Biggest issue I have seen with cheap zip ties is no UV / heat protection. Cheaper ones quickly become brittle when exposed to sunlight or any heat. Need to get UV resistant ones unless its something you don't care about long term issues.
Your advice about checking the same and other websites for identical products much cheaper is spot on. Often there are "brand names" on websites which are exactly the same as generic items on sites like this for a fraction of the price. Even small items I'll often find for like $5 instead of $10 or so elsewhere. @@JonStein-mu5ebI've come too far. The cheapo trucks don't give me as much of a thrill anymore. Me and my son both have custom built rock crawlers, bashers, drifters, no prep drag cars. But considering I can't even buy one of my brushless setups for the price of the whole truck......so it might be good enough to get someone into the hobby. With nothing but respect towards @The Questionable Garage, I think the best, most accurate experience Jared had was with the Emoji face sign. I can confidently make the following predictions: • If the Emoji sign continues to operate BEYOND the initial unboxing, it will not continue to operate in the correct matter; it will almost-certainly come detached from the window every time you hit a bump (and probably never come back On); it will refuse to come On when you want it to; it will not display the pattern you select on the remote; and/or it will come On when you DON’T want it to (when there’s a police officer behind you). • the tire-repair tools (specifically the hole-reamer and the plug-setter) will break the first time you try to use them, with the cheap plastic T-handles shattering (especially likely in colder air), and the cheap metal shaft impaling the palm of your hand (AMHIK). • the Tire Inflator will be unable to inflate anything larger than a 26” bicycle tube, but will continue to try to reach the preset pressure until it overheats and trips its “overload protection” - which is in reality, just the tiny 64-gauge Jhinese capillary wires becoming the “fuses” they were always destined to be - and the inflator will then become a handy rechargeable PAPERWEIGHT. I will confess, I do own one of the compact units (the size of a 17-oz water bottle) and keep it in one of the bags on my bike; it might one day be useful in getting my bike to a safer repair location, but it has not a snowball’s chance in hell of fully-inflating any of the normal-size, 14-/15-/16-/17-inch Automobile or Light-Truck tires on my vehicles. • the Mini-Vacs will reliably suck… but not in a vacuum-y manner. Either the battery in the rechargeable unit will soon stop taking a charge, or the motor will overheat in the same manner as the Inflator. The corded unit may have a fair chance of continuing to run for awhile, but with the jheap Jhinese engineering (lack of proper bearings, insufficient wire-gauge, and inferior plastics), the motor will quickly deteriorate, causing it to become more of a noise-and-heat generator, than a vacuum. Hey, I’m not saying anything most of us don’t already know. All I’m saying is, Keep your expectations reasonable, and you’re less likely to be disappointed by Jhinese Jhunk! #TheMoreYouKnow
Nothing wrong with doing a sponsor episode, was actually quite entertaining. Next time maybe add what the return experience is like with the products that didn't work (emoticon piece). Thanks for all you do.
A coworker bought one of the tiny vacuums, it works great for cleaning out laptop heatsinks and fans. I personally don't trust temu though, too much high budget advertising, and when the product is cheap/free, you are the product.

With regards to what I keep in the car for emergency, I've got my "Oh sh*t bag". It's got basic tools (including a foot long piece of 1.5" diameter stainless steel bar stock that can be use as a hammer, or pry bar), a can of tyre sealant, hose clamps, a few lengths of 12 gauge multicore wire with some "Choc block" type screw terminal connectors, a couple yards of stripped thick single core wire (for emergency exhaust hangers, or just tying stuff together), 12v inspection light, tow rope, medium sized cable ties for securing stuff to other stuff, huge cable ties to use as ghetto snow chains if I get stuck, a collapsible 2 gallon camping water jug, and a lot of other random small stuff that I've no doubt forgot about. It's just a collection of things that have either been (Or would have been) useful when I've broke down in the past. Back in my youth I had to "MacGyver" whatever cheep and cheerful piece of junk car I owned at the time just so it could get me home. Before we had mobile phones and 24/7 breakdown recovery we had something called "Self reliance", and it's a mindset that's hard to grow out of. :D
I'm happy to say I have a bunch of these things in my car and they do make life easy. That $4 vacuum-cleaner was known junk. I was looking into battery-operated air-compressor but found not much powerful ones. And the good ones had average reviews. So sticking with my existing 12v wired one. And that one has helped a dozen times.
I bought an ATOTO for my Durango. Great buy for the features. 2 cons are that I am having trouble getting the backup camera working, amp isn't being turned on by the unit, and you can ONLY use their dashcam.
Jared, I really needed to see how you got the Bose amp working! I swapped the head unit out on my 04 avalanche Z71 with the same exact Bose system, and my speakers are 100% non functioning, they worked perfect before as all that it had ever played was AM radio at a low volume (it was my grandpas truck). Head unit screen works and it connects to my phone but no audio whatsoever
I like that you got a lot od general staple items. The only thing I wish you had added was a battery or 12v soldering iron and a multimeter. Another one to grab as a quick filler item are socket stickers. I picked up glow in the dark ones than are insanely easy to read. The best $2 item out there.

