That was such a lovely video. What a lovely family you are. I found it very emotional & had a big smile on my face. Good ole dad so deserved that from his lovely son.
Great E-bike Shaun. I'm so glad that you gifted it to your dad, he jokes about a tear in his eye, but I reckon he was genuinely touched by the gesture. Well done to you both mate.
How great that was. Such a thoughtful thing to do. A special memory for you and your lovely Dad. Love your videos and the consideration and respect you show others. I find your videos relaxing........just wish I had a camper van!
OMG how beautiful was that, your dad tear lol, he looks great on the new bike.....But....... who will be his first passenger on the back.....you never thought of that... maybe your little bub... yes I think so....hehe.. great work shaun.
Great to see you and your dad again - he's a star! I'm wondering if you have plans to visit the (world famous) Cornish bike factory in Falmouth ... OK, strictly speaking they manufacturer recumbent tricycles ... but that counts as a bike ... ICE (or inspired cycle engineering) make good quality trikes, though the cost is quite high as they are not mass manufactured. They are great fun to ride - the steering is direct so it almost feels like a gokart!
Can you show it going up a steep hill to show how much power it has or not because I’m disabled and unable to walk very far. I wouldn’t want to get caught on a hill. Im the best part of 20 stone so I need a bit of power. I’m thinking this could be used on holiday via airline as it’s light. In their website it says max 120kg in description but 150kg in specs. Could you tell them and find out the correct weight please. If this bike could carry my weight uphill it could be a life saver. Just wondered if it would be possible to try it out myself? Cheers Roy.
I does go up hills but you do have to put in a bit of effort depending on the size of the hill and how steep it is. The laws in the UK prevent you riding a bike with large motors on the road at least until they change the laws this year around the use of e-bikes.
Wow I’m not rich and certainly cannot afford one at the moment but was not expecting it to be that low of a price compared to other e bikes! Defo a bargain I’m sure they’ll go up at some point lol
The smaller bike of the 2 is 250w which at this time is road legal in the UK. The bigger hike is 350w. There are plans to change the law in 2024 for you to be able to ride up to a 500w while on public roads in the uk. But for now you’d need to ride the bike on private land. But with a bike this small most people wouldn’t be able to tell the motor size as it’s not written anywhere on the bike
It is 350w or 250w? only 250w is the legal limit without insurance and a helmet (ie.proper helmet, not a cycle helmet). "Any electric bike that does not meet the EAPC rules is classed as a motorcycle or moped and needs to be registered and taxed. You’ll need a driving licence to ride one and you must wear a crash helmet."
@@LoveSundays, hi Shaun, the government had a consultation on raising the power limit to 500w and / or returning allowing a throttle rather than require pedalling - this consultation ended in April (see www.gov.uk/government/consultations/smarter-regulation-proposed-changes-to-legislation-for-electrically-assisted-pedal-cycles). I'm not too sure the government will respond to this consultation any time soon, given last week's announcement ... The 'so called laws' are real laws with consequences - should you be investigated by the police. Although this might be unlikely, it is still an offence and can lead to prosecution for riding an unapproved, uninsured, untaxed motorcycle without a helmet - the most likely outcome would be points on you licence and a fine. Note that importers can be charged with selling motor vehicles that do not have type approval too ... not that trading standards has enough funding to do much enforcement nowadays! Note that land where the public has access to in a motor vehicle is now covered by the road traffic act, so use in a car park / holiday camp is considered use on a public road. I suspect you also need the land owners permission to use such vehicles on private land. Although it might seem a bit nanny state, these rules have been around for a while - I think the first law on e-bikes was in 1983 - this allowed up to 200w (bicycle, 250w for a tricycle) of assistance up to 15 mph and allowed a throttle. EU legislation later allowed up to 250w of assistance up to 15.5mph (25kph) but required the pedals to be used. In 2015 UK law changed to drop the 1983 option of having a throttle (and it's reference to a very old British Standard for measuring the power output of electric motors). Sorry to be a miserable (insomniac) party pooper - you have a great channel and provided inspiring, heart-warming videos that are well produced and fun, as well as your services to homeless charities / food banks, etc. I love and appreciate what you do, but do be careful promoting currently illegal activities!

Now that is an excellent use of a gifted product. Your Dad seems like a cool chap too.
You have a great dad that raised a great son. What a wonderful gesture to gift him the bike. I think you made his day.
You are a great guy. Dad must be proud and rightly so.
That was such a lovely video. What a lovely family you are. I found it very emotional & had a big smile on my face. Good ole dad so deserved that from his lovely son.
From Son, to father. Cannot wait to see the video where Charlie gives you a “flying bike” in just another short 40years.

What a sweetheart. 💜 Your parents raised you well. Cheers 🍻 👍🏽

My Dad had a T3 when I was a teenager, now I've got a T6 after my Dad has passed away. Enjoy these times buddy, I'm well jealous ❤

Oh you have a dad… must be nice.

Hey Shaun. Wow they look good mate, but I was waiting for the Batman helmet 😂😂
He was very disappointed I didn’t bring the Batman helmet 😂
@@LoveSundays we all was mate 😂😂
Hi Shaun, great video you’ve really got me wanting one of these. Would you recommend?
100% for the value for money aspect and how small they are I love mine.
@@LoveSundays will have a look in to one. Thanks 👍🏻
And your breaking the law using that 350 Motor....lol
Not on private land you’re not but also the laws changing to 500w this year.
Great video! Put how did the passenger seat work?
It’s just a paddled saddle on the back
Bloody hell mate that seat went down a bit when you sat on it 😂😂😂
😂
Really enjoyed the vlog
They look really fun and I like the compact size, but the tall handlebars seem like they would be uncomfortable. 🙂
That’s an epic little bike! Reckon you could get a surfboard rack on it?
Does that mean his father,s day present is sorted😊
Is it working without the battery?
Just found your channel! Fun to watch. Just curious...it sounds like you camp in the van once in awhile and don't live in it 24/7? i subscribed!
I use my van every weekend but don’t live in it. I have a family at home so it’s more of an adventure van than a full time home

Yes they’re built really well for the money
Does it carry another adult on the back or is it for a child?
On the website says that the motor is 500W and also 250W, what does it say the sticker on the motor of the ebike? otherwise would be illegal in UK
The d3f is 250w the A5 is 350w. This was private land anyway
@@LoveSundays So is not possible to drive the A5 in the uk road
Is this bike UK legal as it has over a 250 watt engine

So how did your dad help make the videos? Or do you mean vans??
He helped me build my ceiling in the transit
@@LoveSundays oh cool I just thought he helped you find the van 🚐
I thought it would be more expensive than that!

It's not road legal in the UK as a normal bicycle. You need to tax and insure it, wear a proper crash helmet.
@6581punk the laws changing this year up to 500w is road legal. Look it upn
It’s funny how heavier people like my dad get 15kmh at most with a dyu while I weigh 35kg and easily get up to almost 30kmh 😂
😂
You would both go faster if you had the seat up higher.
Be careful with cheap Chinese batteries as many incidents of them catching fire
Unlike a lot of these e-bikes The DYU comes with a British plug with a 3A fuse so there’s less chance of that happening
Pugh pugh barney mcgrew cuthbert dibble & grub
Lol
Let's be honest I wouldn't be seen dead on tht bike lol it looks abit daft
