Great review, your wife is such a trooper being your subject for all these! Dreamlike shots of your little one were really nice with those lenses. Enjoy these, thank you
You're absolutely right, manual cinema lenses should be of identical dimensions for easier and faster work, and I'm surprised that 7artisan didn't take care of that. Otherwise, the image quality itself is decent considering the price. I especially liked the dreamy look of the 50mm T1.05. Great video, thanks.
As a DP/Director we are not looking for sharp in a cinema lens. Soft and smooth is the preferred. Sharp works for product shoots like cars, jewelry and so on. Not so much on people. Part of having a cinematic look is a lens that isn’t perfect.
I liked the skit. The combination of shots gave me a feel for these lenses. Not sure if you shot it all wide open on each lens, but the variety was helpful. The focus breathing wasn't perfect, but it's decent! Quite. Especially for the price. Yeah, not for photographers. And a word of advice to anyone getting them. Make a short film, shoot a skit! Nice job.
Thanks for the video. I have the 35mm for my FX30 and yes I use it on my A7iv. I find they provide a fun shooting experience but since my manual focus skills aren't great they can be frustrating as well. As you mentioned at the price it's worth a shot if you think you might want to get into cinema lenses. Cheers.
I metaphorically spit out my drink at the price for the set of four. That's insanely cheap, even if their performance is not quite there. I expected it to be closer to $5k, not $1500. Impressive!
Well, I do like shooting with manual vintage lenses but I always find difficult to find nice super wide angle vintage lenses so the 12mm it's a perfect match with my vintage lenses set. Also it's the cheapest! Shooting automatic razor sharp lenses ain't everything with Sony. Even with the super fast autofocus, AF is not always the better choice when you are shooting video and having a cheap and good video lens like those is a great option.
I might be late to the party on these but i think I need just one. I do a lot of off-road long distance overland travel. I think one of the these might be absolutely perfect for " 'round the campfire" nighttime footage with my FX30. At that price, I think it would be worth having a single use lens for that. Not sure which one to get though I am leaning towards the 25 :-0
I just bought two lenses discounted direct from 7Artisans. The 50mm $86 off. The 25mm $110 off. An excellent review of the 7artisans 50mm T1.05 Cine Lens for Sony-E with campfire lighting is on Mark Wiemels " This Lens Fixes the Sony FX30's Biggest Flaw ". It is very impressive.
Good work, It would be useful to do a comparisson between those lenses, and the regular Sony lenses (with the the same focal lengths, shooting the sdame scenes at the same time), would you? :-)
Think the 12mm here is something most APSC bodies dont have at all, wide angle and not really dark lenses, sony is the only one with this with the 11mm 1.8. Fuji, canon dont have this. Panasonic actually does with the m4/3 with the 9mm lens but hear its hard to get hold of.
Hello. You have the visión and the spectrum set, how are they working together? I know, one is aps-c and the second is full frame, but did the gears are located at the same distances? Did they have color shift between them? And so on... It can be a very interesting video. Both set are incomplete, but i think it can be a Nice aps-c set, mixing both together. What do You think about it? Regards.
Thanks. I was thinking about grabbing a 50mm S35 for my Canon C70. Nope. Too much funk. The colors were all over the place on the brick pattern? Ummm the price though. That's killer good. That's less for a set than an RF lens. I dunno.
I do have respect for the Chinese manufacturers and their pursuit of unique, affordable, at times optically great (in some regards) lenses. Their priorities do elude me. From typos in their marketing materials, through de-clicked apertures and slip-on, slide-in or even screw-in lens caps all the way to short focus throws, no weather sealing and, of course, no pins (with some standouts). To make, and soberly send out for review, a pelican case for CINE lenses (!) with an insert that fails to even remotely match the lens set is just on another level. I do understand there are cultural differences. What kinda culture places no emphasis whatsoever on how things fit, tho?
The Japanese manufacturer had this reputation in the 70s and they did not give up and look where they are now. World renowned craftsmen. The quality from Chinese products will increase to Japanese level with time. As an ethnic Chinese I know Chinese businessmen's mindsets. They want to profit maximally within the shortest period of time and do not care much about pretty much everything else, including legacy and the environment. Hope this will change soon.
@@ernestojuarez9296We of course do, and pretty good at that, but as a starting small company they do not have the resources to make up for the missing details, since doing so makes production much slower and lenses much much more expensive than they are right now, which is not good for company growth and survival. They can’t care for details if the company failed right?
Ok so… you’ve tested both this 7artisans and Sirui Nightwalkers, in your opinion, which ones are a better bargain and why? Would love to know your thoughts.
If you want clear images go for a Pixel phone, no need to mess with a Camera. But if you want drama and a dreamy look to your photos and videos then these lenses are perfect.
I thought a review is where people give their actual thoughts and preferences. I’m seeing more and more content creators speak specs and never really give an opinion of what they prefer. People click bc they want to know what you feel based on your experience NOT a generic review where you give absolutely no actual thoughts. I’m bothered. I’ll just buy the 25mm smh
Agree no sincere innovation. In this case samyang did better jon at least making it both af and somewhat manual (which is not entiry prefferable but something new at least). But honestly I am more proud of sirui and great joy with their relatively affordable anamorphic. Of course its 2.8 which is a bit alright but its still at least anamorphic. Though being honest t1.8 t2 is muuuch more prefferable hope for those to be released. I bought gj probably the most fun thing is its close to perfect no focus breathing, also they are wuite sharp. Bokeh is okay, somewhat better on darker moody places or maybe i should use matte box😊
@@Donbros Sirui anamorphic are not even a real anamorhpics, and the squeeze factor is changing between focus distance... They are clinicly dslr looking strange lenses, flairing like stupid. Every DP is making a memes out of Sirui
When the manufacturer can't even get the foam case right for their lenses , that says a lot for the quality of their product. I mean it is just foam that you cut for the size of your lens, like WTF