I got the little pistol grip vac at my local Walmart ($20 I believe) just to vacuum up the 2 year old's cookie crumbs. Didn't have high hopes for it but it's been great so far and the charge is lasting longer than I though it would. With the "crevice" tool installed it might be able to suck up the dog hairs but I'd bet the little filter would clog quickly. PS: That lowered Escalade just looks so right.
Not a fan of the automotive TH-camrs making temu adds for cheap Chinese products or long video adds in general. What you are not testing is the longevity of some of the products, also I bought a cheap tire repair kit and driving bar pulled right out of the handle and it was metal.
@TheQuestionableGarage, if you are going to advertise for them, at least bring us stuff that we might need. I would love to see an honest hands-on review of their 258.00 hydraulic brake line tool or other expensive low use items that would be nice to find from a cheaper importer. Keep up the good work loving the content.

A bike rack, preferrably at least a double. Gives you practice on cargo securing, and add the capacity to carry a ladder or other thing, Oversecure is better than falloff.
Great show Jared but I think folks relate more to domestic supply lines like Amazon, Walmart, Costco and Harbor Freight for the quicker delivery and a whole lot less return issues. The concept is great, budget automotive finds given a professional's thumbs up could be a way to help folks save money by buying smarter.
To all the haters, 90% of the amazon stuff comes from the same factory 😂😂. Jared this answers alot of questions, will hit my wife TEMU account this week.

I used to work in a detail shop and the Detailers would use a microfiber cloth when doing the final polish when buffing and waxing. I also pissed off a Service Advisor for calling a Cadillac a Cadaverlac. It might have had something to do with the car being owned by a local mortuary. It looks like you should modify the rear hatch to open farther so that you don't hit your head on it.

The head unit you got has a way easier way then using the pac unit and can allow for more integration into the can buss systems. It's a special adapter that works like the pac unit but dose way more. It's also a good idea to search (android head unit) followed by (car year and model) those kits come with everything you will need.

jared i understand that you have to take sponsors and im not faulting you for that, but temu is a bad company and is being investigated for holding peoples card information and charging them after purchases. thats also not even including that the quality of the items they sell are not good ever. you are putting your name and face to this ad, YOU are selling us this company, even if you said in this video none of this was worth buying, you still are advertising and promoting temu and giving out a code for free money, people are going to use your code no matter what.

Certainly not one of my favorite videos, but I have used TEMU several times, and everyone one collects information on you. So far I am rather pleased with everything I have gotten from them.
I bought a $100 head unit, it worked OK. However the display was not bright enough. I ended up buying a $400 unit just for the brighter display. It depends on you particular car, whether the dash is positioned out of the sun enough to see the display.
I did buy that same car it worked great for a few days till a small jump and it broke all the suspension now it is a bunch of parts that I may try to swap into better made cars. For a few dollars more there are better made Chinese rc cars on Amazon. That do have parts you can replace when you take a 15 ft jump and land on your rc’a nose.
simple Metric conversion, 1" equals 25.4mm, so a half inch socket is between a 12 and a 13 mm socket, I work in CADD and lots of the CAD blocks are in Metric so i've had to memorize that conversion factor.
Surprised someone working on cars isn't at least semi competent in Metric, cars these days all are almost completely metric fasteners. and we all know things like 3/4 and 19mm are basically the same size.
@@mini4x it's a math thing, lots of people aren't good at doing math in their head so they get frustrated and just don't bother after a while and just complain about it, me personally I would be fine if cars where 100% Metric, I think it makes more sense, in fact in general Imperial/SAE Fasteners just shouldn't exist in the modern world, if we want to measure in feet and inches for building stuff I'm fine with that but fasteners just need 1 standard and it's also time to get rid of the Flat Head and Philips Head Screws, there are so many better options to choose from these days.

