      Im Jerry and Im a Sur-Ron owner. Yes, i fell victim to it too, even bought extra battery. Then more, but I really used for the pits at the race track. Even using it there, its racing. Watching this guy on this bike shows what its capable of since he is a talented rider. It reminds me of 2nd and 3rd gear on a V4R Ducati...Since you made this video, has any news changed on USA deliveries yet? By the way, I love my Sur-Ron, its a good well built bike and for the money, hard to argue with real world 35 miles of terrain, and still had juice too after a couple hours of riding. Like all things, its a good starting point, very interested in the power of this bike, it appears to have all you can ask for based on watching your acceleration points, us like like minded....um.... "Throttle Engineers", that was your first ride. Think of it in 20 days of riding it....hopefully a very short list of "Do Nots" that will ultimately tell us if its a good fast and stable bike. I like the look of it, Luna should be on top of this one, and possibly the ending of Sur-Ron with Segway buying into Sur-Ron.. I wouldnt want a company to exist and outselling their bikes, for less money, This bike here from Czech, looks promising

    The other feature on Drill One not many know about is it comes with changeable motor axis sprockets - that with a simple tool in 3 seconds can be changed out for adjusting motor torque and riding conditions and terrain. So now with the changeable maps , adjustable footpegs and adjustable rear suspension geometry pivot points. Its very easy to find your best custom setup. This helps when riding hard and fast - which is what this bike is made for. We love SurRons too and brilliant value or their money - (in fact they are silly under priced by the Chinese) so any Dirt E Bike after SurRon pricing may look expensive. if you look beyond price to the value of the complete package and you want to ride green and sick of fumes pollution and loud gas noise of KTM -etc.. this is an option. yes you wont get the range of gas bike of course ...but it depends where your own compromised break even position for doing something good for the environment and getting into new technology sits with you :)

    At $9k+ I’d say it’s not a direct comparison to the $3600 Sur Ron. But they are in the same class of emoto bikes (MTB components, handles more like a regular MTB, no pedals, all electric, less than 150lbs).

    • @troymuni6120
      @troymuni6120 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      On paper, I agree. In reality, no, not unless you leave it stock and just ride it on the street. Once you add up the cost of all of those improved components, it's essentially the same price...and you just saved yourself a lot of time and aggravation getting it straight from the factory in a finished state.

      i mean the sur ron is waaayyy beter than this drill one, but in my opinion the sur ron is a bit more ugly lower top speed it looks more like a motorcycle and the forks looks like they a bit too thin. so i like the drill one more. but the price hurts

    • @ElectricCycleRider

      @ATCr Absolutely. The reason I briefly mention the Sur-Ron is exactly what you said above, it is the same class of bike due to their style, weight and components. @@mshock9637 You do realize this is an electric motor right? Not an internal combustion engine. They have VASTLY different power and operating characteristics. An internal combustion engine puts out utterly sweet fuck all torque at very low RPM and has a rising torque curve and a relatively low operating RPM range. This is why you need a gearbox...... they're very weak and inefficient without them. Electric motors can operate from 0rpm with massive torque and have a vastly wider operating range. That is why you don't need a gearbox.
      You cannot do the same with with petrol/diesel engines in a car or bike use case.

    I've had two of the original bikes for over a year in South Florida and they are just flat out AWESOME! I own multiple Sur-ron's and wish these came out sooner as the surr-ron are now the loaner bikes for friends to ride as we never touch them anymore. I have to say for the performance and reliability of the two demo bikes I have been better than my sur-ron's. I've had to tow the sur-rons home behind it a few times and this was even after a good thrashing and still, plenty of battery left. Don't get me wrong the sur-ron's are great play biles like an XR 80. But the Drill is more of a purpose-built bike in comparison as it comes with much more capable suspension and a real frame that handles anything you can throw at it.
    The Drill is much more fun and can take you anywhere you can think of. The Drill has multiple power levels you can ride it in and in the medium mode is so much fun to ride and still offers more performance than the Sur-ron. I like all the bikes and just wish the sur-ron was a bit bigger and tougher as you have to be careful on it or you'll break parts. I have 1 stock and two modded sur-ron's and even with the 84v setup and the nucular 24F controller on the sur-ron with full fox suspension, it's not comparable to the Drill as a whole riding such a small package.
    I was never able to fold or break the MTB front wheel even jumping off 10ft step down at 40mph the only problem is it would wash out easily in the corners when were racing because it was so narrow and light as the front basically skated at al times when you're on the power. If you install a real front fender the bike looks so much better. I'm here sharing my opinion as this bike flat out incredible to experience. I sold our big bore dirt bikes and we just have a fleet of new generation of electric dirt bikes.
    We have zero regrets about the Drill and enjoy them regularly. Yes, and without question, it's a Sur-ron Destroyer! Most importantly you have to remember you are not comparing apples to apples here.

      How did you get 2 of the original bikes a year ago? Do you have the original designers Rev-x bikes?

    • @mainiero50
      @mainiero50 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rayheppner8391 Yes, the bikes Bob designed were the first and now Drill is tuned and more complete production version. I have been able to put these bikes through just about everything I could think of and the only thing I have to maintain is the chains as the enormous amounts of torque stretches them. I've had 2 chains on the bike so far as the power is way too much fun! The best part of these bikes is the reliability has been extremely impressive as my son and myself ride hard and love
      to use the power and have the bikes tweaked. The wheel combos are something that is important as by getting a stronger lighter wheel on the bike it extended the range and overall battery performance. I see too many people add bigger tires and wheels to the sur-rons and they don't realize the loss of power and performance even on a bike like a drill as the thinner more aggressive tire is much better all-around by keeping the weight and drag down. I have seen it with all my bikes and prefer lighter, narrower, more aggressive setup as these bikes are so light they bite good with anything and the wheel speed is much better all around. I have a custom-built 1.4 on the front and it has made the bike react similar to the lightweight MTB wheel only with a ton of traction.

Riser bars, Suspension front and back shock. 21 inch front wheel , tyres. + labour cost of building battery and fitting nucular or ASI controller. have Done all of this stuff to several SurRons .. and no it won’t beat Drill - these are different motors. drill one also uses Sony Murata VTC6 high amp discharge cells and runs a 48v system for safety and long term performance .. not a modded 72v low amp cells to burning point. ??? Once you get up over 12kw on a SurRon - the motor loses efficiency. @CJ Moto The reason I briefly mention the Sur-Ron in my review is because they are a very similar category of bike. As @Richi Bob mentioned, the bikes weigh almost the same, use the style suspension, brakes, handlebars, stem, wheels, mid-drive electric motors. The price on the Drill One is TBD as it's not technically for sale in the US yet but it will cost more than the Sur-Ron due to it's higher end components. And as @Troy Muni pointed out, a lot of Sur-Ron owners are spending a lot of money upgrading their Sur-Rons. Not trying to put down the Sur-Ron here, I have plenty of videos about that bike too. Hard to ride this CZEM and not juxtapose it to a Sur-Ron.

They're running a very low voltage 48v battery at insane amps (amps=heat). Any time I try to mob it turns off on me (with in a few minutes), maybe I should get sponsored by them because this bike can't keep up.
    WHEN I CALLED they informed me that it's not supposed to be a dirt bike and that its actually a trials bike...
    OTHER THEN THAT, I swapped out the front fork to FOX 40s and the bike feels amazing.
