Those pictures of George with his children......tugs at your heart. His daughter is no longer with us (fatal car accident). His son is now a song writer.
He did a movie in 1992 called Pure Country, the sound track on that is really good. I know what you mean the country I grew up with had a different sound and feel to it.
RAN TO THIS...love this song and video. Thanks Pat...love me King George. Yes, he’s a real Cowboy. It was the bomb to have George’s autograph on your boot or hat for the men.
Great reaction. George Strait is amazingly talented I saw him in the 1900's. There's one called 'All My Ex's Live In Texas', 'She'll Leave You With A Smile', 'When Did You Stop Loving Me'. Thanks Pat.
George Strait has always been one of my faves. Fantastic writer and singer. Would you do 'If you're thinkin' you want a stranger (there's one comin home' ) ? It's catchy and really clever.
What made George so popular in the beginning...you could two-step to every song. In the 80’s, dancehalls were popular, everybody went dancing. And his looks didn’t hurt. It didn’t take long for George to prove his greatness. Although he has 60 no. 1’s...that’s just no. 1’s! His full catalog is unbelievably good music. You could literally search George Strait, pick any video, and come up with a winner EVERY TIME.
This was the first country song I earned to play on the guitar and drums. It's so weird cause I write country music but I'd rather rock out to prog metal. But I write about what I know and it turns into a country song. Much love from KY Poet Girl
I have seen him twice in concert. He's the bomb diggity. check yes or no, Stars on the water, Murder on music row. try those 3. He's wonderful no matter what he sings.
h Heck when I saw the country songs come up I thought this was all new reactions bc of Charlie Daniels....Looked at the dates this is like 4 mo. ago, 8 mo/ ago etc..i love George Straight! Ocean Front Property was a good one. Baby's gotten Good At Goodbye, Fireman, She'll leave You With A Smile.WOW so many good songs!
Just a little FYI- George Strait married his high school sweetheart, and they are still together today. He was a huge rodeo star, before he became a huge Country singer. I love his Pure Country. It was from a film he acted in with the same name. I love anything George Strait, so whatever you choose will be fine with me. Thank you!
If you haven't watched George Strait's movie - Pure Country - you should. It's really a good movie and he does a wonderful job and you get to hear him sing one of his hits. "I Cross My Heart".
George Strait is great. If you want a good throwback review some Marty Robbins. Nobody could sing a heart wrenching song like him. El Paso and El Paso City and My Woman My Woman My Wife and Big Iron are real classics.
A troubadour is a musical story teller. To be exact, George is a western singer, not necessarily a country singer. He is in the Bob Wills vein. If you go back to the early roots of modern country/western music, there were two main variants. You had Hank Williams, who’s music was based in an Appalachian sound that had its roots in folk music, from Ireland. It has a lot in common with Bluegrass music. The other variant was championed by Bob Wills, who’s music was heavily influenced by Mexican folk music. Both types of country, are heavy on story telling. The Hank inspired stuff is what you hear out of Nashville. The Bob inspired stuff is more Great Plains/Canada, Texas and California sounding.
Great timing of me finding this reaction! I just bought tickets day before yesterday as a surprise for my husband, to the concert in January in Kansas City!! I don't make a lot of money and this is a splurge I worked very hard for. ($350). By the time we go see him live it will be just a month before our 22nd anniversary. Can you please please react to our song by him as your next George Strait pick? It's called Cross My Heart. Was a lot of wedding songs in the mid 90s Im sure! If you can do the official video it won't make much sense because it's taken from the movie Pure Country. Great reaction as always!
Love Chris too.....His Reride was one of my favorites. Of course I was running the Tourquois Circut at the time, in rodeo and popular in all the bars. That and Orange Blossom Special!
Garth’s people keep all his music off TH-cam unfortunately. There’s some good impersonators though, and his people don’t know dailymotion exists, so shhh 🤫
He has a son who is married and the son has a child. He had a daughter who died around age 13...she was in a a car with some family friends and died when the car wrecked...very sad. George grew up on a ranch.
Would like to hear your reaction to moving on by Casey Donahew band. It's what they call red dirt country. Think you would like it. Casey has alot of good songs too. Keep up the good work.
His longtime writer is Dean Dillion. Great documentary on him is on TH-cam. Really, really good, very entertaining and you would enjoy it. Would learn a lot about the history of red dirt (Texas) country.
Red Dirt Music is good stuff from artists from Texas and Oklahoma. Cross Canadian Ragweed- Boys from Oklahoma, Alabama, 17, Constantly” Cody Jinks- Loud and Heavy Stoney LaRue - Feet don’t touch the ground Jason Boland, Randy Rogers ect ect🤘🏼 Good country music from that area. It’s a whole other rabbit hole. 😀
Would love to see you react to Chris LeDoux's "Hooked On An 8 Second Ride"... or actually, any of Chris' songs. Garth Brooks readily admits that he stole his stage show from Chris.
George Strait has one of the best singing voices ever, in my opinion, but I would have to say that Dwight Yoakam is more talented, over all. Listen to him sing and play on the song, Long White Cadillac. Dwight Yoakam, also has a long string of hits. Speaking of talent, he was in the movie, Sling Blade. Anyone who hasn't seen it is missing one of the best movies, ever.
George Strait is one of those guys who makes you wish we could go on forever.
You Look So Good in Love great great song.
George Strait is the man! Always has been.
You can’t go wrong with any selection from George Strait. That said, some of my favorites are: Oceanfront property, The Chair, Check yes or no.
Those pictures of George with his children......tugs at your heart. His daughter is no longer with us (fatal car accident). His son is now a song writer.
Oh, I didn't know about his daughter. Thank you for the info.
One of my favorites from King George. Never get tired of listening to his music.
Ahhhhhh King George ❤❤❤❤❤
Great reaction!!! George Strait - I Saw God Today, I Cross My Heart, Write This Down and Love Without End, Amen - these are some of my favorites
One of my favorites by him
This is my favorite country music song of all time absolutely flawless
He did a movie in 1992 called Pure Country, the sound track on that is really good. I know what you mean the country I grew up with had a different sound and feel to it.

