Hello and welcome to DIY & GARDEN
Today I’m going to show you
How to make a Fertigation System
Fertigation is the process of running fertilizer through irrigation water
1-The Stand
we need: 9 pcs 4 Ft long and 18 pcs 9 inches
9 pcs 4 Ft long
Measure 9 inches from the end, and fix the small piece
Measure 3 inches and fix another small piece
Repeat the same process for the rest
I’m going to use black plastic agriculture mulch
Plastic farm Ground nails
Cover the ground with plastic
To reduce viral disease vectors such as aphids, and other pests And weed control, avoid using Now fix the stand to the ground Next fix the v channel to the stand
Measure and cut 3 Ft (we need 6 pcs)
Next fix them with the stands Quality check …
2- irrigation Things required: 4 mm micro tube
Dripper
, 2 pcs End cup 16 mm Dripper
1 pcs TEE 16 mm
2 pcs Elbow 16mm
40 Ft X 16 mm poly Pipe
20 Ft (7x4mm) tubing
Puncher
4 mm hole Punch
20 pcs nipper 4 mm
Irrigation is just a fancy word for watering Insert the stopper with the end of the pipe
Place the 16 mm Poly pipe and tie it up with the stand
Next insert the elbow to the first tube, and the Tees to the other tubes
Connect the elbow and the Tees together using the 16 mm pipe.
Next cut the 4mm micro tubing (15pcs X 2 Ft)
Then insert the nipper
Measure and mark at each 1 Ft
Use the Puncher and make a hole on the pipe.
Then insert the nipper inside
3-growing media:
I’m going to use coco peat as growing media
And black polybag (16 inches X 16 inches)
Fill the polybags with the coco peat
coco peat can hold a lot of water. It is often used as a substitute for or mixed with peat moss
Coco peat has a starting pH that is acceptable to most vegetables
It is a good practice to wash any coco before using
Tie the polybags together and with the stand
First drip with water to flush tannins in coco peat
Flush until you see clean water coming out from the bottom of the polybag
If coco is not properly washed during processing it can have high levels of salt, which may damage salt-sensitive crops.
I placed my reservoir here, away from the sun
I recommend to use plastic barrel they are great option
Next Fill the reservoir with water
and add some Clorox and drip
Water pump:
60 W H. MAX: 3M F.MAX: 3000 L/H
After than flush with water again
Then at last drip EM (effective microorganisms)
Mix 50 ml with 10 liters of water
Effective microbe is a living organism, witch live in the media
through anaerobic process
EM can stimulate plants intake of fertilizer
EM also stabilize the media Ph
Some EM act as plant growth regulator
I have already germinated and prepared cucumber seeds now the seedling ready to transfer to our system
After washing the coco peat now we can start planting
Plant the seedling and place the dripper directly to the roots
5-mixing the fertilizers I’m using hydroponic liquid fertilizer I’m mixing in rain water
Check the EC after adding fertilizer and continue adding small amounts of fertilizer until the target EC is reached Let the pump run or Stir the reservoir by hand
we need to digital timer plug
easy to use, read the instructions
why we need digital timer plug?
In fertigation, liquid fertilizers are delivered to plants with irrigation
Fertigation scheduling depends on the crops need within required time
Before scheduling fertilization, calculate the amount of water from the dripper in one minute
Turn on the water pump Drip in a bottle or measuring cup for 1 minute
So we know the amount of water coming from the dripper in 1 minute
For cucumber seedling, daily needs 500 ml
So I schedule as follows:
8 am 2 Min -10 am 2 Min -12 am 2min -3 pm 2 min -5 pm 2 min

Best video for beginners 🎉 thanks man👍
you're welcome
Thank you for your video, it gives me idea on how to set up irrigation system for my garden. It’s helpful and benefitting. Thank you so much for your sharing. I hope to see more of your planting like rock melon and lettuce. I also hope you can share more on how to control diseases and pest from attacking and eating the leaves. Thank you
Hi there!
thanks for watching here is my rock melon video

sure more videos in the future.
superb sir what a great explanation and demonstration of how to build a setup
thanks
It was a great video, Im planing to do tomatoes on closed plastic 4 by 4 square metre using haifa products, what can you recommend and your soil purification products before you start your fertigation where do you get them by the way im from South Africa
Wooowwww you are the best 😎😍
Thanks
Very good.
Thank you.
bruh thank you for the video
Welcome
Hello po! May list of materials po ba kayong ginamit? and locally available po ba siya?
Hello sir. I wanna ask if you are fertilizing 500 ml daily or feed, plain water, feed, plain water? Thanks in advance.
silvershine ....silver should on top
nice one!! please also do a quick video update on your aquaponics; cheers!
Hi there!
Here is the update

@@DIYGARDENWITHBBHi, I've already seen this one, I was curious to see if you added more plants and how big the fish are atm.
@@6cryn
i added another grow bed, and the big i ate few alredy one fish was about 600 g . the taste is good .
Is that reading in “micro-Siemens” or is it in “milli-Siemens” ?
merci
love it. want to try this. what liquid fertilizer did you use?
thanks, I used a prepared fertilizer...you can make your own.. will upload a video to explain how to make it .
Great video, do u use fresh water at any point or is it always the fertilizer it’s getting
i used freshwater during the germination only , after that i used fertilizer..
Just out of curiosity, instead of building racks for placing the bag of coco peat, could they be placed on the floor? Is there any specific reason for placing high up above the ground?
To keep away from parasitic and fungal diseases that come from the soil and more benefits.
but still can place your bags on the ground.
may i know, what is the prevention here that you did? 19:20 thank you
Hi there !
I meant when your garden and tools clean , spray EM once a month , follow your plants stage so if anything you noticed at early stage.
This is the prevention or protection.
Hello sir, I'm interested in this technology. Do you still need to fertigate when it's raining?
yes...
Nice... What could be the cost of this project....
Hi there !
It cost me around 50 USD
(Metal for the Stand + cocopeat + water pump + irrigation line )
Can I ask what EC is?
EC is the measurement of electrical conductivity within your nutrient solution.
Dont you have root rot or stem rot.
I haven't face any root rot or stem rot.
So do you always apply fertilizer or just water sometimes
I apply fertilizer only.
@@DIYGARDENWITHBB I was kinda wondering, won't there be salt build up or you lowered the concentration of the fertilizer
@@vondarycrentsil9180 I'm growing cucumbers it takes 34 days to start harvesting, and since the cocopeat is the growing medium it won't build salt..if you want to apply one time water also can .
@@DIYGARDENWITHBB Ohk I understand, thanks
