    The fun thing is that it was the Daughter that actually broke the balance, by giving Obi-Wan the dagger. Kinda like how the very policies of the Jedi gave the Sith what they needed to defeat them.

    Once you understand how the son choices ended up slowly bringing his own suffering starting at the moment he drank From the fountain of power and how he was influenced by the dark side,even if he was presented as a “pure embodiment” of the dark side the context his death was very sad once you look back when you are older at the mortys story and you realize that he was never the “true villain”of the story but an influenced victim of his own ambitions amplified by the influence of the dark side and in the story that involved the mother pre corruption (she was incompatible with the raw power from the 2 nexus of the planet) you can see how her transformation&downfall deeply the ones were scarred by this turn of events

    Hot take: Everyone is talking about the son and the daughter but nobody is talking about the father, the balance. Which the real topic should be about that Anakin was meant to become in the Mortis Arc. Even though it was a metaphor i think Dave subtly was hinting at this in ep 5 of Ahsoka.

      @@bigreendotI bet the reason he can control himself in that way, is cause once he fulfilled the prophecy and passed away his full potential was granted to him by the force

      @@theguy8763 I believe the way it's portrayed is different than other force ghost meetings. It's like Anakin is still on his way as a body of the force and Ahsoka and Anakin were still training together to progress. Like the brother and sister reuniting before he can take on the true role of the Father, since Ahsoka left the Jedi while Anakin was still navigating with his blinding passion . They still need those interactions to unlock both potential in the force

    Once again, perfectly spoken and explained; not to mention the timing. How loud the Will of the Dark Side must have been to the Son. Always tempting, always scheming. So perfectly, he was able to gain Anakin's approval and willingly have him team up with the Son to destroy the Sith. Getting Anakin to accept the dark side. It's almost as if the Dark side itself wanted to rid the galaxy of the Sith once it learned of Palpatine's ultimate plan. For even the Dark Side understands the importance of balance. Interesting thought experiment... is how this may have played out, if the Father didn't intervene and erase Anakin's vision of the future. If the dagger would have been left alone.

    Awesome Video idea. If i may, I'd like to add in my 2 cents real quick for others wishing to futher debate.
    For those still asking;
    The Son wasn't a master of the Dark side. There aren't "sides" of the Force. Different aspects of it, sure, but the Dark Side is a corruption of the Force. Anger, Passion, aggressiveness, all this is a part of life. Letting negative emotions consume you however, that's when you begin to lose control, to become corrupted.
    The Nightsisters actually worshipped the Mortis Gods, and they had the best view on the Force, as well as Balance. It's why, unlike Sith, the Nightsisters used darker aspects of the Force, but didn't actually use the Dark Side. If anything, one could argue they were too conservative with what they had. The complete opposite of the insane greed of the sith. They all remained on Dathomir, making it easy to wipe their people out (for the most part). I get why they stayed, but it was the one mistake they made that doomed them... but that's another conversation altogether.
    The "Light" Side isn't a thing, its simply what it was called after the Dark Side became a thing. The Son's whole ARC on Mortis was him falling to the Dark Side... so many fans have misunderstood this ARC, its insane;
    Also, more Jedi than Sith isn't a bad thing. Balance isn't a numbers game with the force like so many believe.
    Balance is the Dark Side being extinguished, and the light being the OG balancing force. To reiterate, the Son of Mortis was never a master of the Dark Side, his entire story ARC was literally about him falling to the Dark, to Corruption, in the end.
    Having thousands of Jedi wasn't the issue. The way their Order was set up and functioned was the issue. The "False Light" of their Order was the issue. Anakin didn't have to slaughter their kind off to achieve balance, a reformation of the Order would've worked as well... just would've taken longer. Wiping the slate clean by annihilation of the Order and the Sith was just a more cut and dry method of doing it. Inner peace, anger, passion, etc is all important, but letting your negative emotions corrupt you... THAT is why the Dark Side is unnatural.
    Thousands of true Jedi is ideal, thousands of Sus, blinded Jedi is what the problem was. As for the Son, he was the hunter, the strength, the passion, the anger of nature. He wasn't a master of the Dark Side, otherwise his Arc would've been VERY different. He let his greed get the better of him, his emotions and list for power went out beyond his due once Anakin arrived. He saw he was wrong in the end, but with the Father and Daughter dead/dying, he likely would've been consumed by guilt, and once again fallen to the Dark. So, that's why unfortunately, Anakin still had to kill him. Someone that OP in the Force, falling to the Dark, would make even Palpatine look like a joke.
    Overall, sucks what happened, but I'm sure all the Mortis Gods are now in the Cosmic Force, once again together, and are able to aid Anakin in his Chosen One duties.

