Video Drone - UpAir One Plus Look What I Found Disassembling the Gimbal and Transmitter!

As in this episode, we will be disassembling the gimbal, telemetry unit and transmitter of the UPAir One Plus to document it in case we crash (which we will) and two it is one of the top requests from my prior UpAir One videos. However when I got it apart, I discovered some interesting hacking potential for this bird which could not be done on the earlier versions as well as a brief rant about the DJI Overlords!

Please help, my drone does not maintain the connection! 1. Can't connect using wifi only with the cable. And when I connect it immediately disconnect the drone. Any idea or advice?

received mine today and removed the gimbel, to learn without wrecking it! I still have telemetry and flys well just no video. thought you might like to know!

the addy team team team I flew mine just 3 times, haven't had it a good month and the gimbal just stopped working. I was in contact with someone named Grace at then but I haven't gotten any responses lately. Sent a video showing the problem but not a word yet.??? I'm getting concerned, I never wrecked it or anything, stopped working in mid air.
Yes I spoken with Grace in the past (not sure if it is a person or just a generic name they use). Also I have going to be reaching out to them also as I am having compass calibration issues mine...
i got the same as yours. I replaced the ribbon flex and after installing i work but a sudden it stop and one mo motor is not working and gymbal and camera is not working too. but when i start it camera blink its light once and gymbal kick a little and it stop again. I hope you can help me. Helpful channel.ThankYou!.
Hi.. saw this video, did you ever figure out if that 4-pin connector at the bottom of the gimbal PC board, are you able to hook it up to "mission planner"..? that would be nice.. rather than taking apart to whole Quad to get to the mission planner 4-pin connector. Thanx.. for your videos.
Yes the two boards are connected by a bus, they can come apart. My first upair plus went crazy and crashed, I lost all connection for video so I thought I would take it apart to see if maybe a connection came apart. Didn't find anything so put it back together and sent back to Amazon since I only had it for a week. Got my new one and haven't had any problems at all. thanks

Video-Drone I'm pretty sure it was the old florescent lights in my garage messed up the compass and it just went haywire
While them yes and this the reason one should a compass cal while in the field well away from things... :-)
Have upair ultrasonic 2 like to add black pearl fpv monitor to it how do go by to connect up everything

What would be a great Video Drone site bit would be so show where to get service parts, I recently crashed my Upair 1 V1.3 and the 3wire connector plugging into the OSD board above the gimbal to th PDX4 board is broke and I don't know where to get a replacement.
and the camera/gimbal protector I just got is terriffic, thanks!
Write to Genten (manufacture) and they are pretty good at getting back with folks as the cables are around $12 (or use to be) with shipping...
Have u had issues with one motor not turning, if so how did u fix?

do you have any idea to reset the gimbal?because mine was misbehaving it tilt on one side..but everything works
On the Upair One there isn't an easy way other then figuring out a way to connect a USB port to the Storm controller and use Basecamp to adjust...

There is a usb plug on one of the legs is there not? The compass leg?
I think but not sure this is an I2C bus connector like the Phantom II

Not really as the non-plus version as the OSD build into the gimbal so it would be a major pain. The Plus design is better as you could add a different gimbal and camera easier...
The you ever complete your investigation on modding the gimbal and camera?

Anyone managed to get the flight control firmware updated from the Android App? Tells me it has 2.1.2 available. Appears to download but the install buttons doesn't do anything!
Yes mine updated on both my Galaxy 5 and Lenovo Tab 5...
Thanks for the really quick reply. Odd I wonder what I'm doing wrong. I'm on an Honor 8. I do have a few other devices will have to try them. Perhaps this might be video worthy.
try a complete shut down and restart and see what happens. Android can get a little strange...

Unfortunately full reset didn't work so I'm trying another Android device this time a Galaxy S5. Is there any special trick to getting the update to show up. Been waiting almost all day. Many thanks again for all your help

Mine crashed and got destroyed on the first flight, but GTen fixed it for free so I can't complain. BTW their repair center is in Baltimore MD.
