Hi. First of all well done. That’s damn near complete minus the variants etc. hats off to you fella for that, the discipline and dedication required collecting this run is quite immense. There’s another guy who did a similar video and he has every slight variant (crazy) you can imagine. It’s great what you’ve done but you’re missing a few from what you showed plus then there’s the chunks you skipped over and didn’t show us. Also a nice facsimile cover. Regarding Alan Scott, I actually don’t believe the issue folk have with it is homophobia, rather continuity. He was straight from day 1 etc. his creator was Martin Nodell not Neal Addams or any other person with a progressive outlook. I loved Terry Berg, great gay character but Alan is not. Also the book did social issues with addams et al from 76 to 89 but after the initial spike it died a death hence they moved it to a back up in other books, when they revived it with 90 it was more generic superhero stuff. It’s not a progressive book it lasted for just over a year. Other than that this was a great video. Well done on this achievement, you’ve got about the second or third best collection GL collection on here so far, that’s no small achievement.
This is a proper comic book collection by a proper collector. No slabs, proper reading copies, and a full run to go through. This is the way to do it: complete and there to be read. Speculators who just buy the 'key' issues and slab them are spoiling it for those of us who want to read a full run of the original paper copies. Loved the video!
Thanks Stephen. I appreciate that. I have nothing against slabbers, whatever they do with their own property is down to them. But you're right when you say that speculators hurt the industry and ruin it for other collectors. Regardless, thank you for watching the video and for your compliments. I appreciate it.
Thank you Cam. Maybe one day I'll go through some of my other boxes, but nothing else is half as impressive. Though I am working on a complete Justice League collection now.
Two things: 1) Salaak first appears in GL 149, long before Kilowog and 2) Alan Scott's and Hal first met in Justice League of America 21. This is a BEAUTIFUL collection you have, and it was a pleasure to watch this.
FINALLY!! Someone else has my sickness, lol. this collection is stellar. The fact that you have the Flash run and Action Comics run says it all. Oh, and Corps 201 is Kilowogs FA, but Salaak came in Green Lantern 149. But yeah, fucking amazing collection. bravo
@@mariocovone498 oh it wont be soon lol. I just about paid off my showcase 22 (.5 signed by Joe giella) and the the girlfriend wants to save for a house. So its gonna be a long minute lol
@@mariocovone498 oh I know. Been a fan of GL ever since I was a kid. Gf fully supports my collection and I'm even allowed my own comic room in our future house lol
Awesome collection, i hope one day I will have the same! GL it's my favorite! But just one thing, you missed the crossover green lantern and the planet of apes, i have that run 😁👍
There's a few that I do have, but I haven't pulled yet. GL/Planet of the Apes, GL/Star Trek 1&2, Blackest Night, Brightest Day, Earth 1 etc... I promise, I do have them, but I wanted to focus mainly on the main series. Thank you for watching. Keep collecting!!!!
@@mariocovone498 yes i understand, i was just saying because maybe you didn't know anything about that series 😁 again great collection, i started 2 years ago, but I'm far away from you 😂 I hope one day I will complete everything like you, thanks !
For me personally, I purchased the most expensive issues first, so that as I went on, the collection got cheaper and cheaper. It's difficult to give advice on buying Silver Age, because it's incredibly difficult to find people selling bulk collections or cheap issues. You have to be quite lucky.
My grail is Green lantern #6 and showcase 24because I can’t even afford any other showcase but can’t find any way to buy it that matches it’s value on price guides anyway amazing collection completely forgot about anything after Geoff johns😂.

Loved seeing this, definitely the best Green Lantern collection I’ve seen from a normal everyday collector. Let’s see those other boxes!

Incredible collection ...
Awesome collection! 👏
Thank you! Much appreciated!!!
That’s awesome. Love the Green Lantern!
Thank you Tom. I appreciate you watching the video.
Great collection of books and respect for the time and work that went into this.
Thank you for the kind words!!!
Incredible collection!! Thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching and for the kind words.
Just watched you on The Chase. Congratulations!
@@olliejamescave2882 Thank you buddy!! Much appreciated!!! 😊
Really enjoyed watching this video! I loved all of your brief moments of explaining dc history/green lantern!
Thank you so much for your kind words, and for watching the video. I really appreciate it.
I got a Sinestro long Box.
Do you think i should put the
Year of the Villian
Legion of Doom issues in there?
That's so awesome! I hope to do the same thing one day. I'm trying to do that with Superman too.
Superman is on my list too, but those early issues are too expensive for me. Justice League is next on my list.

@@mariocovone498 same, had to calm down a bit last year due to... Well life. But I should be back at it soon enough

There's a very good chance!!! 🤣
Do you have any tips to start collecting these silver age keys? Especially on where to find them and what to look for.

You can do it! Save those pennies and you can get there!!!
Ron Marz and Darryl Banks did an amazing run of the Green Lantern series with Kyle Rayner as the Green Lantern.
I couldn't agree with you more. It was an awesome run!!
This is awesome! Is GL your favorite superhero?
Yes indeed. I'm a huge JLA fan, and GL (specifically Hal Jordan) is my absolute favourite.
@@mariocovone498 nice my is Flash Barry specifically
@@redkalel Yeah!!! Barry is the man! I love whenever Barry and Hal team up!!!
@@mariocovone498 me too!
Why do you keep calling it "green lantern core"? Its CORPS!
That's how the word Corps is properly pronounced.
Hal jordan is the best
