Ok another tip. When cleaning the toilet. Turn on exhaust fan if you have one. Place a lot more cleaning product in the bowl, close the lid and go do something else in the house for about 20 minutes. After 20 minutes scrub the bowl, flush the toilet, rinse the toilet brush in fresh toilet water, place handle of brush on the rim of toilet, so the brush can drip dry into the toilet, turn off fan.

used a silicone scar patch for a dogbite scar on my face, workplace hazard. Completely helped with discoloration and flattened my scar within six months and I continue to use silicone for hydration and discoloration.Shout out to Dr. Andrea Gleich, another Houstonian dermatologist.

As someone who grew up in Southern California, I wash my windows and car to encourage rainfall. Lol.

Finally I found someone that shares the same strange habit! When I buy something new, I like to wait a while before opening/taking tags off 😆 Dr. Dray, you aren't alone!
EU banned the usage of a couple of silicones (cyclopentasiloxane amongst them) due to environmental issues they are causing. They are liquid, non biodegradable plastic that ends up in the waters for fish to consume.

True Baronesse I was going to try the chest one because I like my creams on my face at night I can't imagine not using cream. Now that I know what they do to the environment I shall just put up with a wrinkly chest instead.
My silicone patches just came yesterday, and I wore them last night. My forehead has some wrinkles - semi deep ones, and wow, I am astounded. It's 3 p.m. and my forehead still looks much less wrinkled than normal. It took awhile for them to dry; I rinsed them after use, but other than that these may be a keeper, definitely going to keep them in my nightly routine for the next few weeks and see how it goes.
Laurie - which brand? Did you order from their website or Amazon?
Laurie thanks for sharing your experience. I’m considering them for my forehead as well. I used them long ago on a surgical scar and was impressed. They were just called scar sheets. What brand are you using?

Hi Dr. Dray! You linked a Sio silicone patch for your neck and face
in an earlier video. Is there any reason that the less expensive silicone patches (so many on Amazon ) would not be just as good?
I used to do that same thing with new exciting stuff. Mine is because I grew up without a lot of money and so we really "saved" the good stuff when we were able to get something like that. I had to train myself to enjoy the things I get otherwise I'm just being wasteful. Now I receive it, take the wrapper off/open package immediately and happily put it in its new home in our home. Hope your mom is doing well!
Tip on window washing. Use car wash soap on the outside windows if windows are high up you can just scrub using your pole and microfiber scub pad then rinse with a hose and the glass will dry spot free.

I just started using the Sio patches this weekend. Question: if I usually moisturize and apply tretinoin at night, what do I do if I’m using the patches? It says to not use ANY creams or products under them. So that means if you are covering most of your face with them you can’t use your nighttime products 🤔
Yeah that’s an interesting question, I was thinking about buying them, hmm hopefully she answers ur question🙏
That's what I'm wondering about working them into my routine. I asked on IG and they clarified for me that the skin needs to be completely dry and free of product where the patches make contact to get the most use out of them 🤷
No product . Just clean , dry skin . Let the silicone do the work !

Yes, I use a white noise machine so I know what you mean. It has different levels of sound and one of them is the sound of a fan. I always fall asleep quickly on that setting.
Also my bathroom has pink and rose gold accents as in the rugs, and my shower curtain is gray with some gold and I have the clear fake bling crystal shower curtain rings. Both from the “Amazonian” lol.
I also love doing some yoga with Adrienne videos before bed. She has some bedtime and regular cozy flow yoga routines that are just right for settling into sleep :)

Just a few videos back , yep I'm losing my mind in lockdown so I can't tell you exactly what day, she discusses these silicone patches I believe they are called Sil and I think there is a link and that video or maybe you can just Google the patches. Imma get those too but trying to be careful with purchases while in lockdown so I don't have to rent a mobile attic to store my goods! Idle Minds, fingers, and a laptop along with a credit card can get you in lots of trouble.

I have a strong comforting history with fan noise from childhood and have used it my whole life to cultivate rest and good sleep. I loved the bedtime clip at the end with your Vornado sound. I will consider this brand when I need another fan. Sending hope & kindness to all. 💕
As a physical therapist I always recommend Vionics for clients. Great for aging feet that lose their fatty pads, great shock absorbers for people with hardwood/ceramic floors, and of course if you have plantar fasciitis, heel spurs or pronated feet. Please talk about the Sio pads. I find them so drying. They feel like duct tape when I take them off and feel like they are stretching my skin so I stopped using them.

