    O used three of this units on a spec ops rescue unit (para-mili) and the reception (even on the manpack whip) was fantastic !!!!!
    The automatic whisper mode is unbelievable !!!!
    Only for tactical use.
    You cannot go through the band, ham style 😀😀 (no vfo 😀).
    You select the frequency, adjust the ATU and stay there 😀😀😀.
    (There is also a rare 50W SAS unit anti-EMP radio)
    This means that the guys that produced it knew what they were doing (very rare situation).👍

    As a SHTF prepper, wouldn't an Icom 718 with the mars mod be more useful where you could run it on any standard 12VDC power supply and transmit 100 watts? One that's smart should think more about a good all band handheld scanner radio receiver for the bug out bag over a boat anchor radio.

    • @RadioPrepper
      @RadioPrepper  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Certainly, though 100W is overkill.

    This is one of the best explanations and tutorials! Might i ask where you purchased the 5ah battery as i would like to get one, as opposed to what i have being 2 solid batteries that came with the radio! I purchased the PRC 320 many years ago, recently retired and want to set mine up! Thank you so much again for your time and many considerations - 💯

    What should i ask the seller of a clasman 320 from outside my country before i buy this radio? Is ot easy to find circuit parts ?
    Thank you

    • @RadioPrepper
      @RadioPrepper  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello. Ask if the capacitors have been changed. That will need to be done eventually... Some parts are easy to find, but the integrated circuits, near impossible.

    Are these usable in the us? How would I go through charging or connecting to a us wall socket? Thank you

    • @RadioPrepper
      @RadioPrepper  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, but I think you need an importation letter if you buy from the UK. The seller would know. These work with Clansman 24V NiCad batteries. You need a Nicad 20-cell charger too. See clansman-radio.co.uk

    Hi Gil ! Où peut on trouver la whip complète pour le PRC 320 ? En Italie il ne font plus le kit accessoires et c'est bien dommage . Sur le site anglais je ne la vois pas non plus. E-Bay peut être .... Mais j'ai pas confiance ! 73 de F4DNP.

    My problem with radios like these are weight. If you're going to be on foot for as extended period of time carrying one of these will get old very quickly. I think I'll stick with my KX3. Weight is your biggest enemy when it comes to bugging out on foot, and that probably weighs about as much as a week's worth of food.

    • @RadioPrepper
      @RadioPrepper  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely. I have said the same many times.

    • @AmishSpecialForces

      If money was no object and I wanted an all-weather HF radio I'd look at the Codan 2110M, but it's still 4.6kg with the battery. I'd rather have 2kg MAX for the whole package, antenna included.

    • @RadioPrepper
