Just one problem, what qualifies as 'not fake' 3D? Yu Suzuki engineered these games around three axis geometry, and in principle the scaling isn't any less "3D" than other early texture mapping tech. It's all just degrees of illusion in the end.
stuff like these used to blow my mind when seen them running in the arcades when I used to go out hanging with my friends as a kid then return home and play my Sega Genesis and I kinda get annoyed that the graphics are nothing like the stuff seen in the arcades.
Thunder Blade is legendary with Spectacular graphics The levels are 2Fast 2Furious and entertaining This is a classic arcade from Sega ABSOLUTELY AWESOME 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Nomiss(Japan) = No death
Those transitions from Birdseye view to 3rd person are so epic even today, they must have been mind-blowing in the late 80s.
I remember seeing this in the arcades before 16bit consoles hit the market. It was mind blowing. I couldn't believe it was real.
Always loved the soundtrack to this game. Also, none of the home versions did this game justice.
I love fake 3D. The ingenuity it takes to make fake 3D graphics look convincing is absolutely marvelous.
Agreed, I've always been fascinated by the look of these old fake 3D games.

True, true. But this doesn't qualify by what is typically understood to be "true 3D". It doesn't use polygonal, texture mapped models, for a start.
polygons don't need to texture mapped to be 'true 3D' btw...

My first videogame ever! But man did I suck at it. So many quarters...
Blue Thunder (1983)
I remember walking into Aladdin's castle and seeing Thunder Blade - the full moving chair version and controls. About jizzed myself, I was 11
This ending is better than the Mass Effect 3 ending!
LOL, that's not really saying much.
The company ran out of funds by that point
Wow graphic 1897!!!

Awesome
very impress for '87!!!!
当時、流石に色々無理があるなぁって思いながらプレイしていた(笑)
This game is basically just you controlling a helicopter and demolishing the entire USSR's ground air and sea forces
膝を曲げて着座するだけで操縦性が格段に良くなって、結果として
難易度が下がったな。
So awesome on the eyes, but the repeating explosions for the Stage 1 end boss looked so unrealistic & dumb.
They used cutscene fro Blue Thunder?
小学生時代おもいだした
Sexy poster for a SEGA shmup.
the weakest of the super scalers for me
Amazingly Fake 3D Effects Of 2D graphic artistic
