I need at least 1 year experience (2 is better) so right now im sending application for internship in switzerland and at the same time sending application in France so i can get my 1 year experience. For now i have literally no offer. In the morning i try networking and in the afternoon i try to improve my skills (i am studying on Spark and SAP currently)

    I started looking for data analyst but is useless because companies want mainly data scientist/data engineer/ml engineer. That's because if they find someone like that and they do "data analytics" they destroy the market

      @@Allin1Xavi truthfully, remote DA positions are steadily decreasing as time moves forward. Luckily for me i do work remote, and have never worked in office. I must say that the entry level field is extremely saturated but one thing that i have noticed is everyone wants a remote job. I believe it is better to get your foot in the door and gain experience remote or in office (easier said than done). When i started my search 1 year ago i was not looking for specifically remote jobs, once i was hired i was told the remote policy of the company. To sum everything up, it’s going to be difficult to find a remote data analyst job with 0 experience but it’s ofcourse possible but if you are just limiting yourself to remote positions you are going to make you job search more difficult.

    The thing about all this recommended experience, what real uses do any of these programs have outside of the job? I'm 39 years old. I want to get into the field because I need to work from home now, can't drive to cities anymore because of my health. I've never had any practical uses for these programs, and outside of a job it is unlikely I ever would. There needs to be a path way like normal trade school, the companies as large as they are should consider putting together exactly what they want for their entry level employees. So far it all seems choatic, all over the place. But in may years in the civilian sector that is ... normal... Only higher level executives have any real organization to their behavior patterns when it comes to a career. Sigh... It's all so disorganized. I don't like all these choices, the military was difficult but easier at the same time.

      Over 300,000 people have completed the Google Data Analytics certificate so using it as your sole indicator that you are competent in Data Analytics may result in a very difficult time finding a job. Employers want a candidate that has experience and proof of their skills. The exams and certificates mentioned in this video will show that you know the knowledge that you write on your resume but you need multiple tools in your belt to stick out. You need at least 5 to 8 quality case studies in your profile and be able to speak of these case studies in details during your interview. You also need to find out what companies you want to work for and determine what applications and tools do they use for Data Analytics. All companies are not equal with what they use and you need to tailor your skills and certifications that align with the companies you want to work for. Same goes for industry. If you want to get into the automotive industry you need to be knowledgeable about that industry.

    Hi Luke, I have a master's degree in business analytics but we mostly just worked in excel, SPSS and Weka. Been applying to jobs for months and no luck.
    Do you think certifications mean more than degrees now in the data world? It's a crazy time.

      You need to focus on Python, SQL, and Tableau/PowerBI. With a master's and those tools, you can work anywhere.

    • @Allin1Xavi

      Is it really that rough?? Do you even have a portfolio, let alone know the useful tools asides from Excel (Python, SQL, PowerBI/Tableau)?

    • @ballinspalding11
      @ballinspalding11 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@harry8912that is the case actually. I got the Master's in order to pivot into an analyst role. I had experience but in non-technical, non-analyst roles. But maybe I'd have better luck if I learnt Python/R, Power BI/Tableau and SQL. However I was applying for entry-level analyst roles and analytics graduate programs and couldn't really land an interview even which I found worrying