Same for the zip ties. I don't know how long they will last but man you can never have too many of them. I also picked up the pull and cut tool for $3 and that thing has saved me from so many cuts and scrapes. Those tails are like razor blades.
That RC car would be fun in the parking lot at work. Cheap fun
Have you seen Trailmater? They do rock crawling with their rc trucks.
@@JonStein-mu5ebI've come too far. The cheapo trucks don't give me as much of a thrill anymore.
Me and my son both have custom built rock crawlers, bashers, drifters, no prep drag cars. All with custom painted bodies, and aftermarket overpowered electronics (drag car does 0-70 in about 2 seconds)
Probably spent more than I should have between all of them. But considering I can't even buy one of my brushless setups for the price of the whole truck......so it might be good enough to get someone into the hobby.
If your into the crawlers, the new redcat 1/18 crawlers are on par with the best for about 100$.
"Just wait `til you hear about an 8-track. That'll really throw you for a loop."
What you did there. I sees it.
i bought a s/duty, 2000. im in aus. the trucks are built in brazil under lic. from germany & u.s.. the motor is german & g/box. 4.2mwm turbo diesel. 700nm.. ZF 5 sp.. sold world wide except for u.s.. the point is.. its a basic truck, WITH A CASSETTE player.. no glove box, no tilt, vinyl. basic. but a damn good truck. bought a 7'' h/ unit 5 yrs ago, still in box.. only listen to radio..but a gps would be nice..
Feel free to be a hater on these things. I felt like you were being nicer than you really wanted to be.
Please don't fall into the content creator habit of making 34 minute sponsor ads. You're trading cash for subscribers as people are inevitably pushed away.
this whole vid feels like an ad, it hurts
@@wojciechgromek250 have you tried switching to high flow maxi pads?
so much this...
He has to pay Bill's so, no problem with it. I was interested in Temu and am glad to get an opinion
Meh, every now and again isn’t so bad…he did this with the harbour freight tools and some decent insight came from it…
I never heard so many half hearted recommendations! LOL
I wish Jared would've linked the CarPlay head unit in the description.
I know you gotta pay the bills, but this is not the way bro.
Thank you for this video! Im a beginner driver and car owner at age of 44, you helped me understand some products I been looking for to buy.
Bought an $80 add on 10” screen with real CarPlay and android auto on Temu. A little bit slow user experience, but overall blew away my expectations. And yes, I’m sure it is real wireless CarPlay and real wireless android auto, which I wasn’t really expecting…
I dont trust temu with any of my information people of company behind it have shady history
No different from any other online sales company.
With nothing but respect towards @The Questionable Garage, I think the best, most accurate experience Jared had was with the Emoji face sign.
I can confidently make the following predictions:
• If the Emoji sign continues to operate BEYOND the initial unboxing, it will not continue to operate in the correct matter; it will almost-certainly come detached from the window every time you hit a bump (and probably never come back On); it will refuse to come On when you want it to; it will not display the pattern you select on the remote; and/or it will come On when you DON’T want it to (when there’s a police officer behind you).
Noted!
A coworker bought one of the tiny vacuums, it works great for cleaning out laptop heatsinks and fans. I personally don't trust temu though, too much high budget advertising, and when the product is cheap/free, you are the product.
This is very untrue, i have ordered over 2000 dollars worth of stuff off of temu and almost everything has been amazing and worked as it should, keep buying ur jacked up brand prices while i buy what its rly worth and cost to make
With regards to what I keep in the car for emergency, I've got my "Oh sh*t bag".
Ive seen those plastic handle plug pushers hurt people get real solid metal ones. Far cheaper than having a hand rebuilt.
That is the rock-solid TRUTH (speaking from painful personal experience)!
Jared check the Atoto F7 Android based head unit with wireless AA and CP.
Also the Crutchfield Crux GMC2 will let you keep steering wheel controls and let you Bose work. 99 at Crutchfield.
Added the Atoto to my 2001 Chevy and it modernized the whole truck. Wireless android auto works great.
I bought an ATOTO for my Durango. Great buy for the features. 2 cons are that I am having trouble getting the backup camera working, amp isn't being turned on by the unit, and you can ONLY use their dashcam.
Taking a Temu sponsor is not a questionable choice, it's a terrible choice. Dump that Temu now. I find this very disappointing. :(
100% agree, they have a horrible reputation for people regularly ordering things and never showing up.
You still watched so mind your business 😅😅😅
Nope turned it off. And you can't possibly approve of temu
Beyond disappointing.
@paulkaminski1434 why can't I
I agree...... There is times you need something thats stiffer 😅
Man, please don't take money from trashy Chinese e-commerce companies. I'm sure you can find better!

