she can acknowledge her own circumstance.
What a dominatrix. Miss Heed is this universe’s version of Poison Ivy as Ivy often used lust as power ploy too. And not only that, but the way that she’s using her sexuality is giving Cecilia a confidence boost which in a deadly cycle only makes her more determined and increases the likely hood of her continuation of these toxic behaviors thus making her powerful and attractive as power is a form of attraction.
"Miss Heed is this universe’s version of Poison Ivy" it's true! Ironic to think that the only character completly immune to her formula is Demencia, basically the "Villainous version" of Harley Quinn, and who, just like Heed, has an obsession (towards Black Hat).
You broke this episode down so well. I freaking love Cecilia and Flug as characters! This episode definitely did a good job at showing us a toxic romance in a whole new light. The only thing that makes me wonder is why her lower part of skirt is folded *slightly* upwards most of the time. Is it a type of clothing material that I've never seen? Or it has a rig like old dresses had inside to seem more bigger because you know different style, so it makes it look like it's affected by the wind when it's not?

Cause theres a part where flugs tells part of his backstory with cecilia from his point of view in the flugs logbook/ dementias diary that are really interesthing to read like the part where flug asked cecilia why she was in the evil science class if she was terrivly at it and cecilia telling that she wanted to make something special so others could see she was special
I was the security blanket/ back pocket potential for much of my young adult life. I was also the choice potential partner, but for people I felt no romantic/sexual attraction to. So many " nice" people were attracted to my soft, shy and sweet approach. I saw how toxic the folks stringing me along were. Took time for self development and realized how I was playing into it. Cultivated self love and did therapy. Set boundaries and met someone who I love and respect and who loves and respects me. I see a bit of myself in each character. This episode is one if many that helps me continue that work.

I first watched Villainous a few months ago and I’m so mad that the fandom is practically dead and there is so little media of it that’s canon. Anyone got anything to feed my hunger for this show-

Technically, this episode was the conclusion to season 2. That's what all the sources have been telling me. Sadly, considering how Warner Bros. has axed much of their cartoon divisions and connections to cartoonists, I think Villainous is currently in limbo...
Chapter 6 "Heedeous Heart" is the half of the first season for tv but the continuation of the webshow (it is in Cartoon Network's official TH-cam chanel), Cartoon got another 6 episodes for the second half of this season since before October 2021 but has refused to release it because of the fusion of WBD, the fact that they have shown they are not exactly "pro animation" ( we all know what they did) and also because they like to prioritize animation teboots made in the USA. Either way we are supposed to get at list 6 more chapters this year 2024 and Alan Ituriel encouraged the fans to ask Cartoon Network when the new chapters so spaming them with some emails and comments in their official chanelas and social media always helps. If you want more of Villainous while we wait there are 2 secret pages, 1 blog for worldbuilding, Aldo Maldonado's audios ( with more lore) , 2 official instagram accounts (for Miss Heed and Penumbra and they are related to the story), 4 books until now (one was wrote by Dem and Flug, one is a coloring book by 505, and 2 are a "chose your own story" (with audiobook option) with one of the interesting victims that Black Hat has trapoed in his book), 2 official comics, some minicomics, some games, etc. Hope you enjoy it.
Its so interesting that Ms. Heedis presented as a harley quinn stand in here a bit. Falling into the vat of acid, stuck in jail and expecting an egotistical guy she loves to save her. The dynamic of jokers and harleys relationship is swapped here though
You know something funny? I remember seeing the shorts back in 2018 and I only noticed there were actually full-fledged episodes last year. Loved each and everyone of them. Villains are not heroes. Never was. Never will be, without a redemption arc. She not only is a villain, she's a manipulator, a succubus, if the show was out a bit later lord inquisitor of the Tumblr cult and a witchfinder general.
@Demolitiondude The overwhelming majority of anime heroes were villains. Since Anime tends to collect characters, most of whom were former enemies. Works for cartoons and comics too. You're basically full of shit. Let's see... From comics, the following heroes started as villains, and this is by no means a complete list: Hawkeye, Black Widow, Wonder Man, The Silver Surfer...and those are just people you immediately think of as heroes, doesn't even include the massive list on anti heroes or more questionable heroes like Songbird, Venom, Atlas, Namor, Magneto, and Emma Frost. Then we have pretty much the ENTIRE cast of Dragonball, as the following characters started as either rivals, or fought Goku due to a misunderstanding...Bulma, Krillin, Yajirobe, Yamcha, Master Roshi (in a movie), and the following were full on villains: Tien, Chiaotzu, Piccolo, Vegeta, Majin Buu. Then you get into other anime, like Ranma or Inuyasha, where new characters are introduced fighting the main character, then join the cast (and in Ranma's case, attempted murder usually comes up). The same can come up in other shows, notably Starscream in Transformers Armada became an autobot, and in Beast Wars, Dinobot, Silverbolt and Blackarachnia were all Predacons to sone degree. And then we've got My Little Pony, where all but 4 villains were redeemed over the course of the series. So yeah, learn your shit first
It sadly does... The ironic thing is that I only realized I was once a back pocket guy when I literally moved away from the situation. And in the meantime, I had been calling out a couple of dudes for doing the same thing. It's just an all-too common practice among people who want a relationship on their terms, rather than treating their partner as an equal.
@@camillesharem A lesson I learned growing up is don't give people second chances. Society tells people they should forgive and forget. Well the truth is a lot of the "lessons" society gives you is often crap advice. People should not seek retaliation and then end up taking advantage of over and over. People should leave things in the past and then find people doing the same things they did years and years ago. An animal survives in the wild through the threat of mutual destruction of a predator that hunts it. and yet society seems dedicated to letting people get away with their actions to end up shocked that these people eventually pushed it too far.