    I think Anakin was important to the Mortis arc because in a sense, he is related to them. They are all beings born from the force itself, in one way or another. What Anakin represents to the beings of Mortis is the thing they all lack; the power of choice. Whether Anakin stayed in the light or succumbed to the dark, his destiny had yet to be determined. Anakin had the freedom to determine the outcome for himself, and given what we see in the Ahsoka show he now walks fully in both the light and the dark.

    What the real question is, has Anakin finally ascended to the role of the father, who did say this is yours, interesting that corporeals are able to transcend, but Anakin is no mere mortal, with the power of ressurection displaying at the sisters death, he wouldn't have needed the Darkside to accomplish that.

    Notice anything about those blue rings when anakin confronts the father when first meeting him? Looks (almost) like mini wbw portals. Somehow missed that previously.
    Who is abeloth / the mother. I feel like there's very little known about them in all this.
    The son and Anakin (of the ep 2-ep 3 time) indeed share important similarities. But anakin also shared similarity with the father also when he 'tamed' both the son and daughter when his friends were in trouble by being bound by their animal forms, basically forcing him to show his power that the father knew anakin possessed.
    I'm curious if there is any material going over Obi wan or ahsokas thoughts on anakin after the events they experienced on mortis.

    The Father: Anakin
    The Daughter: Ahsoka
    The Son: Baylan (I did think maybe Ezra but Baylan seems to embody The Son's story - hates The Father, kills The Daughter, not innately evil but strongly rooted in the dark side and wanting to build his own order through it. Clearly has conflicted feelings towards the light side and the Jedi Order and seemingly does not want every encounter to end in bloodshed - he was provoked both times he drew his blade. I think he's the unknown factor in the Ahsoka story and I sense another twist on his part) - also RIP Ray Stevenson, what an incredible actor, will be sorely missed.
    Thoughts?

    As far as the "Are they gods?" question is concerned, it depends on who you ask. The polytheistic reading would say that if they "walk the walk and talk the talk", they are. The monotheist would say "There is only the force" and call the family higher level servants that couldn't help but hate each other and get themselves killed.
    As for me, they're gods, specifically just capital G Gods, all caps GOD is the force itself.

    Now I know why Ahsoka fought Baylan with one lightsaber in Ep 4. Easier for Rosario since she's not naturally ambidextrous like Ahsoka is. She needed to use her dominant hand to withstand the hits coming from a bigger, stronger Baylan.
    For people dissing how Rosario isn't as good as Hayden with the lightsaber, well, yeah. That's like asking Natalie Portman to fight as well as Chris Hemsworth or Hayden. Go watch Revenge of the Sith. Samuel L. Jackson and Ian McDiarmid both looked amateurish with a lightsaber that they needed the closeups too. You can clearly see Ian's stunt double when he was flipping around.
    Plus, it's easier for Hayden since he only needs to use his dominant hand. Rosario has to use two lightsabers and the left is obviously her weakest hand. And Rosario only started training for this in her 40s while Hayden had a 20-year head start on her. So cut her some slack for her sword fighting skills. IRL, Rosario seems to be a great person. Cheerful. A ray of sunshine. The opposite on how she's portraying PTSD Ahsoka.

    I agree the Son was never a truly evil being, but one who desired power as means for freedom. The Dark Side is also misunderstood this way, because most who tend to wield it (primarily the Sith) had evil intentions. But the Light isn't any better either, it's merciful, yes but also idle, naive and through apathy, allows evil to reemerge. The Dark Side at it's core, is just power and when power is given the wrong morals, it corrupts and corrupts absolutely.

    Isn't it ironic that the series is called Ahsoka when it never feels it's about Ahsoka? Look who these SW channels are talking about again? Anakin. Before that, Baylan. Before that, who is Marrok? The first two episodes felt it was more about Sabine.
    I first saw Rosario Dawson in Kids (1995) when she was still 15. Then she portrayed the hot gold digging gf to Ray Allen's Jesus Shuttleworth in He Got Game (1998). I've seen plenty of movies she's in. Ahsoka has to be her most boring role she's ever done.
    We get it, Ahsoka is going through some PTSD. But it just feels the writers are giving one paragraph to each actor and they need to speak at a rate of 5 words per minute. I'm blaming the writers. Not Rosario. Just like I blame the writing in the Sequel Trilogy and not Daisy, Adam, John, or Oscar.
    Why is Ahsoka not the highlight of her own show? She's now Ahsoka the White and people would rather still talk about a dead character in the show. In this timeline, Anakin has been dead for 7 years (and 40 years in our timeline) and SW TH-camrs would rather talk about him, a guy made of smoke, or anybody else except Ahsoka.

