Hi Rusty, I'm so glad for you on the Tiffany & Co. Earrings. As you probably know, pearls should only be gently rubbed with a soft white cloth-no chemicals, not even water. Whoever left the crud that may have been a silver polish was much too close to it. I just came on really to give one more suggestion to selling the single stud sterling and probably citrine earring that you came close to mentioning, but barely by. My daughter has 4 or 5 piercings going up the side of her ear and often wears various studs. She and others like her are buyers who would buy one earring, so the other suggestion was to just it as is. There are buyers for single earrings, especially small stud earrings. I like your style and enjoy your videos! Best wishes to you. Lauren in Massachusetts.

I think the multi band ring was for a neck scarf. They were popular in the 70’s.

You can separate natural or cultured pearls from imitations by gently rubbing them against the edge of a front tooth. A natural , or a cultured pearl will feel slightly gritty while the artificials are smooth.

I was going to mention what others did, that the coiled ring is a scarf ring, you thread both ends through it so you don't have to tie it. I was wincing when you were poking around the edges of the pearl with your pointer. I was worried you would scratch it by accident in your excitement! Lol. I'm so happy for you! Thank you for spending your money to educate us!

Congrats on the Tiffany earrings! Wow wee!
I still have a good portion of about 4 or 5 very cheap jewelry jars that I purchased from an animal support group around 2 years ago. I kick myself all the time that I didn’t buy more when I had the chance. A lot of it was craft and repair grade, but there was some really good stuff in there and I have sold some of it. When I was ready to buy some more, there wasn’t any. The volunteers told me that the lady who did the jars was not doing them because she was taking care of her sick husband, but that when she came back, they would have some jars to sell again. They never did. They now have jewelry again, but it’s sold individually and a lot of it is in a locked case. Moral of the story: when you see something at a great price that you can afford and it’s something in high demand, grab all of it you can afford because it’s likely you won’t see that same deal again.

If you find old gold or silver pins or brooches, unlock the pin on the back and inspect the pin and lock. Often times there are marks on one or the either that can tell you more about metal content. I’ve found many brooches that were actually gold or silver with gold plating and bought for a small fraction of what they’re worth. Good luck on your searches!

I think the single green earring that you said isn’t valuable is actually a pendant that someone has tried to make it appear to be an earring. Take the ear wire off and it will be clear to you. It’s probably not a good piece, but you want to classify it correctly. Thank you for your teaching style. Humbly learning together.

Nice find! I used to go to garage sale and find wonderful items. My husband found a opal necklace, single stone beautiful on both sides, about half inch oval and 18k chain necklace for $1.50 with a single rose zircon pendant in 14 kt for $1.50, he got for $3.00. We had the opal (my birthstone) valued at $2k. I would use the random pieces of nice random pieces into my hand made quilts! Even put nice ole non-working watches into my quilts! Nice.

I love these jewelry jars. I make jewelry with beads & seashells, and I dismantle old jewelry and I use the beads and other parts to make new jewelry & things. I have yet to buy my first jewelry jar. I'm sure I'll be hooked! And I couldn't help but notice the mini globe pendant. I have one of those too! The one I have is a little better quality with the continents themselves being cut into more recognizable shapes, and it has that ring around the old skool globes so you could spin them. You're lucky the globe you have has a sterling mark. The oceans of course are Lapis Lazuli and each continent is done in a different semi precious stone. I'm quite fascinated with the piece, as I love anything done in miniature. Mine is done in gold, but still not worth anything to the pawn. I was a little insulted that he referred to it as a nice "marble" LOL
And I'd say $20 for that jar was a pretty good score, considering what was in it! You almost can't go wrong with a $20.

Hi Rusty! I just discovered your channel & I’m having so much fun 🎉. A few yrs ago, I took a break from nursing and opened a small eBay store - resale shop called Sandy’s (my actual name) Serendipitous Finds.
Anyhow, I, like you, had to learn all the trade tricks from books and just reading. The folks who have found your channel are so lucky. The research you do and I did takes hours upon hours to learn so that 1. The seller doesn’t cheat him/herself and so he/she can be honest about the product
I’ve still taken away some additional tips from you so THANK YOU!
So, the small globe in this video is probably part of a kit that used to be sold - the way I understand it - I still have several of these globes (earrings & pendants) - and so each of the globes you’ll find is individually crafted by whomever purchased the kit. I tried to find the kit for sale but could not. I did find on Etsy some folks selling the globes and one seller claimed to make them.
Anyhow, a lot of words for a very small amount of information, I know. Brevity is not my strong suit.
I will keep watching your channel. I really like how you compose your information and I enjoy you. Thank you,
    Sandy from Rochester Minnesota
BTW - I really did well with selling new and used legos. Especially around Christmas ☺️