I saw your first video of the SIO patches and I purchased them. After purchasing, I am having doubts. If they can ONLY go on clean skin I will not be able to use anything when I wear them, correct? I would appreciate more info (f/u review?) on them and any other possible silicone that products can be worn with other products. Thanks Dr. Dray! It’s temporarily but the more you do it the more it lasts and the less maintenance you need.
Believe it or not I’ve been watching your skin care reviews for about 5 hours plus now ( no exaggeration ) still have yet come to conclusion on what cleanser, exfoliant, & lotion/sunscreen to get. Have the money to spend but also don’t want to waste money.. it’s very overwhelming with everything being different & for various types.. Im a male, have dry, somewhat rough skin, redness on cheeks occasionally. If someone can just flat out recommend the best cleanser, lotion/sunscreen it would be very helpful.. thank you for all your videos they have helped me so much! Just so indecisive
Ponds cold cream fragrance free and cerave sa cleanser for double cleansing. No need for additional exfoliants if you use the sa cleanser regularly. Use the cerave daily moisturizer after cleansing. Blue lizard sunscreen if you dont care about cast, otherwise get the cerave am with spf 30. My husband's routine. He and i share cleansers and moisturizers, but i prefer chemical sunscreens.
That's great news! I had a botched surgery on my wrist & ended up getting bullied for it in high school; my mom got me a silicone patch, which I used for a year but I just assumed the scar got better because of time & mini lotion massage sessions I was giving it, since it was difficult to keep the silicone flat to the area.
...I feel very vulnerable at night without my flashlight. You're the only one I know who has one by her pillow also. (And I thought I was crazy; I may be...but not about the flashlight.)

Oh my God! Like even as a kid after Christmas n stuff I had a hard time opening my goodies . It's like want to appreciate it instead did rushing into tear the packaging to bits and now it's old and used and no longer new and shiny.

Same! Maybe it's the quarantine cleaning but I found an expired tube in my closet drawer the other day! Would it do any harm? Or just be less effective?
I would *also*like to know. Most Drs say to not use anything expired but I’ve had items work..mine is from exp 5/19 I think and I have just started using it again because why not? (Dr. Dray can anything dangerous come from using it newly exp’d?)
Like you said, I was recommended to oil before bathing but now I'm making the tub dangerously slippery. I hate how mold hides in shower mats, so maybe I can find some rough floor stickers instead.
Putting a towel on the floor of the bathtub works for me. I do that and hotels as well just to make certain I don't slip.

Messier with kids toys, but cleaner with detail cleaning. For example cleaning all light bulbs in hanging fixtures, makes a huge difference the light sparkles.

Reaction and callout videos can be fun but I am grateful Dr Dray hasn't gone that route and the skincare aspect of channel remains objective and professional rather than sensational. I'd imagine Dr Dray can make so much money scrutinizing individuals, but instead sticks to logic, calling out marketing/companies/celebrities and doing her own thing-- so, so much respect. The line between professionals (Dr. Dray, Dr. Lim, Dr. Bunting, etc.) and your average "influencer" has never been more clear and I am grateful.

That Goop gal is a little 'too much'. Thank you for sharing your informed opinion about silicones. I see that Function of Beauty gives customers the option to not include silicones in their customized shampoos and conditioners. I like using a particular body oil in the shower, but always exercise commonsense caution in regards to slipping/fall risk.
Can you do a video explaining sunscreen and morning routines? I use ordinary serums prior to my sunscreen that is like a lotion. I have no idea if I am being protected with my routine. I use Olay complete moisturizer spf. Thanks! :) absolutely love the channel!

Dr dray question, i know that you recommend cerave am. Is that enough for sun protection. I cant see myself using a teaspoon for my face. If i did that id have to buy the cerave moisturizer twice a week. How can i afford this it seems like a ton..

Whoa....can you talk in detail about using an oil as a buffer on eczematic skin before showering? Never heard anyone advise or talk about this, but it makes sense! Which oil, how long, etc is all very helpful!!

My mom started early on her spring cleaning. Whole upstairs (windows + curtains) and all the bath mats, and for the rest she as good as deep cleans weekly.

@@sable7114 Find little projects in and around the house to do, and if you have a garden, why not prune stuff there and plant some things, if the weather's nice.
@@amixeblu good idea but I am obviously not as together as your mom. All of my projects seem to be huge and requires help and no one wants to come near me right now nor do I want them near. I've always wanted a garden but I'm so fearful of snakes. My mom kept a beautiful garden and she just killed the snakes with no fear whatsoever. Maybe I could try to plant something in a pot like dr. Dre did but I'm not certain what things I am allowed to buy right now and if allowed everything is probably gone because people are looking for projects to do right now. :-)
@@sable7114 Maybe start small and get some Hyacinthus bulbs (can stand frost, so it's an all year plant) or get an orchid (they are nice to take care of).
It seems that the maintenance people could have left their ladder out in the hall for you to use and then you put it back in the hall when you were done. It could have been sprayed with disinfectant. Our phone went out and Internet was mess d up. They were able to fix it outside, but if there would have been inside work, they were going to leave the parts at our door, stand outside and talk us through the repair.
Pretty apartment...I'm still homeless. Arizona used to be affordable, not anymore...everyone fled here, not sure why and the rents are astronomical. I started Tretinoin and am outside alot, so I try to keep covered and sunscreen "mineral"

I like you am more inclined to clean and organize more in depth when I'm home more and have more time to notice my surroundings. When I work away from home a lot, I tend to put the more complex cleaning jobs off longer.

I do that all the time too! Wait awhile before I use my latest purchase. Maybe to keep the excitement at bay?? Prevent myself to become too fanatical about something materialistic? Getting the purchase used to its environment? Making the joy of the purchase last just abit longer?? It could be any one of these🤔

Moisturizers with dimethicone clog my pores. I always get whiteheads on my forehead and upper cheeks when I put dimethicone on my face.
