Just how the random number can turn finding a hireling into a haunted soldier that accidentally killed the leader of a paladin order and is now haunted by her ghost. I know obviously it is your creativity that connects the dots, and pulls the threads, but sometimes when you ask the question and get the extreme Yes's it's amazing.
That one cultist that tries to set on fire a inn which is about to get hit by a huge wave... I mean... I find his commitment to do his job quite admirable... "Employee of the Month" for sure.
Simon's brand of bad luck compliments mine in too many scary ways. I'm routing for this protagonist, I just hope nothing horrible happens to him and Edbert. *begins episode*
I love watching your show! The pacing and the fast cuts make this show soooo much more watchable and enjoyable than any other show I know of. And of course it helps a lot that the players and the gamemaster are so charismatic and likeable. ;-) The energy you are showing pops right out of the screen!
Enjoying the hell out of these episodes! I'm a long time Mythic user (I have all of the Mythic books) and you have a great facility for interpreting the keywords. Your roleplaying is a true inspiration. I have found that I feel a little weird when I am doing dialogue with myself, but you have inspired me to try something similar to what you are doing. I will pretend that I am telling the story to someone else, and I think that will make it all seem a bit less strange. BTW, Tana (nee Tom) Pigeon has seen the episodes and she has said that she thinks "they're amazing." I concur.
Wait, that was 34 minutes?! It felt like ten! Love the goddess of storms cult, love the haunted warrior - you're using the Mythic tools very well. Fun to watch!
Ik I'm late to this, but I've been trying to get into solo RP for a while but no matter how many instructional videos on it I watch I couldn't seem to get a grip on how to actually DO it. Your videos have really opened my eyes to the possibilities and made it extremely entertaining! I have to keep watching but I hope Simon and Edbert find a way back to each other with Arn! Thank you so much for making these, it's incredible work, esp for one guy
This was probably the best episode so far, love the world building. I hope someone is taking notes and transcribing all of Simon's adventures, it would make a great book!
I think it says a lot about the region that there are so many religious/cult organizations about... with most (if not all) tending towards violence, it seems. I would guess that at one point in the not too distant past, there was an influx of people with an entirely different pantheon or beliefs... Leading to a significant culture clash in the country. The sea god, Morghus and whatever god/dess the Order of the Purifying Flame worship belonged to one group's pantheon, and the storm goddess Devona and the necromantic god/dess who was being worshiped at the ruined temple belonged to another group's pantheon.
Incredible episode. I have now purchased the gm emulator as well as savage world because of your amazing production. Now everytime you pull out a book i am writing them down for future purchases. I would love to see you run a group game at some point if you could add it to your to do list! Your energy is infectious.
Cherilyn being the Ex-Leader of The Purifying Flame makes her definitively the most competent and experienced member of the group. We already knew that, but her previous life certainly explains why.
The idea that the cult is actually connected to the Necromancer is, actually, pretty valid. The rise up are happening around the same time the barrier completed. The dice has to say otherwise tho...
Just for clarification, a charnel house is one associated with death, whereas a carnal house is one Simon hopes to have knowledge of before he dies. Another excellent episode Trevor.
I love have flexible using these systems is. It didn't look too difficult to make the next chapter a horror one in the middle of all the other random threads. But on top of that, it's great to see threads tie up with earlier events. I mean, of course Arn would be in the tavern Simon had been in earlier, because he's on his train.
Rewatching these, just for grins. It's great to visit these characters that are now old friends. I'm planning on doing a solo Mythic campaign, just thinking about my character and the world a bit.
Just started this series, best episode yet, that ending was outstanding! I like the scene rundown segment, missed it this time, but I hope they appear in next episodes!
i know im super late to the party but i just have to say. the way you seamlessly combine storytelling, combat and worldbuilding, and make everything make sense is absolutely amazing to me!! currently trying to catch up on your work bc i love it!! Thank you for inspiring me to start my own solo campaign!! I created a Catfolk Rogue and so far, kind of like Simon up until this point, she seems to be thoroughly unable to catch a break haha! Anyway, thanks for this entertaining and inspiring show!!! :D
Rip north, I was really hoping that north would become that one ally that the main character knows that can get his hands on anything and knows a lot of the world, being a merchant and all that makes sense to me. To bad, love how chaotic this series is so far, I can only assume it gets crazier and crazier!
Dang, Trevor. Edbert's anger tells me to never refuse a crazy Irish NPC that sees ghosts. 😄 Your improvisation skills are super awesome. I listen to MMD when I'm writing out character sheets (no printer 😅) or playing solo. Keep up the good work! Here's a star for inspiration: 😊 ☀
I was lucky to find suck a great execution of solo RPG to learn from. The interesting thing is that the story plot unfolding from all those questions, dice rolls and tables is much more interesting and intricate than a story pre-written by the DM, which we all know, players always find a way to mess up. It keeps on giving, I feel like this method always delivers. Thanks for putting it out. I'm loving it.
I Absolutely Enjoy Edbert & Cherilyn because Cherilyn seems to Attach Herself to Him for Him to Atone & Protect Him, from the Knowledge of She knows of, as She Knows that Edbert has the Qualities to Make it Right and The Knowledge that She needs to Make a Balance Between Each Side, in Some type of way. R.I.P "Mummy". 🙃 Alright, Have a nice time. 🌷
Watching your series the second time because I can't wait for episode 2 starting, realizing: Either you cut much in your videos or your dice love the way you tell stories because they nearly always fit on point. Hahaha (= Love your show, awaiting episode 2
@@MeMyselfandDieRPG As an Irishman myself (with a very different accent), this is one of the few accents I've heard a non-native speaker perform that doesn't make me gag. Your accent has a hint of Colin Farrell about it. :D
Ok now. Be truthful do you edit these videos to create a cliffhanger every time? Lol. You do a great job! I just came upon these videos. I use them to inspire me to play when I get too lazy ;)
This is only Episode 8 and I still have much in front of me...but I already know that the last scene was uploaded on 22. February...is there going to be a Season 2?
Holy moly! What a place to end the episode! Question: Where are you getting the names of the deities for this world? Making them up? Books of Random Tables, Perilous Wilds, or some other supplement? Thanks!
Hey trevor! Awesome show as ever! Im loving it! I have one question: What's the kind of binder you're using for your books? Im trying to figure it out but its hard to see
Trevor, you inspired me to follow in your footsteps, using the same exact tools you do. I ran my first two scenes last night and posted a session report here if anyone is interested: boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/262297/item/7290549#item7290549
I have some questions. How much are you enjoying this? Would you still be doing this if you weren't putting it on TH-cam? My main reason for asking is that I want to give this a shot and I am not sure if it will be that enjoyable playing by myself.
Not happy that North died but better North then Mord. I woulda actually screamed if Mord died. Still. Simon has so few friends that I hate that North died. Also. Simon really needs to unbreak all the mirrors or something. Dude is not lucky *edit* Also Tidal wave of death. Tidal Wave of Death. Sounds loco *edit 2* Oh no. Another loss of a friend???? SIMON NOOO *edit 3* Waittttt! Arnnn????? *edit 4* Wait. A DIVIDE OF ALLIES BECAUSE OF ARN???? OH NO! *edit 5* He should get a Benny for throwing caution to the wind and helping Edbar, which would also show him to be a good person like Arn heard.
It's been 3 years since this Simon Series was posted. So why have we not seen this as an animated series yet? I mean, despite some of the awkwardness, it's a damn great ORIGINAL story.
The PC divide was true genius. Real ethical dilemmas with just one player! Amazing.
Just how the random number can turn finding a hireling into a haunted soldier that accidentally killed the leader of a paladin order and is now haunted by her ghost.