    Balance means both sides of the force exist in equal.
    Anakin brought the Jedi down because they’re presence far exceeded the dark side’s
    And in the time of the empire, the dark far exceeded the light, and that was also brought down by Anakin/Vader.

  • @KryyssTV
    @KryyssTV ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Doing evil is actually incredibly easy because the meaning of the word is the same as wicked. When a person knows right from wrong and chooses to do what is wrong that is an evil descision. If you know lying is wrong but do it anyway that is an evil act. But to be evil completely is to always commit evil acts and that is impossible. Even the Son showed compassion and even the Daughter was violent so neither embody the Dark and Light completely.
    But to call the Son a victim? No. The Dark Side causes intense selfishness sure but the Son demonstrated that before being cortupted by defying the Father to gain power. He was imprisoned due to a choice he made so was no victim of anything but his own poor judgement and lack of discipline. Freedom is dangerous thing because it opens the door to causing harm to ourselves and others, without restrictions that curtail freedoms there is only anarchy and self-destruction.

    Most Sith are victims of the reality they inhabit. But rather than passively accepting it like a jedi and allow everyone to suffer slowly, the darkside changes reality quickly for the sake of mercy, even if they don't know it. All the cruelty and horror is a cry for help from a universe that has thus far only tortured them in the first place. With the exception of those like Palpatine, who were just born with mental disorders. Either way all unfortunate, but none pitiful.

    I always think you're wrong when you describe the dark side as being corruptive to the individuals morals and ambitions.
    I think it is actually the other way around. The morals and ambitions are corruptive to the dark side. The dark side is a representation of the other half of the living force. Therefore ambition, desires these are a part of the dark side in their purest form, they're not evil.
    The Beast who seeks to claim a territory, exercise dominance over it. Fight and force out all challengers is not evil. Yet, that is the purest form of ambition and desire as demonstrated within the dark side of the forse. It is violent, and it is aggressive, but it is not evil. It also is not corrupt. The corruption, therefore, must come from the sapient mind. Seeking a more selfish desire. The difference between the sapient creature and the Beast. Is the sapiens itself seeking power for the sake of power instead of achieving an end goal, which may be beneficial to the species. Such as claiming territory, asserting dominance and propagating one's bloodline.
    Since these aspects, which make up the dark side of the living force are not corrupt or evil, the evil must come from somewhere else. The only place left for it to arise from is the mind of the sapient.

      I actually really like this. One thing I've been told my entire life is that pretty much anything you have or can do isn't inherently good or evil, but neutral. The way we do things or use them is what determines the good or evil. We can communicate in a neutral way, a good way that uplifts and corrects mistakes without being harsh, or in an bad way that ends up tearing others down and promoting harsh and harmful behaviors. Thank you!

      @Barrick_the_Fighter When it comes to the force, you can actually see this in the philosophy and the way in which the sith use it.
      Their entire philosophy revolves around imposing their will on the force. As well as using the emotional and adrenaline peaks encountered to help a creature survive when it's claiming territory or fighting off a rival. Even up to and including utilizing the pain of suffering that they themselves experience, such as a creature, would experience, giving them that final push in order to survive. This is actually what they impose their will on bending it to their conscious desire for more power. As they do this, the force actually fights against them. This is what causes their eyes to turn yellow and for them to become as though they're starting to rot or be mutated.
      This is the corruption of the dark side of the force.
      There is actually a light side corruption to the force as well. We see it in the clone wars. The Jedi Order order is all about denying or rejection of emotion and desires. They do this to seek Enlightenment. However, this also goes against the light side of the force. Because of them doing this, they actually get their force senses numbed a little bit. This is one of the reasons it was nearly impossible for them to tell that chancellor Palpitane was actually a sith. Even when he was sitting in the room with the entire jedi council. They could only become force ghost by embracing their own base desires and instincts. If you review what I wrote before, this is actually embracing the dark side of the force as it should be.
      This corruption of the light side of the force that the Jedi Order was doing is also the reason so many of them keep falling to the dark side. They're becoming numb to sensation. Then, when they give in to base desires and instincts, they get hit with an adrenaline rush. They're literally becoming drug addicts. Except their drug happens to be indulging in these dark impulses based within their instincts. When they go looking for it, the only explanations they tend to come across. Are the sith philosophies that are themselves a corruption of the dark side of the force, taking the same experiences to an unnatural extreme.

