I won't trust this procedure as of 3:40 you are re-positioning the new chip on the module, and the way you did it, I'm wondering how reliably could you ensure that the soldering points coincide perfectly, given that the margin is a millimeter or less.
@@ssfoo1948 i think the soldering pins which he is made in the chip is thiner and smaller than the gaps soldring points in the ram so he can re-soldering it perfectly

@@FR4M3Sharma That makes no sense, if you buy a bulk of them it still takes the same amount per module to try and fix it, which will usually fail with the shown method. If spending 1 hour to try to fix 1 module is not worth it, how would spending 1000 hours to try to fix 1000 modules be worth it? Lets say you buy 1000 broken memory modules for $1000, you buy 1000 memory chips for $4000. You need different types of memory chips for different memory modules so you'd spend ~1000 hours determining which chips you might need, and another 1000 hours actually contacting various suppliers, purchasing parts and tracking down datasheets which are often not even made public by companies such as Samsung... At this point you start, averaging 5 hours per module (testing, troubleshooting, determining which chip(s) might be broken and need replacing and actually replacing those chips). In the end you spend some 7000 hours to fix perhaps 200-300 memory sticks which you can sell as second hand repaired for perhaps up to $10 each for a price of $3000 while you have spend $5000 just in parts and some 7000 hours in labor... This doesn't take into account that you'd need an oscilloscope ($150000) capable of testing RAM memory, a logic analyzer (~$20000) and a custom testing rig adapted to each specific memory module type (one for Hynix, one for Samsung, one for Elpida etc.) which would take a few months to develop at least... Cost to repair 200-300 out of 1000 modules: Probably >$50,000.... Possible profit: $-49,700.......
