Even though Oblivion was my first tes game I’ve never actually seen the main quest ending (never fully followed it lol). I’ve spent most of my time recreating characters, so I guess it’s nice to finally see it now, as brief as it was 😆
Same, I must of played 1000 hours of Oblivon and I never beat the game lol. Now I've beat it in under 4 minutes more times than I can count. It's funny just how different speedrunning vs casual play is.
@@Krolshi speedrunning in my opinion is best done recreationally, more like a hobby. I speedrun Fallout New Vegas because I’ve beaten it 30+ times and 100% it at least twice. And done several modded play throughs. Speedrunnning is the best way to play a game you truly love and have done everything in already, push it to its limits and apply all the skill you got playing it “normally” and more. Can I beat it at world record pace? No, at least not yet, I’ve never even submitted to the leaderboards, but I have fun learning and practicing the route. My personal best is just under an hour. Far from world record but definitely faster than my casual 40+ hour games lol.
me at the beginning of every RPG: spends about an hour creating a character waz: does it in less than one second surprised pikachu face btw it was pretty damn cool!
the first time i played this game it was the first elder scrolls bethesda game i played took me about a week to complete it and you do it in the time it took me to figure out the controls ahahhaha love you man
Yep, I've just started learning Morrowind. I doubt I'll want to grind for world record in it though, super optimized and menu heavy. But it'll be one step closer to Elder Scrolls Anthology speedruns. :o
I made a small mistake and had the camera moved a bit to the left before timing began. I got penalised half a second for it on the leaderboard so I decided to go again and get a better run. 0.7s improvement. :P
Curiosity question: I've never seen other people do this before, but why did you make a save of you sitting on the stool in the starting cell? I assume it provided some sort of benefit, but I have no clue myself what it could be.
Yep, I'm very interested in the Prey speedrun. It's a really cool 6 minute run without much RNG. I also want to learn every single Elder Scrolls game and do Elder Scrolls Anthology. Donkey Kong Country 2 and Ocarina of Time and are also quite high up my list.
Wait... how. You save and quit right outside the Temple of the One, load back in, and there's a weird door half-buried in the ground leading into/out of(?) the temple that triggers the final sequence. How?
I'm getting into speedrunning skyrim and I can do it in around 42 minutes, I just don't get how u do everything you do, I can't do the Helgan thing u do so I guess that's holding me back, I know I'm kind of commenting on the wrong video but do you have any tips on how I can do better
You can go to temple in Imperial City in the end of the game, but if you glitch through it, you can enter it from another side. Then you wait for Martin, speaks with him, the end triggers. Like so.
Small PB. The other run I had the camera in the wrong place for the starting save and got penalised half a second on the leaderboard so I decided to improve it.
Speedruns have different categories, each of them as viable as the last. Also this isn't cheating, it's exploiting glitches, which often takes more skill than it does to actually beat the game.
I'm still new to the speedrunning community so my terminology might be a bit off. If so, please feel free to correct me. This is an any% speedrun, which includes any bugs and glitches found within the game. From what I understand, it means no console commands, mods, or any other form of help that doesn't exist within the game. Every glitch you see here is perfectly fine because they are glitches found within the base game. There are also glitchless runs, which may be what you're confusing this with/looking for. It may not seem like it takes skill, but it takes a lot of time to find these glitches, whether it's digging through the code, testing glitches, or just stumbling upon a glitch in a normal playthrough and trying to recreate it. Also mastering these and getting the perfect time takes a lot of skill too, such as frame perfect inputs. That, along with the patience to go through countless retries of the same moves just to shave seconds off of your time. I definitely don't envy speedrunners, it takes a lot of patience and skill.

Necromancy is not banned in Cyrodil though. It's just prohibited in the Mage's Guild, but elsewhere, while frowned upon, it's completely legal

look guys I found the redditor
I don't even care TOO much about character creation, and I still spent more time than this on it.
It's crazy to think that 2:30 of a speedrun taking 3 minutes total is just the tutorial level.
damn what a nice first playthrough
We need a Oblivion remastered
Just play Skyblivion when it comes out.

I remember doing this on xbox360 but with the paint brush glitch to the top of the temple ,and when you drop through the roof that door is there 🤣
Look, I hate to be that guy, but first. Also WOOHOO NEW SPEEDRUN!
It takes me longer to wake up and he already beat oblivion
Not even 20 seconds in and I am already in WTF mode lmao

Not "The oblivion crisis", but "The Oblivion minutes".
Love how the majority of it is in the tutorial
4:20 *tea bag intensifies* also very cool speedrun
3:50 "WAIT FASTER, DAMNIT!"
Oof, that Glenroy block at 2:07... Is that guaranteed or could you hypothetically shave off a second with him further to the left?
I have no idea what's going on. But I guess that's the fun in watching speedruns XD

That.... doesn't count. Since when does speed run mean cheat?
It's always meant that? Speedruns have always used cheats, glitches, and tricks
@@pewdzdude to my understanding it just meant beating the game in the shortest amount of time.... why cheat? That doesnt take skill
