I have yet to see a production of this quality for us solo gamers. Because of you and this show i purchased savage world and i cant believe i am alone in that. Thank you and keep it up.
I'm very much interested in Savage Worlds myself because of this. It was never on my radar. Gave Mythic another chance as well. This video helped me grasp what it was all about. There are easier/free oracles out there but none are quite as dynamic as Mythic appears to be capable of.
@@williamb.sullivaninactive1192 my favorite is called MUNE. Madey Upy Namey Emulator. There are others I can't recall of the top of my head. It's been so long since I posted this. Mythic and MUNE are the only ones I bother with. Both have their place. Mythic can slow things down and get too crunchy. MUNE is good for faster paced games like D6 Star Wars.

I would buy a shirt/mug/merch with "Simon sucks" on it in a heartbeat! Bonus points if you use the D20 from the series logo, but with the "1" forward. (Or maybe make it a "loaded" D20, with none of the sides reading higher than a 3, or something... Poor, poor Simon.)

I really appreciate the sounds effects. I especially liked the Simon-is-knocked-out ding at 21:34. Also, don't forget that Savage Worlds has neat combat maneuvers *everyone* has access to, such as Wild Attack (+2 to hit, +2 damage, -2 Parry) and Rapid Attack (three attacks at -4). :)
Crossbow name: "Hunted feather" in homage to the magic feather that turned into a head by the hunted spirit... Btw i think the ghost is the one that need to be turned into a wild Card 🤣

Just wanted to point out that the thing Simon s#cks most at is actually dying. Also, they have an amazing poltergeist that single-handedly (head-edly?) killed the mummy! With a head-shot... So there's that.
I did laugh quite a lot at the mum-my going after Simon. And who knows, maybe Simon will return to the temple and have a chance to talk with his dead-dy, after all.

I think you put a jinx on Simon when you named the show - Perhaps you should change it to Me, Myself and Live.... As for the crossbow, I would put forward Leveller. Great episode, possibly best yet!

I just knew that (Spades > Hearts > Diamonds > Clubs) from the few cardgames I've played that rank suits, I'd never noticed that was reverse alphabetical before.
I don't think the problem is that Simon Sucks, I think more accurately Universe Hates Simon. Simon has to rely on a lot of skills he doesn't have, yes, but things like pulling the 6 while the enemy pulls a Joker is, in my opinion, absolute proof that it's not Simon, it's the literal cards stacked against him!

Suggestion for crossbow name: Heartseeker. The bolts seem to possess a bloodlust all their own, causing them to subtly correct their aim mid-flight. Many who witness the phenomenon see it as mere luck; for the adjustments are so slight they are almost imperceptible. The previous owner of the crossbow used it to cheat at competitions, winning a number of awards and accolades until she was found out and blacklisted from ever competing again. Shortly thereafter, before fading from the public eye (many believe she changed her name and paid a wizard to change her appearance), she sold the weapon; its name now infamous across the country and commonly associated with liars and cheaters. To this day, people are accused of possessing the weapon when their aim with a crossbow is just a little too good...
Crossbow = "Thundertwang"
Crossbow: The Leveler... because it keeps a stable shot and levels the battlefield.
bonus points if is known as "Slade the Leveler"
I was on the edge of my seat. Great editing through the fight scene. Sometimes fights can feel rather tedious, but you made it quite engaging.
It is a lot of fun that we all get to discover the story as you do; nobody knows what is coming next, not even the guy running the show. :-)

I'm rewatching the whole series to catch up for Season 4 and hoo boy I forgot how bad things went for Simon and Company at the start XD

I haven't gotten season 3 yet, but that Ghost better be back.
Unless, of course, Edbert's quest wraps up in this season but I'm still excited to see what that spirit does next
Simon does suck, but he's also got extreme luck. Sometimes, good luck sometimes, bad luck.
There was no way he was getting any help the first time he came to this temple, and yet Mord and Dench, the Orc Chieftain, showed up in his hour of greatest need.
But sometimes when he's got someone or something dead to rights, he should definitely get it he just misses, ie he falls probably doesn't break his ankle/foot, but breaks his ankle/foot.
He's a great character, and this story is awesome!
Been binge watching these old season 1 episodes (have watched the other seasons some time ago, but had forgotten this). My goodness have I been having fun! This is 100 times better entertainment than what's on the tv - just like the other seasons. It's interesting how the seasons all have their own unique feel to them (this is by far the funniest of them, Simon's horrible luck makes such funny scenes). Love the enthusiasm, sheer energy, and amazing imagination that Trevor has, plus the high quality roleplaying. He's like a ball of creative lightning! Absolute comedy gold in this episode, was laughing so hard many, many times. Two thumbs up and many thanks to Trevor for this! (Really cheered up my bad day.)
I just discovered this now and following along for the first time. It would be amazing if the barrier prevents them from re-entering (like prevents all living beings not just the paliadin order). I like the choice that would need= to be made... stay and risk dying in the temple or leave knowing they may never return.
Would it be possible to have drive-thru RPG make a bundle of all the supplements you're recommending ? That would make it a lot easier to buy them all which I would love to do. Thanks for your time and consideration and of course the excellent material. I'm starting to over identify with Simon I think. stumbling through life at barely making it is not fun.Lol.

That fight had some serious Dwarf Fortress energy.
The Poltergeist throws the decaying head at the mummy.
The spinning decaying head strikes The Mummy in the head, bruising the muscle and tearing apart the brain.
The Mummy has been knocked unconscious!
The Mummy is propelled away by the force of the blow!
The Mummy slams into an obstacle!
The Mummy has been struck down.
I don't understand these rules and rolls but I am definitely entertained!

I think that the crossbow should be dubbed, "Deadeye." It fits how the weapon is otherwise a sniper's aide and would be used by a soulless creature to aide in destruction of The Living.

Favorite episode thus far as I make my way through the show. it just keeps getting better and better. The ending, of Edbert dragging Simon through the barrier into the outside world, reminded me very much of the Freedom Ending of The Stanley Parable.
The fact that almost everything always seems to go wrong for Simon cracks me up so hard, I assume and hope that this guy will retire from adventuring after finding out what happened to his parents... Well, his father specifically at this point, since (spoilers for those reading the comments before the video for whatever reason), we now know what happened to his "mummy."
Another comment. I just got the Mythic Game Master Emulator book, and I'm SUPER excited to use it to play D&D's Lost Mine of Phandelcer! 😊 It'll be different since I'll be using the Starter Character set, which are pregenerated. 😯
