I found it helpful to create a few simple auras myself to understand how they work. The first aura I ever made from scratch was to remind me to call the Swagsnout Gromit pet in Korthia Shadowlands because I would forget it every time!
@mirandelf That is great! And agree it is a great way to learn the underlying workings. I was a coder back in the day so know about Lua and other scripting languages so that probably gave a little head start in understanding them. Depending on the Weakaura they can get really complex.
Hey love the vids, thank you for the advice and all you do! Was wondering if you have an import for your UI, been looking for a clean not addon heavy ui and yours looks amazing! Thanks :D
@pattersonrex11 Thanks for the comment! I do not have it for the entire UI since it is a mix of the standard game UI and addons. I am planning on making a video for my UI though since I have gotten a lot of questions about it.
I'm in the process of watching this video now. I had weakauras before the PrePatch & took everything off because of the new stuff. The only thing now is to finish watching video (raid & dungeons yesterday, I felt so lost with out them!). Off I go, will let you know how I make out following video!
I use weak auras. However, keep in mind that every weak aura you add whether you are using it or not adds to your load time. If you are not using it, get rid of it. Bellular gaming did a fantastic video on this.
@Mopar2yah Good point and thanks for the comment! Yeah the WAs do eat up in game memory so having a ton of them that you do not use definitely will slow load up times. It will also freeze up the game when trying to load the WA interface for a few seconds if you have a lot of them.
I make my own weakauras, if you make your own weakaura you will UNDERSTANd what they are better than any video. importing weakauras can be more confusing and I dont want random clutter on my screen
@ConeyIslandKing Thanks for the comment. Different people learn in different ways. Some can read something and understand while others are more visual so a video can help.