If second chances weren't a thing, most of us would have been screwed by our own stupidity long ago. There is forgiveness, there is change, there is hope. And for the people who have messed up bad, that's a reality that shouldn't be taken away from them. When we look at Ms. Heed, she's despicable on so many levels. But Flug still gives her a chance with his advice. It's up to her if she'll ever act on it. And that's where things get murky for everyone, because too many people don't take that second chance when it's given to them.

And there is a big difference between giving someone second chances and just giving someone a pass on their actions. Another chance is something worked for. not something to hand out like candy. Also read your own post by the way. If people did not give second chances "most of us would be screwed". that argument is saying second chances should be given because the listener is the one who could benefit. It is an argument that appeals to people being self serving. If an argument appeals to people being self serving. one should not be surprised when people ask the question "how do I gain from this?".
Also as for how to gain from that is quite simple. giving people second chances helps those people. So to get gain it is to be the one who receives those second chances. Furthermore since the benefit of second chances was to other people this means a selfish person can simply discard giving it to others. Basically by removing the element of consequences. a philosophy where those who are most selfish end up with the most is created.
When you mentioned the back pocket girl/boy part, I immediately thought of the many times this has happened to me. Hell, this might even be happening right now with someone I know but I can't say for sure. Hits pretty close to home unfortunately
damn thus episode was smth else. i didn't expect so much from what seem to me as a kid's show. but it has a pretty good life lesson especially for adults. i think i will give this show a try actually.
It's definitely worth it! A lot of the show is for kids and overly comedic, but that helps set up how the season 2 finale comes out of nowhere and sucker punches you with the feels.
I spent 7 years of my live with a person like Heed. They are the kind of people who are so terribly damaged that they need constant attention, they are afraid of being alone. And when you are not well and you are not their source of attention, you are discarded for the next candidate. I was furious at the beginning, now, I'm in peace with myself, learn the lesson and hope the next time I make a faith jump I wish she gonna be the right person.
Very happy to hear that you're out of that relationship and have learned more about yourself. And especially that you're not turned off to love. Horrible experiences with a loved one or partner have hurt so many people, and that's one of the reasons why this episode hits so hard for so many people!
I always called it a lifeboat boy/girl lol, and it really sucks to be one... lol😅 then again, I think most of us have been that at least once in our lives, but I have to admit it feels great to realize what's happening and take your power back, and remember if your going through that if they really cared about you they'd tell you the truth with how they feel, instead of putting your romantic life on hold for them. Remember, if they were your friends, they'd want the best for you, not how you can help them...
That's one thing I love about Villainous! The heroes are all awful people while doing heroic things. Heed's got an idea for saving the world from evil, but it's just the absolute worst and centers totally on herself.
Yes, it's complicated! Those feelings are there, she's just going about them all wrong! And Flug keeps taking backseat to all her other ambitions, which in the end do nothing for her. Hence why she needs to focus on herself and love herself again.

