    I said it before and I'll say it again, Bjorn Nyland is the best in the EV space. Lots of good information and the best ride-alongs. Thanks for this one.

    It only started snowing TODAY here in the north. Been a weird winter so far. Ariya seems like a really nice roadtrip car!

    Southern Romania used to have really harsh winters... all snow from november to march... as late as the 90s... now there is no snow almost the whole winter... just a little snow in january but it barely covers the ground... i dont buy snow boots or heavy coats anymore cause i dont need them... when i was a kid there were nights where when i went to sleep there was maybe a little rain outside and by the time i woke up there was snow so high you couldnt tell where the cars were... that never happens now... and in the next few years i am certain we will have the first winter where the temperature never dips below 0C... i tried asking other people in other parts of the world how their winters have changed but they dont seem to want to talk about it...

      Northern Italy, Venice. On lagoon, so more mild temperature. Every year snow and til march fresh temperatures. My parents told me they had 10 degrees few days ago.

      Same here in Florida USA. We used to have freezing weather sometimes in January, but we haven’t had that in over 10 years.

      Same situation here in SW Ontario, Canada....no doubt climate change is taking it's toll on the planet. Yet the human race continues on the path of ignoring the science. We would rather put our money into finding ways to more efficiently kill each rather putting the money into solving the climate change crisis.
      I worry more than ever for my grandkids...

      Same in southern Norway, although it varies a lot, the south most parts for some reason get tons of snow now during winter, but close to Oslo where I grew up, there's rarely snow that stays for more than a few days until January.
      When I grew up, in the early eighties, we kids built stable snow caves right outside the building we lived in, in the heaps of snow left by the snow plows.
      That's very rarely if ever possible now.

    As a child of the '80s I'm loving the synthwave BGM you have been using! Awesome comprehensive review of the Ariya, Nissan is showing their extensive EV experience with this one, it's a tough call between this and an Aptera for me, I have to reassess my priorities before coming to a decision.

    Thanks! A great video episode from almost real life driving. For my personally 2 dc charging sessions per day is enough which means I don’t habe to deal with the 90 kW wave. I never drive more than 600 km in one day and always have home charger available. So for me the Ariya seems to be the perfect family car!

    • @kakashi3543
      @kakashi3543 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually it is not. It is quite expensive and the design is somewhat bland. I said this because I am waiting this month for my Ariya to be delivered and I really consider to turn off the offer.

    • @fredrikh8070
      @fredrikh8070 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kakashi3543 well design is really in my opinion one of the greatest features of this car. I agree with you about the price, it’ too expensive now. I also put order when the situation was different. Now the pricesnand availabilitynof used EV:s has changed a lot.

    I love your videos man! I'm a us soldier in Korea right now so I haven't been able to see this car in person yet but based on videos it looks so amazing! Me and the wife had Nissan leafs before we left so I can't wait to get back and see it hands on and do a test drive., I'm headed to Alaska next so knowing it does good in snow and cold is even better haha.

    @12:07 Don't know if it's the Norwegian style of driving or adaptive cruise control at work (or a mixture of the two) but it's somehow really satisfying to watch those cars drive nicely and evenly spaced out -- like it's been choreographed.

    Bjørn, even if we would stop emitting CO2 altogether as humanity, the climate would keep warming for like 15 years. Because what we emit today, only goes into effect in this timeframe. Also, fewer emissions means more sunlight reaches the earth. That alone will give us more global warming after the energy transition.

    1:41 They are keen to power-down because of their fossil mindset (the engine won't start if the 12V battery drains down) and often use fossil-derived software in their EVs (hence why Audi E-tron sometimes says "Oil change due soon"!)

    • @MichaelEricMenk
      @MichaelEricMenk 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There are oil changes in a EV also, the diff and transmission (only one gear, but it still has oil).
      But that they have a ICE mindset is most likely true.

    90 KWs was stuff of dreams in a Nissan not long ago so I think we can give a little slack here, for most people this would be more than enough for everyday use and then some,
    very few trips would be long enough for it to be a problem if ever.

    Seeing your road trip as a passenger is great, but what about seeing it driver side with a camera placed at your right shoulder in the center of the cabin ? We could see your cluster and center screen while driving ! Would be awesome trip !

    Hi Bjorn
    Great show, every time. Not polished, not pretentious and just as it is, with all the side things (baby, wify, stomach, tired, the joking). Keep on trucking! Just a querie about that heated radar in the Ariya. Does it not have one or was it malfunctioning? Take care!

    You know Nissan are doing something right when you'd choose this over a Tesla.
    They just need to sort out their software/hardware glitches people are getting currently.
    Hardware issues seem to be the steering wheel needing replacing due to the touch sensor for cruise

    Changing to EV won't change the climate. Meat industries is where you want to start at and boat/ship vessels. Cars are like 2% of the problem.

    I don't know if I would describe that car as a "great family car". Maybe if you have max two children, that don't need big car seats or strollers anymore, but that fits in every car with 4 seats. A "great family car" should be able to comfortable carry 2-3 kids (with car seats), a stroller and maybe a dog 🙂

    • @fredrikh8070
      @fredrikh8070 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The rear seat is huge. Larger than V70 for example. The trunk is ok for stroller. But stroller abd a dog with three chikdren > get Id Buzz 😅

    • @pawefiett2468
      @pawefiett2468 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Comparing to my Ford S-Max - the rear bench seams to me narrower here, in my Ford I have 3 separate seats of equal size and I have no problem placing two big child seats besides each other.

    • @taschenonkel
      @taschenonkel 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fredrikh8070 id Buzz cannot hold 3 child seats unfortunately, the version they have out now is really crap for that purpose. Only a regular bench with 2 seats + isofix but far too narrow middle seat to be used for another seat. Until they release the long 6- or 7-seater version, it's a pass.