    I have a small issue with the idea that being a victim somehow absolves you of being evil. No matter how much you want to make this argument, it was the Son who made his choices, who chose not to listen to the Father, who put the lust for power and freedom before his family until it was too late, and who was willing to let others like Ahsoka die to achieve his goals. A victim of the Dark Side? Sure. But not evil? I can't agree with that.

    Eh... to be honest, it's clear that with Ahsoka and more recent series, that ever since the mortis arc Starwars has been *trying* to move away from that black and white "lightside good, darkside bad" mentality. But thats difficult when stubborn 'true fans' like you try to force the whole 'darkside is evil and never will be good' idea despite all the evidence to the contrary.
    The darkside is *dangerous* thats about it, but anything can be dangerous under the wrong circumstances... the darkside is like nuclear energy, and the lightside is solar and wind.
    If the son truly *was* the darkside's representative, then that means his behavior and actions would reflect the darkside's true intentions rather than him just being a victim of it. So, rather I feel you Geetsely and everyone *insisting* that the darkside is "evil" just cause that was the *original* intent by George for the *original* trillogy are the ones misinterpreting the messages. You ignore everything that came after pointing to the opposite idea of balance being the grays between to cling to your flawed black and white mentalities. Intents change, views change, and George lucas is way more flexible than you guys in that reguards considering he was directly involved in the damn mortis arc.
    The darkside is Power, the Lightside is knowledge that is what is being shown, neither are good or evil, and one cannot discount one over the other, thats the true message. George has clearly moved past that childish, immature black and white mentality of X good, Z bad and moved to, choices have consequences and you must accept that. The son wasn't *tempted* by the darkside, or fell to it, he's a represntation of the darkside who became filled with bitterness and made a mistake that cost him his family. But the daugther isn't in the right either, she's not selfless, she's just cowardly, refusing to actually act on her own to pull her brother out of his stupor and talk to him. "It is in his nature" is just an excuse of an arrogant, dogmatic supremisit who thinks she's better than someone else on principle alone, she lacks ambition but has replaced it with apathy. The brother has too much ambition which fuels his feeling of being trapped and unable to express himself, but both are expressions of the force itself.
    It feels very contradictory to call them 'representatives' of the light and darkside, and then call the brother a 'victim' of the darkside as you can't be a victim of something you embody except if it's self inflicted.
    Power without knowledge is uncontrolled and lashes out without regard for friend or foe, that was the brother, but knowledge without power is restricted, unable to make proper change, that is the daughter. One must temper power with knowledge to properly wield either in the form that one desires, and this tracks with the jedi's own power and who the master's are.
    The jedi council isn't just filled with super force sensitive people, no some are quite weak in that reguards, rather it's filled with intellectuals, scientists like Plo who uses his knowledge of science to apply his power effectively. Or mace who used his knowledge of lightsaber forms to create vapad and similar individuals, meanwhile the sith often are paranoid, leaping at shadows, yet still terrifyingly powerful. The darkside is power, drawing from passion while the lightside is knowledge drawing from understanding.

      How is that the fandom's fault when Lucasfilm just reinforced non-existence of grey Jedi and amplified how corrupting the dark side is in the Disney canon, that it even tempted Luke Skywalker himself?

    • @craytherlaygaming2852
      @craytherlaygaming2852 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Hello-bi1pm ????
      since when has the darkside ever *actually* been shown to be corruptive?
      answer? never, it's never been shown to have the slightest corruptive effect, not like people *claim* it has, I never see a one ring scenario of "throw it into the fire" only for whispers or an allure to cloud the user's mind and make them do something they otherwise wouldn't.
      All we are shown, is evil people who happen to *use* the darkside *manipulating* people with good intentions and those people *choosing* to do bad things of their own free will. Luke tempted by the darkside? yeah tempted... power is tempting... but... thats not what happened and you're making shit up.
      And if *lucusfilm* is the group that introduced gray jedi? then... fucking bitch, THATS THE MOST FUCKING DEPENDABLE SOURCE ON THE MATTER. Besides Disney also has shit like the Bendu, who uses BOTH sides of the force explicitly, thats his whole shtick.
      Give me one, just one *actual* example of the *darkside* corrupting someone... not someone *using* the darkside corrupting someone, but the *darkside* itself, taking *control* of someone's mind, and *twisting* it, without a third party involved.