(Something I learned in a channel called Arenque Notícias (Herring News) is that it's actually a hero correctional facility... hero jail exists in villainous). @@camillesharem So, here is something I realized about poetry that made writing it way easier (incoming doorstopper): 1- Don't rhyme for the rhymes. What does that mean? A poem says something while rhyming: it rhymes to say something. It's not just random rhymes thrown at the wind. Think about opera or rap: the song says something, the rhyming is in service to what you wanna say, the point you wanna get across. A great example of what I mean is Paradise Lost: what matters is the story, the rhyming of the poem is a detail (it's the one that renders it a poem, but it's a detail, nonetheless). Here is a test I recommend: you know how people read poems thinking of the rhymes? Like, it's almost as if they're singing the thing (spoken word people are super guilty of this). Try reading poems as if they're a normal text, without stanzas or rhyming. If you read Paradise Lost that way, you'll notice the text *flows like a completely normal text* - and that is how you need to write your poems, the rhymes go in... but after you know what you wanna say. 2- Big vocabulary means big rhyming potential 3- Exploiting grammar as much as you can is a valid cheat to make placing the word that actually rhymes where you want to easier. 4- Free verses are not as agonizing to write as metric ones (dear god, metrics are annoying). 5- English is super annoying to rhyme (and finding rhymes is difficult because its orthography is an abomination)... so write in Portuguese. Wait, that one is for myself. English is not my first language and it's way less standardized than Portuguese, so instinctively finding rhymes is tougher on me than in Portuguese, even if I'm fluent in English *English is hard to rhyme,* *So I write for a competitor.* *It's not cheating, it's clever:* *It's English that gives me a hard time.* *But I may try English for Heed,* *She's really pretty, what can I say?* *Pretty girls make effort pains lose sway,* *Even if drawn, Heed motivates me indeed.* (Sorry, I had to add the topic of the video into it. And if that poem didn't rhyme, that is what I was talking about English being annoying for this stuff). Sorry for the doorstopper, point one is really important to get across: it makes writing poetry MUCH easier.

Sad to say, women still do this even to their elder years. They keep men in their back pocket in their 20's, 30's, 40's and even past 50's. It's tiresome and disheartening...

I feel like something else to mention about the toxicity of Miss Heed is one of the scramblings on her prison cell. On the big heart in the centre of her cell, one of the writings is “H&F”. While I can definitely understand if what she means is “Heed&Fans/Followers”; I think it means “Heed&Flurgy” and it could suggest her delusional behaviour with that she believes, despite the harm and emotional abuse she’s caused to Flurgy, that Flurgy still likes her. If this is the case, then it further suggests the back-pocket boy idea as she still has that part of her settle for Flurgy. Or it could suggest something else; again with that big heart in the cell, it suggests what she loves/ what she values most. Like herself and Golden but one part suggests Flurgy, which could suggest that a part of her actually likes Flurgy. Again, if this means Fans/ followers then, this is means nothing… but if this could mean Flurgy then it opens two more possibilities in her character .

On her wall she has both #H&GH in huge, and #H&F probably Heed&Flug? in the same letters as everything, so it means she must like him, but she likes Goldheart more. But it means Flug is important to her because of maybe more like a partner in "crime" instead of a lover.
I think you're touching on one of her many problems there. She likes Flug, there's history there, but her ambitions and adoration are all given to Gold Heart. That's who she really wants. And so we see the sad dichotomy that plenty of people have been through before: I like two different people, who do I pick? But for Miss Heed, that's more surface level than the deeper issue of not loving herself and taking care of herself in a positive way.
11:34 women mostly do this; it's just much more focused on with men because a few men do this. It's more impactful/ easier to spot something when something isn't the norm versus is the norm.

