San Antonio is a beautiful city. I would love to love there. I have just one question, is San Antonio a city that embraces ethnic diversity, i.e., people of color.

I want that hat "Life in SATX". Where can I get it? Overall a good, informative video. A Con is the traffic between SA and Austin on I-35. Hoping that one day they will widen I-35. But as you said, lots of good things about living in a city with a small town feel. Lots of nice people. I love the River Walk and the Spurs. Great restaurants and always good music playing downtown. I love SA. I lived there for about 2 years before going to college in san marcos. Like you said, big ol town, but it feels like a small town somehow when youre in your neighborhood... I used to live in Valencia on the NE side next to live oak. Loved it.

If you have a home in SATX that needs maintenance or major repairs you are screwed in San Antonio. Contractors don’t want anything but quick and easy money. If your project is major expect to pay 5x more what you’d pay on an easy job. If you get a quote get multiples from different contractors. When my water softener STB I got quotes as high as $11K and paid $2800 for the exact same unit through another contractor. Many contractors are SNAKES. BEWARE.

Absolutely in love with that 2nd kitchen in the Perry home. They did a great job! I'm in a DR Horton home. I LOVE my neighborhood, i even love my home. I do NOT love DR Horton. They built every home in our subdivision using these PEX pipes. We're on our 17th water leak. DR Horton is fighting NOT to re-pipe our homes. Paying to re-pipe is $20K for our 2-story house. I can't believe we're in this situation. Make sure to pay for your own inspector regardless of who your builder is but especially if you build with DR HORTON. They're treating us terribly. Good luck everyone.

Native Texan, culturally great place, this was part of Mexico until colonizers took it away. So, it's nice to see diversity. Lots of unhappy people in Tx, too hot in summer, can reach 110 plus humidity, can't go outside sun is intense. If your rich and have a second home to escape to during summer your lucky. Crime here, lots of shootings and robbery unless you live in gated community, and traffic is insane drivers, and road rage. The quality of life is not great for single people, if you have kids good luck finding schools that are not over crowded, unless your rich and can afford private school, politcally don't care about much, but billionaires run TX so it's there agenda you support, lots of deregulation of gas, energy companies, good luck with electricity, they still haven't fixed since the last deadly freeze and unexpected snow storm, and during summer heat too many people and big data warehouses drain electric grid. Lastly, no healthy restaurant options, all fast foods, strip center malls are ruining the city, and overcrowding is becoming a problem.

I have lived in Seguin for 6 years... And it made me miss San Antonio because there is hardly any music venues... I'm a musician and there is no place to sit in and jam... I have only seen one place in the middle of town that has live music but no major concerts or places for smaller starter bands or places for musicians to express themselves.... And that is what is most important to me.... We need a place for Willie Nelson to play lol... Rock bands and country music , dance halls... No place to dance to disco, that's what we need..!!

As lifelong Texan who's lived in both SA and Austin I can say without question Austin is nothing more than a wannabe San Francisco. It's turned into one big liberal cesspool of woke activism/pandering. The old Austin was dope. The current state of Austin is embarrassing, and most Texans avoid it like the plague. Austin in 2024 is basically the skid mark stain in Texas' underwear. You couldn't pay me to live in that city.

I grew up in Boerne in the 80s. Left in 1991. I went back recently and don’t recognize it. It’s four times bigger than it used to be. Used to be only one elementary, middle and high school. I went to school from elementary through high school with the same people (Sam Champion was my principal). Now it’s two high schools and who knows how many middle and elementary schools. The entire 10 corridor to SA is completely built out now. It’s just a suburb of San Antonio now. When I was a kid the old family Boerne residents fought tooth and nail against anything that would grow the city (school bonds etc) because they didn’t want growth to ruin the town. Now that I’m older I think they might have been right.

Me and my wife and our three teenage kids are planning to move to San Antonio around December /January I'm a disabled veteran we are moving from South Carolina so I don't assume the heat and humidity will be that much different than what we deal with here😂 I read a lot of good things about Texas and your job market economy and housing so we're looking forward to the move my older son is moving to Austin and my other older son wants to move to Texas when he gets out the army! Is there any good hiking trails or walking trails I really enjoy being outside
