@@alexyoungcarpenter4208not that I remember seeing when I was there but it's not really high in Muslim population. You probably can get that down in Lancaster City which is not very far south
Most of the shops are indeed closed by 6. Any cafe or small shop of note in the area closes either 3-4 the earliest and by 5 the latest. Only a handful of restaurants and big chain stores are open later until like 9 or 10.
lititz is absolutely beautiful. i visit quite often with my lady as my in laws live there…i will say this though, despite the picture they paint, if you’re looking to move there just know, the locals would much rather maintain the status quo lol. they aren’t to fond of any changes in the demographics. obviously not EVERYONE, but enough to let it be known.
Which demographics? I live in Bucks county and have thought about retiring their. I guess they would know I'm not really local but I'm not that far away. Demographically I'm German and English so I guess I want to stand out.
I live Millersville (Amish area) which is about five miles from Lititz and and everything except eateries and Weiss supermarkets and gas stations shut down around 6pm. All of the businesses here are retail and there is no real public transportation here so businesses have to allow time for their employees to commute home.
Everything in the Lancaster area shuts down early including some gas stations except Rutters, Wawa, Turkey Hill and Sheetz which are open 24 hours. Walmart closes now at 11pm too which used to also be open 24 hours before the Pandemic.
@@LordCommandor Oh yeah. I almost forgot about them. There aren't that many in the area though and they're kind of new. The relatively new 7 Eleven on State Rd. near US Route 283 I think is also open 24hrs. Apart from Gas stations and convenience stores... Oh yes and CVS Pharmacy on Lititz Pike everything is closed by around 8 pm or so.
My wife is starting a new job in Columbia. Shortly after she starts her job. Maybe around June where going to start looking to move out near like Litiz . Something to rent to start out.. does 55 community rent ? Anywhere?
Tip: if you’re walking around with a soft pretzel my family is definitely calling you a tourist if we drive by 😂there are so many tourists in Lititz it’s become a family tradition to say, “look at the touristas!” In our car. 😂
Tourist towns always have a balance if it gets to be too crazy it's annoying for locals but without them most of the stores on main Street would likely shut down
@@LancasterLiving Google: What is the Rock and Roll Capital of the World? ....and you get Cleveland, OH I wouldn't call this place the Rock and Roll capital of the world. Nashville is the music capital of the world.
Hi Donna - good question. You’re looking for the town with the lowest millage rate, which they base taxes off of. Places like Earl Twp, Drumore Twp, and Providence Twp have the lowest overall millage rates and thus the lowest property taxes in the county.
You can come and set one up if you'd like. Just be VERY careful, because some of the locals are extremely extremely racist and might start trouble with you because they're very close minded and scared of anything that they are not used to. I wish I were kidding
@@joeclark7298 As an African American living here in Millersville I concur. But me and my wife also notice that this part of Lancaster including Lititz also has a plethora of same sex couples as well. Not here to judge but we never expected to see so many here in this conservative area of town

I was at Lititz when I went to the US for my son's graduation at Franklin and Marshal College at Lancaster, Pennsylvania. A nice, cool place!
Congrats to your son!! Glad you had a chance to visit.
@@LancasterLiving Thanks.
I literally have lived in Lititz since I was born

It is pretty laid back there.
I live so close to the rock lititz
Wooo! Seen any celebs?
Is it true though that everything shuts down at 6pm?
Nope! Cafes close around 3-4 PM but that’s normal for cafes. Restaurants stay open until 9-10ish. Little shops close around 5-8 or so.

I’m so sad because the town used to smell like chocolate because of the factory
That is definitely one drawback. No chocolate smell! Can still drive up to Hershey for that experience :)

Hi Eric - in Lititz? Probably $250k-$300k for a townhouse, $350k-$425k for a single family.

Lol so many people.
The Rock and Roll capital of the world is actually Cleveland, OH.
This was according to the Economist article!