As a spectator, I feel like this would be an easy thing to avoid.
However, my knowledge of psychology makes me know better than that.
Everyone has a desire to be loved. Every single person needs love, compassion, anyone to care about them. And if you don’t have that, it really does leave a mental scar.
Humans would be categorized as pack animals. We need companionship, or our mental health will decline.
And as our love deprivation rapidly eats away at our sanity, we become desperate for anything that can help. Anyone who can love us.
It’s a sad thing to see the mental decline of who used to be a good person.
That's one of the many things that makes Miss Heed such a fascinating character to consider. She is the embodiment of the need for love and how that love can lead to unhealthy practices and mentalities, as well as how the deprivation of love can lead to a shade of the same. And it's clear to see where if she had just done things differently, she would be a happier character! But alas! Miss Heed went in the wrong direction with her goals and desires, becoming a magnet for unhealthy adoration disguised as blissfully following.
@@camillesharem and the funny thing is (I may be reading too much into this, but…), if you don’t love yourself, but receive love from others, that love can feel fake, burdensome, false, or empty to the one receiving it. In this case, miss Heed’s enthralled servants being the ones who are faking love.
And this can cause you to distance yourself from the people who truly love you. This is sort of Yamada’s mentality from “the Dangers of my Heart” as well.
Feeling like you don’t deserve the care you’re given is dangerous, because it could cause you to either reject it, or feel guilty about accepting it.
@@Iso20227 I'm glad you bring up Yamada, because she's an excellent example of the flip problem Miss Heed goes through. And unlike Miss Heed, she has people who genuinely care about her and as we see she reciprocates that.
Otherwise Yamada might go full anime villain on us.

Never watched Villainous, but the scene between Flug and Heed in the prison cell felt like he was going out of his way, one last time, to see if the person he’d originally crushed on was still in there somewhere. Hit with a truckload of feels here.
PS - Villainous is now on my watchlist. I need to see this in its entirety.

"No, you need to love yourself, Cecilia." Truer words have never been spoken. I, myself, had to learn this. Old habits die hard, and when conquered, often for the better.
Based on Goldheart's reaction at the end, and the canon universe twitter posts that were scrubbed due to it being kind of an ARG Goldheart knew about Heed's crush and actively chose not to reciprocate. There's also a significant implication that Goldheart and Flug are brothers. Which it makes it even more devastating knowing your crush loves your brother even if your brother is being a homie and giving her the big no which if the theory is true only adds to the toxicity. Given Heed and Flug were both Black Hat Institute kids Heed's actions being more akin to a villain fits the mo. I think Goldheart is an Empath and knew from the beginning Heed was toxic, but he'd be a hypocrite to his 'anyone can have a heart of gold' slogan if he didn't at least entertain or try to encourage someone that was a villain into a hero. There's a canon universe comic called The Risky Heist which touches on post asylum Heed.

Nah. My theory is that Goldheart is gay. When Heed opens his profile to look at his avatar, his tagline says “love is love”. That’s a common saying in the gay community and a way of dog whistling support. He wasn’t interested in the cutesy ingenue Ms. Heed because he doesn’t like chicks, _period._ It honestly sounds like he’s sweet on Flug and disappointed with his decision to be / work for a bad guy. I think the joke will be on poor Cecilia. Goldheart will reject her for a guy she played. Oof.

@wormwoodcocktail He could be gay or bisexual, perhaps, but he could also very well be straight and not into her. Golden Heart doesn't have to be gay to not like someone. And if you're wondering why the man doesn't he sleep around with the woman, he could not like taking advantage of others in that way or simply goes by the basic rule of "don't fuck with crazy". So, while it is possible for him to be gay, any other sexuality could fit this guy, and you can figure out why he isn't interested in Ms. Heed.

Great catch with the bookend! My favorite part of the episode: Heed manipulates followers, and avoids commitment: "Not like that, like this" but then, when Flug offers something simple, non-committal: just a kiss on the cheek...
"No, not one of those..." Heed has all of the power and no reason to actually reciprocate Flug... yet she does...?
Which is crazy! So Mis Heed isn't manipulating Flug? But hold on, she clearly is! But then, why is she nervous when Flug almost snaps out of the spell? She had no problems applying the formula to other characters... earlier in the episode she's fine doing it to Flug, so why is she acting so ashamed? It's so paradoxical!
I get the "pet boyfriend" discussion, but I think it goes deeper than just a simple case of an deceitful friend. From experience, sometimes people are just confused, lost, unsure of what they want. They break promises, lead people on, make questionable decisions not out of malice, but just being lost in the world. At the end of the episode, I think Flug finds closure - he isn't even sad about the rejection: his sadness is for Cecilia, realizing the mess she's become. She is in a physical prison, but also in a mental one: unable to love herself and always trying to find that affirmation in others... and that's probably why she was unable to connect with Flug. Flug liked her for who she was, no strings attached: and from the material, we can understand Cecilia so insecure... I figure she couldn't appreciate Flug's affection because it wasn't something she could control or create at her own volition.
Also, one thing that stood out to me: Heed knew she stole Flug's formula - but in her first appearance she seems so casual to him: asking him what he thought of "her plan" as if he'd be impressed... It's almost as if Heed still thought she was a villain? I dunno, girl is all turned around and sends so many strange signals!
I think to sum up Flug's feelings at the end is Pity. For as much as he is loser, an insecure nerd with a literal body bag on his head. He has grown to have more maturity and love for himself than the supposed pretty pink popular girl that everyone liked. The girl who everyone adored, who the masses would give gifts too giving her all the 'LOVE' that he can only dream, a girl who he very much liked... To only then see that same person reduced to a mentally immature toxic person who can't love themselves makes one think at the end, of which the real loser between them is.
It seems the simplest explanation could be that she really does like him, but she believes she'll only get his love if she creates it herself. Some people genuinely think that no one could actually love them of their own volition, and it could be that she is one of those people.