dont become one of those, we already know Temu is miss or fail at best, this isnt really main channel content
Im good jared im gonna stick with my lifetime replacement tools from harbor freight and small compact tool boxes from autozone but thanks for showing me not to order from temu LMAOOOOO
Hi. when you open a bag of cable ties just tear a small hole in the middle of the bag. You can hook the cable tie out with your finger but the ties wont fall out all over the floor/bottom of tool box etc
Trying to make the best out of crappy Temu products is hilarious. If you pause it at the right moment near the end you can really see the suffering in his eyes. 😂😂😂
Jared's the best. 👍
This is very untrue, i have ordered over 2000 dollars worth of stuff off of temu and almost everything has been amazing and worked as it should, keep buying ur jacked up brand prices while i buy what its rly worth and cost to make
I got the little pistol grip vac at my local Walmart ($20 I believe) just to vacuum up the 2 year old's cookie crumbs. Didn't have high hopes for it but it's been great so far and the charge is lasting longer than I though it would. With the "crevice" tool installed it might be able to suck up the dog hairs but I'd bet the little filter would clog quickly.
PS: That lowered Escalade just looks so right.
The windshield clearner thing with a pointer end is the one to get but it costs a little more.
Not a fan of the automotive TH-camrs making temu adds for cheap Chinese products or long video adds in general. What you are not testing is the longevity of some of the products, also I bought a cheap tire repair kit and driving bar pulled right out of the handle and it was metal.
yup, seen that.. longevity, watch , project farm..
@TheQuestionableGarage, if you are going to advertise for them, at least bring us stuff that we might need. I would love to see an honest hands-on review of their 258.00 hydraulic brake line tool or other expensive low use items that would be nice to find from a cheaper importer.
Keep up the good work loving the content.
i wish my head unit had a knob..hard to adjust volume without
I have that RC & the Max that battery last about 30 mins and got upgraded battery and it really flies. Flipped it gundreds of times and its still rolling good.
Hi Jared nice video 📹 and workmanship and nice supplys
To get counterfeit stuff, you used to have to know someone who would sell you the stuff out of his trunk in a deserted back alley.
Now there’s an app for that and they ship the crap to you.
This is very untrue, i have ordered over 2000 dollars worth of stuff off of temu and almost everything has been amazing and worked as it should, keep buying ur jacked up brand prices while i buy what its rly worth and cost to make
A bike rack, preferrably at least a double. Gives you practice on cargo securing, and add the capacity to carry a ladder or other thing, Oversecure is better than falloff.
Learned over many decades you only need one essential album in your vehicle.
Black Sabbath - We Sold Our Soul for Rock 'N' Roll
TBF, when I was going to car clubs regularly (back in 07) there was always that group of people playing and racing RC cars,so practical buy.
I swear I got bigger microfiber cloths from Home Depot for about that price.
this seems to be a great and practical. Platform for video... love it
Great show Jared but I think folks relate more to domestic supply lines like Amazon, Walmart, Costco and Harbor Freight for the quicker delivery and a whole lot less return issues. The concept is great, budget automotive finds given a professional's thumbs up could be a way to help folks save money by buying smarter.
To all the haters, 90% of the amazon stuff comes from the same factory 😂😂. Jared this answers alot of questions, will hit my wife TEMU account this week.
Not just the Jungle Site, practically EVERYTHING is Jhinese Jhunk these days.
I suppose we can't blame the unscrupulous Jhinese, if the world foolishly prefers low price over high quality. 😤
Careful shopping and comparing will reward you.
At least they are active in American commerce the jungle site employs American and pays it's taxes and shipping fees ttmu is just sucking what little our country has left
You really shouldn't hit your wife...😮
I'm glad you're getting sponsor support! A guy needs to be able to put food on the table, after all. I'm not going to be watching this video since I've seen enough Temu sponsored content, but I'll be back for the next one.
Another 40(+) year old with an rc addiction here. I'm up to 13. I have mostly AE 1/10 buggies and stadium trucks and 1/8 ebuggy but also have a Slash, TLR 22 4.0 and a Tekno EB410. Believe it or not, stock Slash offroad on carpet is actually a lot of fun if the others racing are also good drivers. Passing is so hard because the diffs unload so easily.
