Forgot the Atropine kit in the mask carrier. DCU's were also used for Sinai missions. My unit never got the vest covers nor desert boots, we were still rocking the woodland vest and jungle boots. Quick tips, ditch the flashlight into your ruck put a mini mag-light in your 2nd right hand side ammo pouch (that is your stuff pouch for pens, markers. stuff.) also attach your harness to your front ammo pouches, that way you can unconnect your web belt. Front left ammo pouch in a grenade holder you can attach a compass. Front right ammo pouch in a grenade holder attach a Snap-link to which you can add your gloves. We also had the mask slung over the shoulder, other wise it would beat your leg to death as you ran.
DBDU was also used in Somalia, with a lot of people in full choc chip gear, and if they were wearing DCU BDUs they were still wearing DBDU vest and helmet covers
Haha, Nice loadout. My dad was in gulf war, all the way to the end of operation "desert shield" (desert storm) But he was a sec. for seabees in the navy. He had a Vietnam era pot helmet. And kabar knife. He had compleate od green uniforms, with a flak jacket. When he was there the first 4 months he god stuck with an m14. instead of his m16.
bdu is quite common in my erea because i live near fort bragg and camp lejune since the army and the marines stopped using bdu/dcu a few years ago it a quite common camoflouge to find recently at my surplus store i bought 3rd ranger battalion bdus for 12 bucks
6 color DBDUs where introduced in 1971 it wasn’t fielded until 1981 another side note only a small number of divisions were close enough to the oil rigs to have gotten oil or soot

Bush Are you sure your ordered the vest and not just the cover? Yes it will work it depends on what gear you have the pasgt system is a pretty good entry level set of gear for survival..........I guess
Love 6 color desert camo, did the JROTC/ROTC use the uniforms after desert storm alongside the woodland? also was the night camo standard issue to desert storm participants?
my uncle was in desert storm he wore a flight suit and a woodland boonie hat but he was in the awacs plane so he never had to wear all the gear you have
Everybody is always bashing the 6 Color chocolate chip desert Camo. They say it's ineffective it doesn't work, bullshit it's very effective. I grew up in the west Texas desert and when I was a kid my friend's and I would have watergun and paintball fights in the desert. And whenever we did I would wear my chocolate chip Camo, I had several pairs and and my friend's always a very difficult time spotting me. So don't let anyone tell you it's ineffective.
I can only agree with you , I used several camos in Desert Areas and Chocolate-Chip is the best one ... dont use multicam or AOR or DM in the Desert they're uneffectiv xD
Love it, btw if you want it even more personal, rap some 100mph tape around the angel head around that. And I bought a NBC suit in 6 color camo, super hard to find, but ya. Also, how much for a set of 6 color desert camo uniform?
That night camo parka also has the liner in. It,- nice. The desert gets quite cold at night..U got Kit. A buddy gave me a decontamination kit, it's now in my gas mask kit. If you see anyone D.T.R.💨get Outa there.💨 (Doing the Roach) ☠

You could find GI Sets on EBay but some companies make them in a Different Material, Like Propper. They make it under their Genuine Gear/Uniform BDU Line in 60/40 Cotton Poly ripstop(Original Uniform was 50/50 NYCO Twill) Here are links to Propper's set www.propper.com/propper-uniform-bdu-coat.html www.propper.com/propper-uniform-bdu-trouser.html
CougarCombat They were used, but very scarcely because they were starting to issue them late in the war. Most soldiers had the black nylon jungle boots as you said. Those were issued all the way through the war and most soldiers already had them prior to being deployed. I got my jungle boots(which I love) along with a six color helmet cover and a 1982 laundry bag from a close family friend who was in the Gulf War.
Okay, so here's a question for my own Desert Storm loadout. would it be okay to NOT wear a cover on my vest? I have one, and it's really a bitch to wear. Also, when would the soldiers, or Marines wear their MOPP suits, and when would they just be carrying them?
LOL I know this is quite late but if you are still interested quite a bit of guys didn't where the cover on the vest and some people would wear there mob suits in the field but because it was very hot and difficult to get on they would bring it
honestly not to expensive lets just go with the base uniform and gear minus the pack pasgt vest helmet and covers around 120 web gear 25 gas mask 30 uniform including boots 45
Well, I didn't do the video, but I am working on a gulf war kit, and so far I've spent over 300+ € and I'm still missing a lot, so far I have got... My choc chip BDU, 2 sets in different sizes PASGT vest, plus choc chip cover. 2 PASGT helmet covers in choc chip, 2 issue brown t shirts (very good ones, I like them a lot) Alice webbing consisting of suspenders, belt, mah poches, buttpack, Canteen holder, canteen, first aid/compass pouch. Desert night camo pants, but not the parka :( PASGT Helmet replica. M17A2 gas mask. That's all for now, still missing boots, M16A2, chemical suit, and alice pack.
Hey will u sell me one of the choclate chip bdu jackets if I get a bdu jacket my gulf war loadout will be complete I have everything but the jacket I even have the chemical uniform so please let me know or if anybody has one I'm sure someone will read this
+Daniel Adam It wouldn't let me comment on the post so I'll say it here. On your comment about your plastic training PASGT helmet, you can put covers on them right? I might get one from Sportsman's Guide.
This is one of the most informational videos I've ever seen . Great kit and I learned a LOT. Now this is how youre supposed to do a loadout video.

Ilike Pii they also wore DBDU covers like the boonie or field cap
Thanks guys!
I came by quite a bit of the 6 color desert
Maybe it's jus the amount of veterans in my area but it's seems pretty common.

Mixd ACM Chocolate chip is innefective in middle east deserts... but it's pretty good for american deserts.
Hopefully it's not raining or sleeting where you are
Just got a helmet camera so I hope to put some videos up this weekend
All my gear is in woodland but if you practice on rolling your sleeves they would look awesome
Show your Alice rucksack contents!!
they don't use the chocolate chip because it has too much brown but if mexico invaded from the south it would be useful
The Cartels are basically invading so it would be helpful if our CBP Agents and officers had it, as well as southern based militias.
yeah
b4n4n4m4n airsoft it would be very udeul
Useful
Nice set up, I have us 80s impression only need a few items for DS impression/