She is still not a good person but she definetly is not a narcisist since Villainous has depicted Miss Valdoom (her rival who lost against her and is still angry) as one and you can clearly see the difference
I do love how regardless of what she's done to him his final note is honest advice showing he does care and hopes she does find a way to recover.
She searches for love and seems to need it from her eyes but he sees that she needs to like herself before her love can be fully realized for others and for others to love her properly. He easily could have just left without saying anything to her but he did try to give her advice
And that's why Dr. Flug is the best character in the whole series. The guy's just awesome!

In the arg it's revealed that Heed was experimented on and developed the ability to change the chemical composition of water. However, it was a painful experience as she would accidentally change her bodies own water causing her to almost poison herself to death. That just show the level of desperation and lengths she is willing to go to get Goldhearts attention and find love.

If you think about it this whole episode is also a example of what could happen when idol worship becomes obsession. She became so obsessed with someone who probably doesn't even acknowledge her existence but she'd do anything to be with him. It all eventually becomes a never ending cycle until she can acknowledge her own circumstance.
And she all of her followers zombies obsessed with her, and she treats them the same as goldheart treats her

What a dominatrix. Miss Heed is this universe’s version of Poison Ivy as Ivy often used lust as power ploy too. And not only that, but the way that she’s using her sexuality is giving Cecilia a confidence boost which in a deadly cycle only makes her more determined and increases the likely hood of her continuation of these toxic behaviors thus making her powerful and attractive as power is a form of attraction.
"Miss Heed is this universe’s version of Poison Ivy" it's true! Ironic to think that the only character completly immune to her formula is Demencia, basically the "Villainous version" of Harley Quinn, and who, just like Heed, has an obsession (towards Black Hat).

Cause theres a part where flugs tells part of his backstory with cecilia from his point of view in the flugs logbook/ dementias diary that are really interesthing to read like the part where flug asked cecilia why she was in the evil science class if she was terrivly at it and cecilia telling that she wanted to make something special so others could see she was special

I was the security blanket/ back pocket potential for much of my young adult life. I was also the choice potential partner, but for people I felt no romantic/sexual attraction to. So many " nice" people were attracted to my soft, shy and sweet approach. I saw how toxic the folks stringing me along were. Took time for self development and realized how I was playing into it. Cultivated self love and did therapy. Set boundaries and met someone who I love and respect and who loves and respects me.
I see a bit of myself in each character. This episode is one if many that helps me continue that work.

Technically, this episode was the conclusion to season 2. That's what all the sources have been telling me. Sadly, considering how Warner Bros. has axed much of their cartoon divisions and connections to cartoonists, I think Villainous is currently in limbo...

Chapter 6 "Heedeous Heart" is the half of the first season for tv but the continuation of the webshow (it is in Cartoon Network's official TH-cam chanel), Cartoon got another 6 episodes for the second half of this season since before October 2021 but has refused to release it because of the fusion of WBD, the fact that they have shown they are not exactly "pro animation" ( we all know what they did) and also because they like to prioritize animation teboots made in the USA.
Either way we are supposed to get at list 6 more chapters this year 2024 and Alan Ituriel encouraged the fans to ask Cartoon Network when the new chapters so spaming them with some emails and comments in their official chanelas and social media always helps.
If you want more of Villainous while we wait there are 2 secret pages, 1 blog for worldbuilding, Aldo Maldonado's audios ( with more lore) , 2 official instagram accounts (for Miss Heed and Penumbra and they are related to the story), 4 books until now (one was wrote by Dem and Flug, one is a coloring book by 505, and 2 are a "chose your own story" (with audiobook option) with one of the interesting victims that Black Hat has trapoed in his book), 2 official comics, some minicomics, some games, etc.