Fun fact: Class D amps are *very* efficient and don't weigh much, so using weight to evaluate amps works works than it used to.
Ive bought plenty of things from Temu, if you know what youre expecting from your purchases, they have plenty of decent things
thank you sir.
you and pole barn are having fun.
China is watching YOU through its Products ,& a SPAM PHONECALL ON INSTALATION SAYS A LOT & ASKING YOU TO CUSTOMISE YOUR REGISTERATION 😂😂😂😂
Glad that you got to make some $$$ off of Temu. Results may vary. As Always, May God Bless you and yours! 😇
I want the car !!The the smiley face was cool. I saw it when I was there lol
Sorry I cant do the Temu thing, I know China probably already has my info but Im not about to give it to them myself plus my card number. I'll pay a few extra bucks from Amazon get it the next day and know I can send it back for free with no hassle every time. But hey maybe Im crazy...
I always enjoy your product review videos.
The head unit you got has a way easier way then using the pac unit and can allow for more integration into the can buss systems. It's a special adapter that works like the pac unit but dose way more. It's also a good idea to search (android head unit) followed by (car year and model) those kits come with everything you will need.
U just found this video but wanted to point out that the metric sizing can be changed to "US". I have gotten clothes, tools, accessories, etc and all have been correct. I just change that option.
I knew you hadda be an RC guy like myself as well as a full size car guy.
I agree with all the things you selected, however id rather spend the extra money and buy American made
American made does not exist.
This is very untrue, i have ordered over 2000 dollars worth of stuff off of temu and almost everything has been amazing and worked as it should, keep buying ur jacked up brand prices while i buy what its rly worth and cost to make
I see temu car stuff much like harbor freight or princess auto, some things can be just adequate and work fine.
Anything simple should be good enough, Anything that needs to be technical or precise is a 50/50 gamble.
I did a temu review on the work stands a few weeks ago
jared i understand that you have to take sponsors and im not faulting you for that, but temu is a bad company and is being investigated for holding peoples card information and charging them after purchases. thats also not even including that the quality of the items they sell are not good ever. you are putting your name and face to this ad, YOU are selling us this company, even if you said in this video none of this was worth buying, you still are advertising and promoting temu and giving out a code for free money, people are going to use your code no matter what.
This is very untrue, i have ordered over 2000 dollars worth of stuff off of temu and almost everything has been amazing and worked as it should, keep buying ur jacked up brand prices while i buy what its rly worth and cost to make
Certainly not one of my favorite videos, but I have used TEMU several times, and everyone one collects information on you. So far I am rather pleased with everything I have gotten from them.
nissan qashqai is now a maserati! :'D :'D
I bought a $100 head unit, it worked OK. However the display was not bright enough. I ended up buying a $400 unit just for the brighter display. It depends on you particular car, whether the dash is positioned out of the sun enough to see the display.
so did you get the stereo to work?
I have a bunch of RC cars and trucks, mainly Traxxas nitro trucks which are fun but the battery powered ones are so much easier to use
Dude… it’s a GMT800. You’re not gonna be on side of the road lol
I did buy that same car it worked great for a few days till a small jump and it broke all the suspension now it is a bunch of parts that I may try to swap into better made cars. For a few dollars more there are better made Chinese rc cars on Amazon. That do have parts you can replace when you take a 15 ft jump and land on your rc’a nose.
hey i'm 45 and i brought my first tamiya grass hopper last month
TIL - They still make the grasshopper, was my first 'real' RC car, probably bought in '83 or so..
simple Metric conversion, 1" equals 25.4mm, so a half inch socket is between a 12 and a 13 mm socket, I work in CADD and lots of the CAD blocks are in Metric so i've had to memorize that conversion factor.
To be fair, not a whole lot of vacuums can full pick up Pyrenees hairs though :)
I have a radio very similar to yours and my amp kicks on when its on radio but not when I use bluetooth, screen mirror or any of that. Do you have any ideas??? I want my damn amp to work!! lol
Next time, don't buy a head unit on Temu?