I just got the 25mm t/1.05 cine lens for my canon r50. I am in love with the glass on this lens. It's beautiful.

i'M glad to hear that because I'm just started and I bought the 50mm as a first lens!

Exactly my thoughts. The worst lens that you can get for a cinema work is stupidly sharp sigma.
Great video thanks Arthur! I have always curious about manual lenses maybe these can be my window to the world of manual lenses.

We need a comparison video with the Viltrox cine primes for super 35mm.
Thank you very much, it really helped me a lot to form an opinion about this set of lenses. May God bless your home and family every day!👋

Well, when you're using the DJI RS 3 Pro, you can get Autofocus using its LiDAR. I think this would be an awesome combo!
Can i use these lenses for my sony a6400?
Nice video Arthur... what 35mm lens for sony e-mount you recommend? I only do video!
Well these lenses are very cool cinema lenses. I'm using it on my Komodo and just love the 25mm swirly bokeh

I really like gears of any cinema lenses they are so satisfying not sure why not all lenses has it. Very tactile and comfortable
Would you prefer Nightwalkers to these?

The Chinese don’t know how to read between the lines. They know how to copy very well though.

Why would you want some rubbish clicking aperture on a Cinema lens?
Is the spectrum version compatible with sony zv e10?
Can i use 7 artisana 35 mm t2.0 full frame on my sony zve10??

Adobe Lightroom
Can I make best quality feature film for theater of these lenses ?
But I was expecting this for a low light setting, not a bright sunny day.
EDIT: I do like the depth of your review. Thank you.
Hello, can you claim that 50mm, 55mm and 35mm 7artisans lenses are sharper than vintage lenses like helios, takumar, yashica, pentax, carl zeiss...?
Full frame compatible ?
12mm on my Fuji works well
does this have a Z mount for nikon z cameras?
can you review new ttartisan 27mm f2.8 af lens?
Yes, its coming!
What if you like lens flare tho?
Are these Aps-c lenses?
Yes.
Merci👍🏽👏🏽
Couldn’t help notice, you placed the lenses down without the back covers. That’s not helped my anxiety levels, lol