George strait is the real deal. Only country music singer to have a degree in agriculture. A real cowboy and rancher.
This is why he’s so loved, pure, smooth and real. King George.
KING George Straight.
George Strait has always been one of my faves. Fantastic writer and singer. Would you do 'If you're thinkin' you want a stranger (there's one comin home' ) ? It's catchy and really clever.

40 some odd years---Long live King George!!!!!
His music is pure

Life’s not the breath you take is a very good song
I have seen him twice in concert. He's the bomb diggity. check yes or no, Stars on the water, Murder on music row. try those 3. He's wonderful no matter what he sings.
my personal favorite Where the sidewalk ends by George Strait
h

He wasnt a rodeo star, but the rest is spot on. His son was a PRCA team roper for a while though.
My favorite George Strait song is So Much Like My Dad.
If you haven't watched George Strait's movie - Pure Country - you should. It's really a good movie and he does a wonderful job and you get to hear him sing one of his hits. "I Cross My Heart".
The Chair...The Chair....The Chair...also Seashore Old Mexico official video.
Seashores of Old Mexico is so underrated and hard to find. That 3/3 waltz time always makes me smile.
I dare you to react to "3 WOODEN CROSSES" by Randy Travis and not feel moved!
Yes, would definitely consider him country. I like a lot of his songs, although I dont listen to nearly as much country as I used to.
George Strait is great. If you want a good throwback review some Marty Robbins. Nobody could sing a heart wrenching song like him. El Paso and El Paso City and My Woman My Woman My Wife and Big Iron are real classics.
I love his song Ocean Front Property

Love George Strait! Murder on Music Row with Alan Jackson's really good.
2 great songs...hard with him having 60 no. 1 hits, but ...
Run
Cowboys like us

Did you get to go to the concert.
Chris ledouex, a true rodeo cowboy started recording career later in life after his rodeo career, champion bronc rider
Love Chris too.....His Reride was one of my favorites. Of course I was running the Tourquois Circut at the time, in rodeo and popular in all the bars. That and Orange Blossom Special!
George and I were both born in the same year. His looks faired A lot better than mine. He is such a talented singer. Being 67 isn't all that bad.
Tis is such a good song
The meaning of troubadour these days would be a wandering singer, but yes, centuries ago it referred to poets and singers who travelled around.
The chair is one of my favorite
Please react to George Strait I Cross My Heart. It was my wife and my 1st dance song at our wedding 25 yrs ago last month
Chris LeDoux -- This Cowboy's Hat.
Garth Brooks - Belleau Wood - Best country/Christmas song EVER IMHO.
Garth’s people keep all his music off TH-cam unfortunately. There’s some good impersonators though, and his people don’t know dailymotion exists, so shhh 🤫

A fire I can’t put out is good old country
George has a working ranch south of San Antonio, TX. Those pictures of him on the ranch are real.
Smooth as silk.
Cross Canadian Ragweed- Boys from Oklahoma, Alabama, 17, Constantly”
Cody Jinks- Loud and Heavy
Stoney LaRue - Feet don’t touch the ground
Jason Boland, Randy Rogers ect ect🤘🏼 Good country music from that area. It’s a whole other rabbit hole. 😀
George strait has his own rodeo events every year. He and his son compete in roping
Marmalade : "Reflections Of My Life."
Please could you react to George Strait " Run".
Would love to see you react to Chris LeDoux's "Hooked On An 8 Second Ride"... or actually, any of Chris' songs. Garth Brooks readily admits that he stole his stage show from Chris.
Oh, meant to add... when you listen to Chris sing about rodeos... you are right there. He conveyed the action very well in his songs.
George Strait has one of the best singing voices ever, in my opinion, but I would have to say that Dwight Yoakam is more talented, over all. You should watch the movie Pure Country....
Watch the video about his daughter "baby blue" it will wreck your soul.
In this sense the word troubadour is really more from the Latin root word tropator meaning singer
If you want old school go all the way back with Hank Williams senior
I think you should review I can still make Cheyenne. Probably his best sans Amarillo by morning.
React to Waylon Jennings- Singer of Sad Songs. Terry Stafford- Amarillo by Morning.
Can you do lone star “I’m already there” military tribute
You have to go Cody Jinks
