I don’t expect blowout discounts on base Laredo models, dealers have more room to bargain on pricer trim. I do have a question, please. I noticed GC models with a spare in the interior well, and another with the spare mounted underneath the vehicle, with the lowering mechanism in the well. If you recall, did you happen to notice any difference on the base and the “L” version for the tire mounting. I haven’t had a chance to visit a dealer on these. I just bought my wife a 24 jeep grand cherokee Laredo Altitude. 18 inch black wheels and a dark gray with a black trim on the bottom. Doesn't have Fog lamps but she wanted to down size from her 21 L she had. The grand cherokee L was a tank in the winter. Drove thru 2 feet of snow. In snow mode. The new 24 doesn't have Snow mode. But sits higher then her 21 L did.
It’s always impressed me how well a stock Grand Cherokee can handle winter weather. It really gives you the confidence you want and need to drive so that you don’t stress as much.
It would be sweet if Jeep offered the 18” black wheels on the Limited. The only reason I’m getting the Limited is because it’s the first trim level that offers the Alpine stereo system as an option. After you’re in a Limited and try to add the Lux Tech Group which has a lots of good features Jeep requires the $2,500 Dual Pane Sunroof be added. Make it make sense! I don’t want a sunroof but I would like other things, Jeep don’t care just pay ‘em.
I have a 17 Limited and have been thinking of upgrading to a 24. I look for luxury vehicle that is higher and can handle well in deep snow and I love that the Grand Cherokees give you that. I am never stuck during bad storms
@@BaBaBooeyWRLDAgreed. Imo, the 18’s look and fit better on the new Cherokees. My new purchase was an Altitude (not L). Coming from a Tundra V8, making 12mpg, I am really impressed with this V6 averaging 22mpg. It did come with a tow package, but I had to get U-haul to add a hitch, which would have been nice that it were included stock. I have a Baltic grey 2023 summit reserve with the high altitude package on it and it’s freakin nice. It also has a rare 5.7 hemi in it 😂. Someone went online and put everything in it plus the hemi and changed their minds when it came. So I took it 😂. The 2023/2024 the only way for the hemi is online ordering. 2025 and on no more hemi at all even online. Hopefully they put the hurricane in future models then I might get it again. If not bye.
The Hurricane will be in them, mark my words. I’d be very surprised if it wasn’t, and it’ll need it to keep up with in class towing and power figures from the competition.
bought my wife a 23 Jeep GC Altitude in Oct of 22. 32K miles with two recalls paid for by Stellantis and 3 free oil changes. So far, zero out of pocket costs. Our Jeep GC Altitude came with 20 inch black wheels/tire package, why did they go to 18 inch wheels for the 24 model year?
Just bought a 24 Laredo, main complaint is the cheapened up the tow pkg. my 17 had full-size spare with matching wheel, now temp spare with steel rim! Eliminated 3 storage pockets in rear areas. Otherwise pretty nice vehicle. Also finger prints on touch screen are annoying,
I love the Grand Cherokee and wouldn’t need the L because it’s only me and the more seats you have, the more people invite themselves into my ride. 😅 I made a HUGE mistake selling my 2020 Grand Cherokee when the market was great for selling. I had the Altitude package with the blackout. It was that lovely StingGray color and I named her Stormy. I replaced my GC with a Ford Bronco Sport and I’ll say that I’ve had it for 2 years and I’m going back to a GC next year. The two don’t compare. I feel like I’m driving a tin can, so it has to go. Nothing compares to a V6 (Bronco Sport is a 1.5L). Great review!! I’m soaking it all in.
Jeep used to offer a lot of things as standard on the Limited trim model. They have tossed that to the wayside in favor of greed. The rearview mirror, for example, on the WK2 Limited had homelink, auto dim, etc. The mirror that comes on the Limited for the WL model is now a 20-year old manual dim. That's it. Oh, you want the auto dim with digital rearview and homelink? Now you have to ADD the Tech II package to get that. Absolute bullshit. Same with the 2-speed transfer case option ... it came standard on the WK2 Limited, now the WL Limited is just AWD with the traction settings. These are just a few of the things ... they changed the front fascia/grill between the Laredo/Limited and the Overland/Summit. So if you WANT to install the tow hooks, for example, you would have to change the entire lower bumper cover and grill, etc. That is bullshit engineering.
