🔴 Thanks for watching. Are you going to implement a square shoulder set-up so you don't slice again? Do you have any questions about this video that you don't understand? Let me know in the comments below 👇
Thank you for showing a single simple move to fix this setup problem. Simply drop/bend the right elbow toward the body and the proper adjustment is automatic. Brilliant!
Hey, Hitting it solid. I’m not the best golfer. 2 handicap at my best. Maybe 20 rounds under par. Played golf today with a good friend. Young man getting into golf. Came home today to send him a video because his shoulders are open! Bro! You are a very good golf instructor. So impressive ! And your title is “Urgent”your video was so cool ! Thank you ! 👊
Always find your videos informative Troy! This one has excellent suggestions for squaring up the shoulders at set up. I will definitely be thinking about this when I play tomorrow! Good Job Troy!
Thanks for the great video, you just described my driver problem that I've been having the last few rounds and didn't know how to fix it so I'll definitely try this out. Thanks again
I watched this a few weeks back and thought it a bit too simple.. and yesterday I discovered that I'm doing precisely this (straightening my right arm). Appreciate the clear guidance - here's hoping those woods (and driver) get a little more consistent now!
An excellent explanation and keeping everything simple. As soon as I move the ball forward in my stance, my shoulders open so hopefully the tucked right elbow will help - probably with standing a bit closer
I think this has been my current problem with my driver.... the last few rounds I’ve been slicing a little and never thought about my right arm being too straight, stiff and too much on top of my left arm at address. I bet I’ll increase my swing speed with this set up change I’m going to make. Thank you for the great detail!
I’m a left hander and that could be one of my problems. I’ve got my driver down to a mild fade most of the time but I am unable to hit a draw no matter what I do. I will certainly try this Thursday when I play. Thanks for the video.
@@Hittingitsolid Troy I tried your tip today and it certainly helped my slice with the driver. The fairways I missed were still playable. I still don’t have a baby draw like I would like to have but golf is much more fun from the fairway or first cut. Thanks. I’m going to continue to work on it.
Played the first round of the year yesterday.. worked all winter on my swing (which seems much better) but my alignment was awful. While my swing is much more shallow my shoulders were so open at address is still cut across the ball. I found it particularly difficult with irons. Do you have any videos on this subject with irons, maybe on uneven lies? Appreciate this video it was very good!
Hey there, the process of squaring about the shoulders and body works for all clubs in the club including irons and driver and hybrids. If you're still cutting across the ball it's liking you're coming down steep in the downswing. I think this drill will really help: th-cam.com/video/zeIsvgRZ0-Y/w-d-xo.html
@@Hittingitsolid thanks for the reply. I actually have too shallow of a swing I believe. On the downswing I’m well under the plane line. I think I am cutting it/ slicing it because my shoulder are open relative to my feet and target lines. I have a hard time squaring up ball/target line, feet, and shoulders parallel. Trying to practice this.
@@gunshow2121 Hi there, it's very rare for someone to have too shallow a golf swing in the downswing. In fact, I've never seen a swing like this. Have you seen this in the downswing view on video of your swing?
@@Hittingitsolid perhaps too shallow isn’t the correct term. Way under plane I suppose is a better way of describing it. Has been causing an array of awful shots.
@@gunshow2121 Okay, it's still much the same thing. It's still extremely rare. 90% of golfers swing are too steep and over plane in the downswing. Do you have a video of your swing from down the line?
A great way to accomplish this tremendous tip is- Hold the club with the left hand only when aligning the face, next run the right hand down the outside of the right leg to proper grip level, then put the right hand on the club. This produces proper shoulder alignment & proper shoulder tilt with all clubs.
Looking at your face on view, it looks like when you unstraighten (sic) your right arm, you strengthen your grip. Once set up, I don't see how to square only the shoulders without making some other adjustment, either grip, distance from ball, turning hips, or tilting the shoulders. Are you implying that nothing else changes in the setup? If so, I will work on that. If something else has to give, what should that be?
@@Hittingitsolid would that be followed by à properly timed shift to the right, on backswing, and a power shift to the left on downswing ? Thank you for your reply.
I’m halfway convinced this is what’s causing the push slice with my driver. It’s so bad I’ll be hitting balls 250 yards from the tee to the next fairway
Thankyou so much troy,I knew my shoulders were open, but couldn't fix it,then saw your video,it was my right arm,owe you a drink if you come to England.👍🏌️

The tip I’ve been looking for that was overlooked by even pga pros I’ve paid for lessons!
Yes, it’s super important
One of the most important things in the setup and this is the only video I’ve found on TH-cam. Thanks.

Wow, I spent an hour with a friend trying to fix my open shoulder and neither of us could figure it out. This is a trivially easy fix. Thank you!
Awesome, glad it helped!
Great explanation so simple but never found anyone to explain the simple fix like this . Thank you and just subscribed.

About 50/50 in the middle of the feet
