    Just a suggestion: try putting a piece of cardboard off a cardboard box between the brake drum housing and the trailing arm as there is a risk of contact that could cause chipping/paint damage to the brake housing,
    I had someone do mine a long time ago and they actually dented and chipped the paint by accident when the splines finally broke free.
    Overall.. this is an awesome video, This is gonna help me big to do this myself.. , thanks for the post!

    Great video! I'd be interested in seeing it done by undoing the top shock mount instead of loosening the exhaust but your way works and you've explained everything beautifully.

  • @OutbackKanga

    undo the bottom of the shock no need to touch the exhaust.

      I find removing the top of the shock easier . It's only 1 bolt on each side . Just be sure to do it before you jack it up .

    Nicely done, you make it look a lot simpler than what the mechanic described. My brakes squeak, now I will get them adjusted. Do you have a preference on how to get rid of drum noise, which is very annoying? I have the same bike, 2009. Thank you, waiting for your response.

    • @weron021

      Drum noise comes from dirty brakes and poor adjustment, they need to be cleaned and some parts lubed up. than adjustment it is very simple, you can do it. just take every thing apart and cleaned it.

      @@weron021 just brought it back yesterday and said they did all that plus sawed down a few trails on the pads to give them more breathing space. Today is just like it was before maintenance. Maybe the drum needs to be shaved, maybe uneven?

    • @weron021

      @@saydmarschany8321 or may be your pads are too hard; this some times happens, also, the sharp edges sometimes fille down. The biggest thing is the adjustment.

    I have a 2013 but I can't seem to put it in like the shaft is in now I put the tire and the brakes on but there's no room

    • @weron021

      Are you trying to pit the tire on? or are you trying to remove the shaft? eatther way you have to remove the tire first in order to remove the shaft.

    I have the same scooter. The star with the studs stayed in the final drive assembly on mine and jammed the wheel up to the point that it all had to come off. It made me sad.

    Is it necessary to remove the tail?

    • @weron021

      No it is not necessary, but it is easier to remove and instal the tire. I have found that it is very tight and spend a lot longer with the tail on. it only takes a 5 extra minutes to remove it.

    Holy broc and cheese ???
    I do this without removing the fender nor exhaust .
    Not trying to criticize you , all im saying is you're working too hard .
    Wishing you the best .
    Also be sure to add some honda molly grease on the shaft spline before reinstalling .
    It goes without saying to clean off the old grease , yet i just said it lol .
