- This is the DYU foldable Ebike. It has a 350 watt motor which provides assistance up to 15.5mph (UK) via pedalling, or by using the built in throttle (throttle not legal for public roads in UK).
It is very portable, having the ability to fold up enough so it can go in the boot of a small car, or to make easier to carry on public transport.

Of all the e-bikes you've reviewed, I genuinely like this one out of all them. It was the most fun to ride, and surprisingly comfortable for its size.
It has a charm all of its own and most important is a genuinely affordable e-Bike for somebody that wants to get about town on a budget.
Great video, but this bike is illegal in uk, you should only use on private land with owners permission 250 watt is the uk limit.So beware!

It's slightly illegal ??? Max motor size permitted is 250W for UK ebikes Stephen.
The throttle is OK as it's also an assist for starting off from say lights but you have to make sure it doesn't allow you to go above 15.5MPH and then generally have to be certified too. You can't buy an ebike and then stick a throttle on unless you get a cert for it (I think)
Apart from that - I agree, great spot on the prom for cycling

Excellent review of the e-bike Steve. It looks very well made with a clever folding mechanism. Like you said, it’s a commuter bike necessitating the small wheels. On the plus side the brakes look very capable and it’s good to have a throttle and suspension. I’m not too keen on the remote starting, just another level of complexity but overall a nicely designed bike.

Nice compact electric bike Stephen. It folds up beautifully and so quick ideal for placing into the boot of a car. Easily assembled again fast. Looks beautiful weather there as ever west is best. Dull and rainy here in Norfolk.

Were you gifted this Stephen. Not bad if you were , looks pretty compact but maybe not for you,as in the look of it, maybe for someone not so tall, I don't know you looked a bit awkward. Great wee bike though.

I think this is a fantastic e-bike, functional, compact, great fun and so quick to fold or deploy, I'm frankly, amazed Stephen. So perhaps it just needs a bit more tweaking so it fits you perfectly and I would imagine there's loads of adjustment in the saddle and handlebar stems to achieve this. Then it will be so, so comfortable and relaxing to ride it, take it into a Fish and Chip place for a bite to eat or a brew, gotta have a brew hehe. Take care Stephen and thank you for sharing.

I've always had this thing about how silly foldaway bikes look with their little wheels and stuff like that, but thats just me.😂 As long as they do the job for someone personally all is good 👍
Brilliant video Steven, son lives just over the road from where you were filming. Might get one and leave it in their house for when we visit. Not fit enough for a normal bike nowadays but always envied people doing that cycle route along the prom. Great informative film, thanks mate.
and only one gear,so with just with 1 gear you will need to use the elec power more,and you cant take it on the tram,was on one this morning,big notice inside the tram,
Unfortunately BT don't allow electric bikes/scooters on their vehicles.

I thought that if an e-bike has a throttle, they are legally classified as a moped, and hence need a moped entitlement on your drivers licence, registration plates, and insurance as well as a helmet.
Or maybe the law has changed recently, because I'm seeing a lot of e-bikes with throttles.
Strictly speaking it would not be legal on a public road. Off the road it's fine.
This bike is not legal in the u.k. unless on private land, max motor size allowed is 250w, also throttle has to cut out at 4.5mph.

yeah you should see what you can do. It will give it a more faster strength when you start to peddle, my bike you saw that one time, I made it go twice the speed when I first bought it. Just see what you can do. @@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool

Oh dear, you've done it this time. The limit for the uk is 250w 15.5 mph and max throttle only speed of 4 mph. I don't think you want to start "peddling" illegal equipment. It will spoil your channel. Stick to walking and showing us Blackpool.

No electric assistance over 25 kph
A maximum power output of 250W
In order for electrical assistance to be provided, the pedals must be in motion
You must be 14 years of age or above
For e-bikes above the 250W or 25 kph limit, the following rules apply:
You need to tax and register your electric bike
A driving licence
Wear a helmet
You cannot ride them on cycle lanes
Since February, the UK authority has seen a rise in the use of 750W throttle-controlled e-bikes in public places, down some underpass stairs, and for commuting. As the previous legality warnings haven’t been sufficient enough to stop people from indulging in these dangerous activities, the UK electric bike laws have been updated for stricter implementation.
Are Electric Bikes with Throttle Illegal?
Electric bikes with throttle cannot be used as standard bikes legally and are subject to separate regulations and laws. An e-bike with throttle can only make use of its electrical assistance to kickstart the bicycle and increase its speed to 6 kph. Any electric bike with a throttle that goes over 25 kph needs to be licensed, taxed, and registered because it is classified as a motorbike. They are also not allowed on bicycle lanes.

My mate is chief of police in the Midlands and he has one. Said they never stop people with them unless they are riding like a lunatic. Great bike. My ebike has a top speed of 50 mph and my mate who's a cop had a ride in it. It was law to wear a mask in lockdown! 😉x