Its so interesting that Ms. Heedis presented as a harley quinn stand in here a bit. Falling into the vat of acid, stuck in jail and expecting an egotistical guy she loves to save her. The dynamic of jokers and harleys relationship is swapped here though

You know something funny? I remember seeing the shorts back in 2018 and I only noticed there were actually full-fledged episodes last year. Loved each and everyone of them. It’s nearly a crime that there aren’t anymore. But at least it’s not on a dusty shelf

Villains are not heroes. Never was. Never will be, without a redemption arc. She not only is a villain, she's a manipulator, a succubus, if the show was out a bit later lord inquisitor of the Tumblr cult and a witchfinder general.

From comics, the following heroes started as villains, and this is by no means a complete list: Hawkeye, Black Widow, Wonder Man, The Silver Surfer...and those are just people you immediately think of as heroes, doesn't even include the massive list on anti heroes or more questionable heroes like Songbird, Venom, Atlas, Namor, Magneto, and Emma Frost.
Then we have pretty much the ENTIRE cast of Dragonball, as the following characters started as either rivals, or fought Goku due to a misunderstanding...Bulma, Krillin, Yajirobe, Yamcha, Master Roshi (in a movie), and the following were full on villains: Tien, Chiaotzu, Piccolo, Vegeta, Majin Buu.
Then you get into other anime, like Ranma or Inuyasha, where new characters are introduced fighting the main character, then join the cast (and in Ranma's case, attempted murder usually comes up). The same can come up in other shows, notably Starscream in Transformers Armada became an autobot, and in Beast Wars, Dinobot, Silverbolt and Blackarachnia were all Predacons to sone degree.
And then we've got My Little Pony, where all but 4 villains were redeemed over the course of the series.
So yeah, learn your shit first

Society tells people they should forgive and forget. Well the truth is a lot of the "lessons" society gives you is often crap advice.
People should not seek retaliation and then end up taking advantage of over and over. People should leave things in the past and then find people doing the same things they did years and years ago.
An animal survives in the wild through the threat of mutual destruction of a predator that hunts it. and yet society seems dedicated to letting people get away with their actions to end up shocked that these people eventually pushed it too far.

If second chances weren't a thing, most of us would have been screwed by our own stupidity long ago. There is forgiveness, there is change, there is hope. When we look at Ms. Heed, she's despicable on so many levels. But Flug still gives her a chance with his advice. It's up to her if she'll ever act on it. And that's where things get murky for everyone, because too many people don't take that second chance when it's given to them.

It is an argument that appeals to people being self serving. If an argument appeals to people being self serving. one should not be surprised when people ask the question "how do I gain from this?".
Also as for how to gain from that is quite simple. giving people second chances helps those people. So to get gain it is to be the one who receives those second chances. Furthermore since the benefit of second chances was to other people this means a selfish person can simply discard giving it to others.
Basically by removing the element of consequences. a philosophy where those who are most selfish end up with the most is created.
When you mentioned the back pocket girl/boy part, I immediately thought of the many times this has happened to me. Hell, this might even be happening right now with someone I know but I can't say for sure. Hits pretty close to home unfortunately

damn thus episode was smth else. i didn't expect so much from what seem to me as a kid's show. but it has a pretty good life lesson especially for adults. i think i will give this show a try actually.
It's definitely worth it! A lot of the show is for kids and overly comedic, but that helps set up how the season 2 finale comes out of nowhere and sucker punches you with the feels.

