    All weather floor mats, front heated seats and engine block heater come standard here in Canada 👍

    Hello - I am a big fan of your channel, and thank you so much for your help.
    I also have a 2019 Adventure with the all weather package. Have you had problems with the heated seats in the winter?
    I am having an issue where the heated seats turn on, and are very hot, even though I have not turned them on. The heated seats do not respond to me turning them on/off while the car is running, and only turn off when the car is turned off.
    Have you had this problem with your car? I would appreciate your thoughts!!! Thank you!

    Oil undercoating's are absolutely necessary in the midwest and will prevent all of the damage done from salt in the midwest. I agree, I try not to drive in the winter when the are salting, but somtimes it is what it is. Oil undercoatings make cars last pretty much forever in terms of preventing rust.

    I didn't know about the resistors under the wipers. That's really neat

    RAV4 cold temp...water in oil resulting in low oil pressure...it's a known thing for some 13 or 14 Toyota models...It has happened to me two winters in a row...three strikes and for me Toyota will be a nogo as a cold temp vehicle. I talked with dealer mechanic...no cure...drive rav more maybe...not much help

    On mine I do t need to hold on the third click to start. I’m lucky I guess, I just hit it three times and it starts every time.
    Good video though for most people. I’m unfortunately in Canada so I’m used to all this :(

      Wow. Maybe I've been doing it wrong with the remote start. I'll have to give your method a try.

    idling will not bring the engine to optimum temperature. Only driving will do that.

    • @wingnutmcspazatron3957
      @wingnutmcspazatron3957 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So how do you get it to warm up without driving?

    • @pierrevincent9568
      @pierrevincent9568 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wingnutmcspazatron3957 it will warm up enough to heat the cab, but it will only warm to OPTIMUM temperature if in drive. The engine is designed to work, not idle. Suboptimal temperature idling means incomplete combustion, unburned gasoline trickles past the piston rings down into the crank case, diluting the oil, which causes premature engine wear. As well, carbon builds up in the combustion chamber. Idling is bad. Your owner's manual says so, any mechanic will tell you the same thing.

    What do you recommend doing about the rust damage caused by salt roads? Anyway to prevent or clean?

    • @Rav4Gen5
      @Rav4Gen5  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You have to remove the plastic panels from the underside to see what has gone through. After that, I would just give it a simple wash. I haven’t found a lift in my area to do this and evaluate what it looks like but I just sprayed the bottom with my pressure washer. Nothing to crazy.

    How did you do to change the style of the icons on the head unit? I've haven't seen this option on my car :(

    • @Rav4Gen5
      @Rav4Gen5  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is something in the settings you can play with to change this I believe. Right now I have an aftermarket head-unit installed so I cannot help much more unfortunately.

      Sorry for the confusion. The one in this video is not after market. It's Toyota Head unit with Audio Plus but I don't have it installed so I cannot help with figuring out how i got the icons.