@@rarelibra I agree that the amount of packages offered and the amount of features that are package locked is absurd. Jeep isn’t the only offender and manufacturers need to go the route of offering more as standard and the higher trims should truly have more and be exceptional
@@MOHAWKAUTO this all happened after Covid ... the 2021 model was the last WK2, and the WL came out in 2022 with all of these weird package options. And you can't install an aftermarket autodim mirror with homelink because even if you know how to tap the map light to power it, you need the dealer to flash the ECU to use it. Here's another thing I noticed on my new WL ... I needed a tow package (instead of installing the OEM tow package like I did on my WK2) ... luckily I bought one with it ... I've heard some who thought the "tow prep" package was a tow package ... yeah, they should probably read (and actually LOOK at it like I did before buying) ... on the Overland models, there is a "tow eye" in the back that screws onto a thread hidden by the lower left "square" on the bumper. Does my Limited, which has a tow package, have that? NO. Why? Their logic is that you would use the hitch area instead. Just weird.
@@MOHAWKAUTO and speaking of tow packages and such ... when I did install the OEM tow package on my WK2, it came prewired. VERY easy to do. Now, on the WL? Nope. You will have to buy a harness, install it, and then flash the ECU to use it. We had to do this on a friend's 2021 Cherokee Trailhawk... we had to run a harness, etc. Cherokee is not the luxury model like the Grand Cherokee ... just wondering why they are doing this, because it cheapens the Grand Cherokee name.
At a quick glance, you can tell it’s the Summit Reserve and not the Summit because the former all have the “honeycomb” styled rims and are a little shiner. Don’t know why they moved the wiper stalk to the right side: as I jump from my WK to my WL , when it’s begins raining, I have to look, as opposed to muscle memory. Nice review for someone not overly familiar with the new body style.
The older Grand Cherokee models were pretty tight in the rear especially in the footwells. Sitting behind a taller person meant your feet got caught under their seats. That would be my concern if I bought a 2022-2025 Grand Cherokee.
the new wl grand c is a mixed bag for me. i do like the exterior design. i guess the cargo area is improved also with that . i also like the power lift gate and parking brake but thats about as far as it goes. the power train is smooth and quiet thanks to zf tranny but its under powered and outdated. you can get a two tone interior in the limited but the all black interiors in the laredo and altitude are abysmal. the piano black trim in the center stack is horrible. the rotary dial taking up space in the center is the worst in the industry. it is a comfortable, quiet, easy to drive, and somewhat affordable midsize suv in the lower trims. it is also cheaply made with some quality and reliability issues. i refuse to buy another car with a black interior bc im old and they are just to hard see anything. i wish i could put the old interior with a lighter color in the new body style about sums it up. maybe jeep will redesign some things, offer a second interior color in the upcoming mcr, as ford had to do to with the explorer. im more drawn to the two rows but i still wouldnt buy one. its really hard to find an affordable used or new suv without a black interior these days.
Awesome review!! I’ve learned that the new WL platform used for the Jeep Grand Cherokee is now based off the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. The Dodge Durango still uses the WK2 platform. I believe they may soon retire the proven Pentastar V-6 and use the Hurricane I-6 which I heard is suppose to be a very stout engine especially the High Output twin turbo. 💯🔥🤘🏽
I think they’re still going to offer a few engines with the hurricane being the higher end option. Although, they could offer just that engine in the standard and High Output option like they have in the past with the 4.7 V8 in the WJ platform.
@@MOHAWKAUTO I agree. I’ve noticed that Jeep began that approach with the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. Sadly, they already phased out the 6.4 liter V-8 also used in the Grand Cherokee SRT.
I wouldn’t say it’s based on the Stelvio but they probably borrowed some design elements. Or integrated some supplier parts that met a design spec. Although that’s not a bad thing, the Stelvio has some excellent chassis and suspension.
Why did Jeep go away from the 5.7 Hemi? Frankly this isn't that big of a features upgrade from my 2011 JGC Overland 4x4 especially considering it's price point.
I would argue that there have been a lot of upgrades since 2011. There was probably a few reasons they went away from the Hemi. The new engine is the Hurricane Turbo inline 6 that I think we should start seeing in the near future.
Sadly, moronic CAFE standards and ridiculous regulations forced the Hemi out of the picture. Good luck getting the I6 Hurricane in a GC. Jeep will probably try slapping an asthmatic turbo charged 4cyl in all of them. Whats also “impressive” is the wireless charging pad comes standard on the Altitude models but for the Limited and beyond it does not. Makes zero sense
@@MOHAWKAUTO that changed in late July, the Hemi is no longer available in the L any longer. I tried to order one and the system would not let it go through. Now the on-line build does not even show the option. I am very disappointed since my last 5 GC have been Hemi. I hope I am happy with the Pentastar.
