You have probably thought of this, but JIC, a wee booklet or photo album, showing the transformation of the piggery would be lovely to look at while enjoying a beverage in the evening. It could live on the window sill by the table. Each transformed could have it's own little storybook. Maybe guests could take away a copy as a souvenir (and advertising for you). Eventually all the story books could be combined and include a more detailed history of the village--as you learn it. I love books and localized histories and have been privileged to help a number of people (in Canada) put their stories in book form. I'm retired now but seeing these kinds of storybooks bring much joy. What you are doing is joyful as well and the story deserves to be told.
The verbena is crazy beautiful. You should collect seeds to sell in your brocante gift shop. Give people an opportunity to bring a peace of France back with them. Just remind them to declare them.
I have a PhD in Museum Studies specializing in historic museums. One of my projects was Heritage Hill State Park in Green Bay, Wisconsin where is was executive director from 1978-1983. The citizens of Green Bay and the state of Wisconsin spent millions of dollars moving and restoring the oldest buildings in the state. Heritage Hill is a wonderful museum but your village is so much more because you are restoring the buildings on their original sites. You are conduction research, gathering input from experts, and restoring the buildings using original techniques. Bravo!! The National, state and local governments should recognize and promote your work and villages so that visitors may enjoy your love and labors! I am sharing your work with friends so that they too will know of your efforts. Your desire to share your work with others is commendable and you are to be commended!! All good wishes!!

Been watching you on Channel 4 - didn’t realise HOW MUCH you had both achieved. You have both certainly been working hard, it must be distressing to keep having you leave your main project to help ensure the other buildings don’t collapse! Would love to come and stay but unfortunately with our many health problems, insurance now makes that financially out of our reach! We have subscribed though and recommended your site to relatives. Could you perhaps allow a few campsites or Motorhome sites for rent in season, now you have some outside facilities on offer? Every little helps.

Hey Bev, yes we’ve considered that but the USP for the Horsebox area is that our guests staying in it do not have to share the facilities, they are for their private use, it’s something that the guests comment on and appreciate all of the time so we’d hate to jeopardise that. We’re hyper focused on renting a cottage out for Spring, Summer 2025 and that should bring in a wonderful bit of revenue for the roof fund here at La Buslière 🤞🏼🤞🏼… linktr.ee/yipandpaulsvillagelinks 🥰
Your place would definitely be somewhere our family would choose to stay at. We lived in Germany for 6 years and loved exploring new areas and staying in new unique places. I wish we were still living in Europe instead of being back in the US.

I am sure you have a 1 year, 3 year, 5 year plans. Finishing 1-2 gites and restore the bread oven. Consider including in your plans to have experiences as part of gite and camper rentals. Breadmaking, history of the village, dinner with owners, wine tours of local Vineyards, all as add ons to the rental.

I'd love to stay here! I've marvelled at your work since the programme first came out and am so jealous of how beautiful it is! Do you have any land you could use for camping as it's a perfect area for that and would bring in so much revenue, plus then people could stay and help with the buildings. Lovely. I'd add a gas barbie and a couple of really comfortable sunloungers with a shade umbrella. Deck chairs look great but aren't as comfortable. You have probably thought of this, but JIC, a wee booklet or photo album, showing the transformation of the piggery would be lovely to look at while enjoying a beverage in the evening. It could live on the window sill by the table.
Each transformed could have it's own little storybook. Maybe guests could take away a copy as a souvenir (and advertising for you). Eventually all the story books could be combined and include a more detailed history of the village--as you learn it. I love books and localized histories and have been privileged to help a number of people (in Canada) put their stories in book form. I'm retired now but seeing these kinds of storybooks bring much joy. What you are doing is joyful as well and the story deserves to be told.

The verbena is crazy beautiful. You should collect seeds to sell in your brocante gift shop. Give people an opportunity to bring a peace of France back with them. Just remind them to declare them.

I have a PhD in Museum Studies specializing in historic museums. One of my projects was Heritage Hill State Park in Green Bay, Wisconsin where is was executive director from 1978-1983. The citizens of Green Bay and the state of Wisconsin spent millions of dollars moving and restoring the oldest buildings in the state. Heritage Hill is a wonderful museum but your village is so much more because you are restoring the buildings on their original sites. You are conduction research, gathering input from experts, and restoring the buildings using original techniques. Bravo!! The National, state and local governments should recognize and promote your work and villages so that visitors may enjoy your love and labors! I am sharing your work with friends so that they too will know of your efforts. Your desire to share your work with others is commendable and you are to be commended!! All good wishes!!

Been watching you on Channel 4 - didn’t realise HOW MUCH you had both achieved. You have both certainly been working hard, it must be distressing to keep having you leave your main project to help ensure the other buildings don’t collapse!
Would love to come and stay but unfortunately with our many health problems, insurance now makes that financially out of our reach! We have subscribed though and recommended your site to relatives.

Hey Bev, yes we’ve considered that but the USP for the Horsebox area is that our guests staying in it do not have to share the facilities, they are for their private use, it’s something that the guests comment on and appreciate all of the time so we’d hate to jeopardise that.

I am sure you have a 1 year, 3 year, 5 year plans. Finishing 1-2 gites and restore the bread oven. Consider including in your plans to have experiences as part of gite and camper rentals. Breadmaking, history of the village, dinner with owners, wine tours of local Vineyards, all as add ons to the rental.

I'd love to stay here! I've marvelled at your work since the programme first came out and am so jealous of how beautiful it is! Do you have any land you could use for camping as it's a perfect area for that and would bring in so much revenue, plus then people could stay and help with the buildings. We'd love to do that and my partner is super handy with all kinds of building/plumbing/electric work x

👋🏼Hello Poppet, that’s currently our workshop but when the barn is done we’ll be making that our workshop which will allow us to turn that building into accommodation or inside seating for a cafe maybe. The possibilities are literally endless..
Just need to raise some money now as our wage just won’t cut-it..

Lovely. I'd add a gas barbie and a couple of really comfortable sunloungers with a shade umbrella. Deck chairs look great but aren't as comfortable. Someone below suggested awnings - I'd agree although maybe it doesn't get that hot there?

How many people can sleep in the horse box? You have seating areas for four people in some areas but four couldn't possibly fit in there.

@@kmarch6630 Well Pete is right officially but we have now had 3 couples who have brought their children who have slept on a mattress on the floor, they said this worked really well for them.
Long term we would like a cabin on the end of the barn so members of the same group can sleep in there. 👍🏼

Unfortunately you would need to have a car, kidnap a friend or relative.. although I’m sure they’d come willingly after seeing this video 🙏🏼🤞🏼, we have a brother and sister that come stay with us and one of them sleeps on a single mattress (provided by us) on the floor of the Horsebox, it works well.
