From the perspective of an OTR driver, changing trucks every 5-6 days is very daunting. Can you talk about how you have minimized your gear to make going home/coming back easier?
I work nights. When I get up in the afternoon on my go home day I start taking my bedding down and pack any clothing that I have stuffed in the truck. Pack up my CPAP and get my dirty uniforms turned in. I stage everything so it's ready to go out. Still takes some time at end of shift but not as much.
I'm in the A2D program now. I was told the program is changing starting on the next round. You will now be required to get your Commercial Learners Permit on your own prior to week 1 of training. They will go over all of this when you apply and are selected.
You think so? Under day pay at .5625 a mile plus a hook, drop and hook and 100 Mike round trip is $87.25 for about 2 hours of "work"... Lol. Love this job... Thank for yoir help Rich!
Do you know how often new braunsfuls dc hire out of ? That’s the closest dc to me just wanted to know
There is no regular time. They probably won't have new hire numbers till Feb. At the new fiscal year.

If I'm at my DC I'll pull my vehicle to the tractor and get a head start. 😊

You can go into your workday and apply today
hi rich...i have a phone interview with yall for the regional plainview driver spot.
Best of luck!
Is there a written test to get your CDL before you start schooling for Associate driver program?
The facilitators will assist you in getting your cdl and permits. Last I heard is you do not want to get any items before they help you

Plainview is in the middle of nowhere. Flat, windy, terrible. Don’t do it.
That's good. Lots of miles to get to the stores. The DC near major cities make less money.

Not to mention the drop back at the DC... Another 11.50 for another 15 minutes.
Driver who sit in traffic make less..40-50$ an hour is good
Thank you Rich for your advice. Completed my onboarding last week, and now I’m in Mount Crawford VA DC Orientation. 🫡
Congrats