Wow, you don't have a clue of what trim levels look like. Being an L has nothing to do with the front grill, one is a Limited and the other is an Overland that you were calling a ''regular''?? Btw. that Summit and the Overland have a variable assist air suspension so that Summit rides way better than the Limited regardless of the larger wheels. Do your homework next time.
Larger wheels will always ride worse than smaller wheels as the tires act as part of the suspension. More tire wall allows bumps to be absorbed better. I look forward to your review video. Let me know when you’re going to drop it and I’ll be the first to watch it.
There’s a good amount of vehicles you can fit in. Midsize and larger SUVs and trucks tend to allow for taller people to fit well. However there are cars you should be able to fit in well, but rear occupants may not have much room behind you.

They are leaving the V8 and V6 and going with a turbocharged 4 cylinder in 2025 as well as the inline 6
Summit also sits lower because of the air suspension
That makes sense
I'd buy one unfortunately they neutered the engine choices. No sport models or V-8's mehh
The Grand Cherokee L offers V8 options, but the 2 row version does not
@@MOHAWKAUTO that changed in late July, the Hemi is no longer available in the L any longer. I tried to order one and the system would not let it go through. Now the on-line build does not even show the option. I am very disappointed since my last 5 GC have been Hemi. I hope I am happy with the Pentastar.
I will go for 5.7L do need 3rd. Seat yet 4wd drive tow a 3.6 L will eat gas@@MOHAWKAUTO
"Their going to part it out agian for no reason because they dont want him having it" No.
That jeep in queens belongs to me.
If you plug it is the same thing as buying gas.
We do our best when editing to not cut out too much and to have the video make sense, sometimes we cut too much and mistakes happen. I appreciate the feedback and I’m glad to hear from an expert. I look forward to your review video. Let me know when you’re going to drop it and I’ll be the first to watch it.
@@MOHAWKAUTO to far...
The wireless charger is terrible, I have left the Overland without my phone to too many times.
I’m 6’5 I feel like there’s no car for me man
There’s a good amount of vehicles you can fit in. Midsize and larger SUVs and trucks tend to allow for taller people to fit well. However there are cars you should be able to fit in well, but rear occupants may not have much room behind you.
the 3.6 Pentastar is grossly underpowered, and has been for years. It is a reliable engine, but don't kid yourself on "improvements".
dang get past the wheels
For 68K forget about it.
I paid $48k out the door for a loaded 2024 JGC Limited 2 row. Sun/moon roof, electric steering wheel, heated/cooled seats, UConnect, Driver 1&2 memory presets, park-sense, surround cameras, digital rear view mirror, passive entry, 9 speaker & subwoofer sys, and much more.
@@Hermit58 I am on my 4th jeep I love them. The one I have now has 130K miles and I want another one so I am so glad to hear that it is still reasonable. Will check out number 5. Thanks so much for posting. How do you like it?
@@dab7963 So far, we love it! I put Weathertech rear cargo and mudflaps, nice roof rack crossbars, and of course a Grateful Dead badge 😉
Good luck getting these junker serviced or getting parts in a year or two when they're out of business
new recalls almost every month. ridiculous.
Has an american flag but its a european brand owned by Stellantis 😂😂...
12:38: You got it to START? Jeep's reliability is sub-par.
Materials feels
cheap when you compare to other car brands.
I think it depends on which car brands you compare to. However, I don’t think it feels cheap compared to many other brands in its class.
@@MOHAWKAUTO I owned a Caddy ( they could never repair my brakes ) and a Jag with kid leather/ real wood/ harman kardon etc..real sport not the Ford.. and I totally love my 2024 Jeep GC Limited L 4x4. Had a 2020 Jeep C Limited 4x4 zero problems and just turned it in for the new one. Memorial Day sales were great and so was the dealership throwing in all sorts of perks. Omitted the sunroof b/c I never used it on the Caddy. We are retired so mileage doesn't matter. No interest in ev's. Guess we are too old and do not like being forced. Great review...enjoyable.

It’s a shame.. I really do like the look of this Cherokee but I just can’t bring myself to pay for a Stellantis product. Terrible quality and reliability
Where are all these people getting their electricity for free? Reviews always act like driving on electric is somehow free.

Very nice car, the engines are junk
No V8 engines in any model. No air suspension on any models!
Air suspension is on the overland, summit, and summit reserve.
@@mprieto57 I looked for the option to get air suspension on any of the models you mentioned and it was not available when trying to build a new Grand Cherokee.
@@GarySmythe the L has v8 options !
@@EstaDePiPi Not anymore.
