Why 90% of golfers can't strike their irons...

  • This is why you struggle to strike your irons pure and make solid contact 👇
    1. Your sternum is not positioned correctly at address
    2. Your forearms are not in line at set up - BIG ONE
    3. Your posture is misaligned at set up
    4. You turn in the golf swing as apposed to pivot
    5. You don't have control over the club face
What's great is if you have any one of these faults in your golf swing they are really easy to fix and can make an instant impact on the quality of your ball striking not just with your irons but with your driver too.
For example if you want to hit your driver straight just getting the forearms aligned at address will be a real eye opener for you.

    ABOUT DANNY
    -----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On TH-cam and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

Tip #4. I've been playing golf on and off for 35 years and nobody ever told me this. Went to the range last night and practiced for 40 mins, it was like being liberated to actually "strike" the ball for the first time ever. Great results straight away. Thanks Danny!

      I just don't see the 4 and 5 o'clock. Isnt the iron too high for 4 o'clock?

    • @michaelkrailo5725
      @michaelkrailo5725 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@jschumme Real and feel are not the same thing, plus some golfers have more mobility in their turn than others. When you are imagining this motion to 4 or 5 o clock, take some video of yourself and see what it actually looks like. I'll bet it doesn't look like it feels to you as you are doing it. The key is split your range of motion up into 4 or 5 parts and that's the clock feel that fits you mobility. For myself, if I try and swing to 5 o'clock, i over swing and top position looks horrible on camera. If I shoot for 3 or 4 o'clock, everything looks much better on camera. So I have eliminated the idea of swinging to 5 in my swing in favor of consistency. If I had a tour players body, then things would be different.

I’ve watched so many of your videos and you’ve really helped me in so many ways with my golf, but your video on ball path and shape and this one are just superb.
I’ve long struggled with low trajectory and trailing off shots, always finishing right. Pretty straight, not really a big slice or direct right shot, but always felt weak. I’m 72 years old and just thought “ well this is just how it is “. But after those two videos and changing my setup routine to really check ball position with my sternum and my arm alignment and the 1-5 arm lifting with my takeaway and the little wringing of my hands….it’s just amazing. I just hit 25 balls in a row straight to target line, no fade, no trailing, high trajectory and 150+ with my 7i. My 7i is normally reliable at 118 to 125. And those shots were crisp, I didn’t hit it hard or overswing. It’s just incredible to me. Thank you so very much. It’s feeling like I’m hitting it like I was 25 years younger. Just amazing difference.

I had a score of 82 on one of the more difficult courses in my area last weekend. A friend asked me how I went from shooting over 100 to shooting in the low 80's in a weeks time. I told him it was actually simple. I paid a great deal more attention to the way I was setting up over the ball. Just by doing that, I dropped nearly 20 strokes from my 18 hole score. I was wondering the same thing but I also saw a video by GOLFTEC that said you would set the ball up in the same place each time but it was the BACK foot you would bring forward for shorter irons and move back for longer irons. I'm not fully convinced on this but it this were the case, you could always have your sternum over the ball. This is my second year of playing and though I have drastically improved, there are times when it is like I have forgotten everything I ever learned for ball striking and there are SO many things to think about, you forget about some of them. Quite a sport!

Danny thanks again for another good lesson. I saw the cow and squeeze the towel thing a year or so ago that absolutely helps square up the face. He didn’t talk about how much pressure was needed and your explanation cleared it up for me. Also getting my arms and shoulders lined up really helped get my iron striking back. I’m 80 years old still playing a lot of golf and still learning from people like you thank you thank you thank you

So far in practice (only twice) I did the "5 o'clock" move from this video, tip #4. I went from maybe 50/50 strikes to 80-90% good strikes hitting the ball right down the middle. I was amazed. Can't wait to try it on the course. I always thought it was around and around. I think this is the best tip I have ever implemented. Thank you.

So much GREAT INFO and VISUALS without the silly "entertainment" that most do! This was just awesome and made me realize exactly what I've been doing lately - ALL OF THEM!! My best score ever was a 69 on a course I'd never seen before - long but not too tricky! That was when I was young and before I started watching all the OTHER experts! I think I've tried about every method to try to get back to my 30 something swing but my 70 year old body doesn't seem to do what it once does. This vid gives me a whole new perspective on HOW to fix my crappy swing and maybe I can stop shooting 80 - 88 from the yellow tees! I LONG for the day of a really good, solid ball strike!! Thanks Mr. Maude!

Appreciate your dedication to the lessons pushing on through the elements Danny. I recently had lessons correcting a too closed club face at impact. Even though I thought I had the club face open it wasn’t even close to correct. Video evidence was a great insight and now I’ve developed the correct feel in the backswing resulting in far better ball striking similar to your clock position drill. So much confidence now that the muscle memory has kicked in. As always, terrific instruction and so pleased that it doesn’t contradict my golf pro’s lessons 👍🏻🇦🇺

You make it look so simple. I am really struggling to swing and or strike the ball the same way each time (with different irons or woods). I watch your videos, it instantly clicks. I go outside to hit the wiffle ball, it works for a swing or two, then suddenly a different habit occurs. I thin or top the ball all the time. I intentionally try to stay on the ball and then fat it or the ground in front. So frustrating!

Just started swinging a club again after 2 months off through injury. Spotted this video and watched it; it made perfect sense. I ended up trying to incorporate most of these ideas and swung smoothly through the ball. Took a few shots to start to feel the difference, but after that.....for the first time in 20 years, I had some kind of control over my swing - nice, tidy little draw shots, repeating swing after swing. I reckon that if I can work this in over the Winter, and learn to trust it, I might just have a decent golf game by the time Spring comes.... Thanks, Danny!!

I think I've watched almost all of your videos. It was not until you got to "4. You turn in the golf swing as apposed to pivot" in this video with the demonstration of the 12 o'clock, 1 o'clock etc that things clicked for me on why I drfit in and out of great swing mode during 18 holes. Yesterday, I deliberately practiced your example at the range and had an ah-ha moment. I've seen you describe the concept in other videos, but it didn't strike me as so significant as the demonstration in yesterday's video. It also makes so much sense in terms of the enabling more of a feeling of the weight of your arms and club together just falling along the path to begin building momentum. Your teaching is superb. I am a huge fan. Thank you for creating this channel and the volume of examples with alternative approaches to explaining and demonstrating key concepts.
