    Hi again Mark, had a play with the Anaris today in a friends garden ( I don't have any grass.) Not a very realistic test maybe: flat ground, sheltered area, no rocks etc but still interesting. I got a feel of how versatile it is. For example, I made believe it was raining, unhooked half the inner and rolled it back; then slackened some guys and raised the front from 125 cm. to 135 cm. In that configuration there is enough head room for me to sit in a Helinox chair under the flysheet looking out at the rain. In effect turning half the interior space into a tarp shelter. Smashing. I love that feeling. I'm sure there's plenty more pitches to figure out yet. Trying a more realistic pitch in woodland tomorrow night all being well. Decided not to order the footprint. Will use my DD Magic Carpet underneath where I sleep instead.
    Not sure I would have bought this tent without the benefit of watching your video so a massive thank you mate! Got a feeling I'm gonna love it.

    • @QuakerJones268
      @QuakerJones268  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's great to hear. When used without the inner it's massive, I love the versatility of it. It's like having 5 rents in one.
      It's always awkward recommending kit to people as we all like different things so I'm really pleased you like it. I'm sure you will grow to love it as I do mine. I hope you have some brilliant adventures in it. 👍

    Hi Mark, good to see you enjoying the Anaris. I haven't christened mine yet. There is a nice area of natural deciduous woodland quite close to were I live. It's not officially open to the public but I have occasionally camped there in the past with no problem so I'm thinking of taking the Anaris in there one night next week to try it out.
    Do you use a footprint with yours? The ground sheet seems quite thick and robust so I'm wondering if it's really necessary.
    Don't mention flying ants to me! I was on Lord's Seat, Peak Park, a few days ago. For some reason I didn't see any until I got right onto the summit ridge and then the ground was absolutely thick with them. They drove me up the bloody wall.
    Really looking forward to using the Anaris come spring and summer next year.

    • @QuakerJones268
      @QuakerJones268  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Frederick, I'll be honest, I am absolutely loving the Anaris, it's now my favourite tent. I used mine for the first time in woodland and that's when I began to realise I had chosen well. I do have a footprint as it came with the tent but is it really necessary? I don't think it is.
      Having used it quite a bit, I do feel like I can use it right up to the point of winter before I put it away and drag out my Nallo 2. I will put it away reluctantly, though.
      My advice would be get out in it as soon as you can. Hopefully, like me you will love it. One thing I would mention is don't overthink the pitch, sometimes it may not look right, other times it looks perfect, it all depends on the ground. Once it's up, it stays up so there is nothing to worry about. Don't chase the perfect pitch, you can get that on your lawn but thats not a fun place to camp :-)

      Hi Ceri and Kat, many thanks for watching the video. Ralph is an absolute pleasure to take along, he never fails to bring a smile to my face. Long Covid hit me really bad and I suffered a bit of permanent lung damage so I have had to scale back a bit on my trips, no more long hikes or high climbs. I do feel, at last, I am feeling better but I will never be the same as I was. The walk up for this camp was just a couple of km to a height of around 450m, that's about my limit at the moment. I get breathless very quickly as you will have noticed in the video lol. Shame I didn't get the brown trout on the bank but maybe next time. Thanks for watching, much appreciated.

      @@darrensandford4353 Hi Darren, With regards to tents, it all depends on a few things, firstly your budget, you can pick up a tent from £50 to £1000. Secondly would it be something you would want to use all year round? Is weight important or do you want ultralight?
      Nature hike do some nice 2 man tents as do Vango. Neither are really expensive and decent quality. If budget isn’t an issue and you want an all year round tent I would steer you towards the Hilleberg Nallo 2 . Very strong tent lots of space and not too heavy. Would be worth seeing if there are any second hand ones available. 👍