I spent 7 years of my live with a person like Heed. They are the kind of people who are so terribly damaged that they need constant attention, they are afraid of being alone. And when you are not well and you are not their source of attention, you are discarded for the next candidate.
I was furious at the beginning, now, I'm in peace with myself, learn the lesson and hope the next time I make a faith jump I wish she gonna be the right person.
Very happy to hear that you're out of that relationship and have learned more about yourself. And especially that you're not turned off to love. Horrible experiences with a loved one or partner have hurt so many people, and that's one of the reasons why this episode hits so hard for so many people!
I always called it a lifeboat boy/girl lol, and it really sucks to be one... lol😅 then again, I think most of us have been that at least once in our lives, but I have to admit it feels great to realize what's happening and take your power back, and remember if your going through that if they really cared about you they'd tell you the truth with how they feel, instead of putting your romantic life on hold for them. Remember, if they were your friends, they'd want the best for you, not how you can help them...

That's one thing I love about Villainous! The heroes are all awful people while doing heroic things. Heed's got an idea for saving the world from evil, but it's just the absolute worst and centers totally on herself.

Yes, it's complicated! Those feelings are there, she's just going about them all wrong! And Flug keeps taking backseat to all her other ambitions, which in the end do nothing for her. Hence why she needs to focus on herself and love herself again.

Thanks for joining us! Poetry is a beautiful skill. I love the use of poetry in larger stories, but I definitely don't have that special sauce. Doesn't stop me from trying! What do you normally like to write about in your poems?
@@camillesharem So, here is something I realized about poetry that made writing it way easier (incoming doorstopper):
1- Don't rhyme for the rhymes. What does that mean? A poem says something while rhyming: it rhymes to say something. It's not just random rhymes thrown at the wind. Think about opera or rap: the song says something, the rhyming is in service to what you wanna say, the point you wanna get across.
A great example of what I mean is Paradise Lost: what matters is the story, the rhyming of the poem is a detail (it's the one that renders it a poem, but it's a detail, nonetheless).
Here is a test I recommend: you know how people read poems thinking of the rhymes? Like, it's almost as if they're singing the thing (spoken word people are super guilty of this). Try reading poems as if they're a normal text, without stanzas or rhyming. If you read Paradise Lost that way, you'll notice the text *flows like a completely normal text* - and that is how you need to write your poems, the rhymes go in... but after you know what you wanna say.
2- Big vocabulary means big rhyming potential
3- Exploiting grammar as much as you can is a valid cheat to make placing the word that actually rhymes where you want to easier.
4- Free verses are not as agonizing to write as metric ones (dear god, metrics are annoying).
5- English is super annoying to rhyme (and finding rhymes is difficult because its orthography is an abomination)... so write in Portuguese. Wait, that one is for myself. English is not my first language and it's way less standardized than Portuguese, so instinctively finding rhymes is tougher on me than in Portuguese, even if I'm fluent in English

*It's English that gives me a hard time.*
*But I may try English for Heed,*
*She's really pretty, what can I say?*

I write about varied subjects… but usually it's just a reflection I reached and decided to put to paper… I'd be hard-pressed to find a common theme to my poetry, it's that varied.

This show's voice acting is unironically way better in Spanish.
Sad to say, women still do this even to their elder years. They keep men in their back pocket in their 20's, 30's, 40's and even past 50's. It's tiresome and disheartening...

I feel like something else to mention about the toxicity of Miss Heed is one of the scramblings on her prison cell.
On the big heart in the centre of her cell, one of the writings is “H&F”. While I can definitely understand if what she means is “Heed&Fans/Followers”; I think it means “Heed&Flurgy” and it could suggest her delusional behaviour with that she believes, despite the harm and emotional abuse she’s caused to Flurgy, that Flurgy still likes her.
If this is the case, then it further suggests the back-pocket boy idea as she still has that part of her settle for Flurgy.
Or it could suggest something else; again with that big heart in the cell, it suggests what she loves/ what she values most. Like herself and Golden but one part suggests Flurgy, which could suggest that a part of her actually likes Flurgy.
Again, if this means Fans/ followers then, this is means nothing… but if this could mean Flurgy then it opens two more possibilities in her character .

On her wall she has both #H&GH in huge, and #H&F probably Heed&Flug? in the same letters as everything, so it means she must like him, but she likes Goldheart more. But it means Flug is important to her because of maybe more like a partner in "crime" instead of a lover.
I think you're touching on one of her many problems there. She likes Flug, there's history there, but her ambitions and adoration are all given to Gold Heart. That's who she really wants. And so we see the sad dichotomy that plenty of people have been through before: I like two different people, who do I pick?
But for Miss Heed, that's more surface level than the deeper issue of not loving herself and taking care of herself in a positive way.