*Trevor has an interesting and thought provoking theory that could be a nice addition to the scene*
Dice: NO, NOT TODAY
The Dice Gods have spoken😂😒
Thy will be done…

This is simply incredible content. This is what TH-cam was made for.
When the dice go the right way (the ghosts extreme yes on the order, and the orc chief turning up in due need) it's amazing to watch.
What a twist of events! In this episode Simon didn't get his butt kicked, he is getting better hahahaha
Gives new meaning to the sea being a harsh mistress with that goddess

The description of the butchery was as disgusting as appropriate for the Halloween episode 🎃. Very nice episode, Trevor 👌
This was probably the best episode so far, love the world building. I hope someone is taking notes and transcribing all of Simon's adventures, it would make a great book!
It would be even better if Trevor released as an audible book with him doing the voices.

Have to admit it would be great to see Trevor run a game. however long it would be it would be too short.

It's crazy rewatching this episode and seeing all the lore we learn in this episode that would have seasons long implications.

I'm happy to have discovered this gem! Great show!

Close - I tell the stories that the dice reveal. Never the other way round :) Glad you’re liking it and thanks for watching!
I audibly gasped at the corpse reveal 😵🥵
Loving the show! Out of curiosity, how much time do you have to spend recording to get the 30-40 minutes of footage for an episode?
It averages about 40 minutes of finished footage to about 1 hr of raw. So I actually use most of it 🙂
I was wondering about the same thing. So thanks for asking and thanks for answering, Trevor!
Where'd ye get the inspiration for the Irish-type guy? He's just wonderful...

Fantastic idea to go for the horror theme! I'm afraid it might be Simon bringing horrid juju wherever he goes 👻
Giant tidal wave incoming. Yeah, I'd say that is pretty NPC negative. 😂
Also, I was not expecting that dark turn. Poor North. 😳

A combination of all those :)
👏👏👏
It's "charnelhouse" with a "church" sound. A "carnal house" would be more... pornographic.
Hey trevor! Awesome show as ever! Im loving it!
I have one question: What's the kind of binder you're using for your books? Im trying to figure it out but its hard to see
Oh, they’re just basic dollar store variety binders and duo tangs, nothing special. Had them for years.
